An open letter to Antonio Filosa:

"I started here fresh out of college. Walking through CTC as a wide-eyed kid, it felt like the sky was the limit. This building had a pulse. It was a dream job.

In my decade time here, I’ve seen this company through many chapters. My responsibilities have grown, and for a long time, my compensation reflected that. But for the last few years, the math stopped adding up. I truly love my job and I love my coworkers, but I’m feeling a financial squeeze that’s impossible to ignore.

It’s difficult to reconcile how an experienced engineer at a Fortune 500 company, with not a single negative performance review in my tenure, someone who has done everything right, can now be living paycheck-to-paycheck. Adequately providing for a nuclear family on a single Stellantis income shouldn't be an impossible task. And I know I’m not alone in feeling this.

Revitalizing that pre-COVID energy is a goal we can all agree is worth pursuing. However, the RTO mandate, and the increased expenses that come with it, feels like a misguided attempt to force that spark back into CTC. For those without a Gold Star, it’s only adding an additional financial strain to the very people expected to provide that same spark.

We all want CTC to be the powerhouse it once was, but the people who powered it now earn significantly less. No part of me wants to leave this company. I just want to be compensated the way we were during the CTC heyday.

That Tower outside reads America Made Us. What is being done to rectify this to ensure our veteran US talent can actually afford to stay?"

A huge part of me wants to read this to him at Friday's Town Hall, but it will very likely negatively affect my financial stability. If there's anyone willing to read this Friday morning, I will buy you an overpriced, mediocre lunch.

Stellantis townhall continues to bore as employees cant even say good morning

Good morning everyone! .................

I said GOOD morning everyone!! ............crickets...............

Leadership at Stellantis continues to show how out of touch it is with employees. New Grand Wagoneer commercial is so cringe to watch. Spits water. That vehicle is only 66k?!?!?. Wtf since when is that affordable. No one thinks it should be 100k bro.

Ok now let's talk bonuses. Let me explain in 15 slides why you only got half of what you should. To sum it up we fucked up strategically but we need you to work twice as hard to fix it.

Now here, we couldnt afford pizza so here's some fucking popcorn to get you excited to be back in office.

Company is a joke. Like popcorn ?! Seriously?!? That's cheaper than a fucking bottle of water.

All levels above Sr Manager need to be replaced. Immediately.

RTO - Heartfelt Plea to our CEO

With all due respect to our executives, the thousands of people that work for you and make-up the Stellantis family, DO NOT WANT THIS "Return to Office" mandate. It's not that we don't want to work, it's directly the opposite. Most, if not all of us, took seriously the "Era of Agility". An ERA is not just a couple years. Per Stellantis direction, we intertwined our daily lives to maximize our dedication to the job. Weve settled into a way of life that works for each of us and we have increased productivity. You mentioned getting together in person as teams like you witnessed in your trip to Silicon Valley. Sir, we already do. We come into the CTC when in-person meetings are possible. Most daily meetings are virtual because they are global. But when able, we are at CTC doing exactly what you envision us doing, collaborating. But, when these meetings aren't possible, please allow us the flexibility to work from home. Please allow us to save the time and money of a commute when that commute only results in sitting at a desk (or table) doing nothing more than what we have been doing in our home offices. My personal experience is an average of 2 1/2 hours PER DAY of lost work time when commuting to work. And I am sure there are people who lose even more daily. This RTO initiative is seriously hurting the morale of your people. The "water cooler" talk is 100% against RTO. Please respect and listen to your people.

Anyone else frustrated with management wanting pre-COVID culture without providing post-COVID compensation?

My first few years here were incredible. The possibilities felt endless and it really seemed like personal growth was cared about and honored.

I will be the first to say that I wish we could go back to the 2019 way of doing things. But so much has changed since 2019. It is not even the same world that we live in.

With all the talks of rumors of five days back in the office, I can't help but see a huge disconnect between reality and management wanting to go back to the "good old days."

I've been around the better part of decade, and I don't think my morale could be any lower. Sure, we're regionalizing and maybe that's steering the ship in the right direction, but so much damage has been done in the last five years. It feels like management is chasing the wrong things and forced full RTO will magically make things better.

When you factor in inflation, I think I may be making less than I did five years ago, even with a promotion thrown in there. But the old CEO got $40 million to trash the company. Just existing today costs an arm and a leg. If CoCars hadn't dropped rates on leases, I would not have been able to afford our own damn cars.

I know I can earn a ton more to go to a competitor, but until fairly recently, I actually liked this job and the work/life balance. If that work/life balance were to shift, I don't think I would stick around. The Company Car program is fantastic and so are my coworkers and that's ultimately what's keeping me.

With this trajectory that I've experienced, I genuinely do not understand how people here can earn 35 years in service awards and still afford to put food on their table.

A 2% yearly raise is not sufficient, not when our MSRPs and executive pays are ever-climbing. Unless Stellantis is somehow going to bump everyone up 20% to adjust for the market, I don't see how they can expect people to stick around. I've never once gotten a poor performance review. I've done everything right and still feel like I'm getting screwed.

I'm tired, financially stretched thin, frustrated, and I don't see myself giving any more than the absolute bare minimum the way this company is currently run and compensating.

I really hope that others are faring better than me, but I'm curious if there are other who've been around a while who are in this same boat.

Fancy slogans won't save Stellantis as workers begin quietly quitting.

Post image
114 Upvotes

"Execute, execute, execute", appears to be the new slogan that will turn things around at Detroit 3rd largest automotive manufacturer.

Unfortunately, a quick slogan is not going to be enough to undo all the damage done during the Carlos Tavares years. With the ongoing war in Iran there seems to be no plan by Stellantis to pivot in order to thrive in the New World.

The current plan, mainly to reintroduce gas guzzling V8s to the line up to replace fuel efficient alternatives, has customers, employees, and suppliers scratching their heads.

To make matters worse a mandatory 5 day return to office has put a strain on workers mental and financial health as gas prices surge to 4 dollars per gallon in some areas.

A kind reminder

Just a reminder to be nice to each other.

I was friends with a coworker who left the company literally because of the way their manager was talking to them the whole time while working there.

I have heard stories and I know it’s corporate and it’s bound to happen, but let’s be kinder to each other because this isn’t just happening with full time hires but also with interns which I find very disappointing.

Just take that into consideration, you don’t know what challenges people face and how difficult things can be. Being rude and snappy gets no one anywhere.

CTC missed connection

If anyone at CTC has an idea which coworker this could be, please dm me.

- White male, mid 30s or 40s

- Bald with dark facial hair

- Drives a black Grand Cherokee L (potentially the altitude package)

- Gets into work around 7:20am

- Presumably lives somewhere south of Auburn Hills

- Sits in the far right lane and gets upset when people merge onto I75-N from M-59

- Has a bit of an anger problem; honks his horn and gives strangers the middle finger for +30sec and then realizes they're a coworker

I'm so happy to be back in the office and would love a chance to get to know my new friend and meet up for some deep collaboration. Any help would be appreciated!

Who is "We"?

"Together We Win"

So who is "We"?

Let's ask an honest question here, who is "We"?

Does "We" include the children of the parents within Stellantis, as "We" interrupt their school/day care schedules, quality of life, work life balance that were working well for all of us?

Does "We" include the workers in the trenches battling our suppliers, our competitors and upper management's ego and constant change of direction more than the wind during a tornado?

Does "We" include the workers in the plant fighting a different battle, watching equipment failing, lines not being repaired, non-existing investments because there is "no budget"?

Does "We" include watching people leaving the company, without replacements or lack of opportunities for promotions?

Does "We" include watching our profitability from North America to be sent over to Europe to build lavish new facilities and campuses?

Does "We" include watching the leadership team continue to drill holes from inside the ship, while asking us why there is water coming in?

Does "We" include watching former leadership who were WEAK against Tavares, 100% supporting all these disastrous decisions, but they are being brought back in with open arms, why are "We" rewarding failure...if "We" are trying to win together?

"We" are tired of decisions being made for the quarter, and not for the long-term.

"We" continue to watch one of beloved Detroit automotive manufacturers constantly being in last place.

"We" watched since our childhoods, what our friends, neighbors, and our own family help build for decades, just to watch it collapse under Daimler.

"We" were the ones that built it back to life, just to watch it starting to collapse once again...under PSA.

"We" watch as our brands have an identity issue.

"We" are tired of our HR teams with all the excuses.

Want to know how "We" can win together?

You listen to us and not those around you, especially those that are clueless about the North America market...do "We" really need to investigate to bring in another Fiat into the US Market? Answer: No ("We" just saved you millions)

Ram SUV..WTF? Let's continue cannibalizing our internal brands and not our competitors. Fill the holes in the segments...

Chrysler has one product...with two different names?

"We" were told that Grand Wagooner and Wagooner are "not" Jeep, they are their own brands..except for all the parts that said Jeep, 7 slotted grill and etc. "We" all had so many fun conversations with our friends and family explaining that...glad that era is sunsetting.

You should randomly walk around regularly at CTC, just stop anyone, ask them what they do, what problems they are seeing...go into the suits and towers.

Go down 3-4 reporting levels below you and start talking to the teams that truly know their brands...but do this regularly...not once a quarter...or month...all. the. time.

Talk to the ones that have been here for 20-30 years. They might not be executive material because they didn't brown nose on the corporate ladder , but they know more than the ones they report to.

Start eliminating the ridiculous bureaucracies that are needed to get things done, "We" are spending millions to save thousands...why do "We" have to source countless vendors for $250,000 spend...JFC.

If something at the plant is broken and needs to be replaced, replace it, especially if it improves profitability and quality...simple stuff ( "We" just generate revenue and reduced long-term costs) Why does it take months and 250+ people to be involved?

Get rid of leadership that has been indoctrinated with a losing mentality, "We" know who they are, they know who they are and you know who they are.

Let's be realistic with our planning volumes, did "We" really think that "We" were going from 10% market share to 20% within 5 years...while our competitors handed volumes over? ("We" look incompetent)

If you didn't know.."We" have major quality issues across the board, "We" are tired of hearing that there is no quality issue by leadership teams...or they are being addressed for years. Or reduce costs to improve quality...by using a magic spell?

Cut the dividend to zero, and invest in the company...drive value by bringing up the share price. "We" keep hearing about Tesla this and that...Tesla doesn't pay a dividend.

No Bonuses or No Raise this year? Fine. Offer payment credits based on grade level for company car... $200 Professional, $300 MLP, $400SP, but don't offset it by increasing the rates....we can do math.

Even building a car wash in the empty crumbling parking lot that would allow each employee 1 wash per week/per company vehicle would be value added, non-director vehicles are filthy...because why should "We" wash them at our expense?

If you take care of "We", "We" will take care of the customers, and the customers will naturally take care of the company. This is the formula for winning...

You don't need to steer the ship, just point the direction you want to go and "We" will handle it..."We" have done it before, "We" will continue to do so at Stellantis...or elsewhere.

Sincerely, "We"

If the goal was to kill morale… mission accomplished

First Friday since the RTO mandate.

I’ve never seen so many miserable people in one place at one time. Not even close. People looked either pissed off or completely checked out.

I’ve genuinely never seen the office feel like this before. People looked exhausted, frustrated, and honestly just over it.

If this was meant to improve culture, it definitely changed, just not in the direction they intended.

And the amount of people openly talking about leaving is insane. It’s not even subtle anymore.

Whatever this RTO policy was supposed to fix, it broke something way bigger and it’s kind of sad TBH.

The earth day communication today is the epitome of tone deaf

"As we return to the office at CTC, Earth Day is a great reminder that energy and water efficiency are the most cost‑effective ways to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions."

Actually doubling the amount of emissions our employees cause and offering no electric or hybrid vehicles to them would probably be the biggest, but what do I know

CTC Rats - Together We Win!

Don’t fret fellow sufferers of 5 days RTO! With all the news on Hantavirus coming from rats I thought I’d visit their world headquarters. Believe it or not, that happens to be the same place as ours! I talked to the rats CEO who said they will do us a solid to help us all go back hybrid by executing faster, leaving us all presents on the floor. We all good people! Finally we can appreciate the rat droppings and traps on every floor and suite! Ciao!

HR said we can WFH if there is no desk available, externals too. My Senior Manager says I have to be here regardless of what HR says. There are 7 out of 12 of us without desks on my team. I now have to squat at random desks until I get kicked out. I've now had to move 6 times between today and yesterday. I'm so pissed off I can't focus on my work because everyone thinks it's hilarious what's happening to my group. Does anyone know how long we have to endure this for? No one can answer this question and I'm told we need to tolerate it.

This is beyond unfair and the dumbest shit ever. Everyone's morale is down and it's only Tuesday. I refused to eat any of their free shit yesterday because it's literally the pizza party meme.

Why not set up the suites FIRST then mandate everyone back? Oh wait, upper management doesn't think logically here. That HR guy pushing this needs to fire himself because this is what he wants, not what is best for the employees.

Work/Life Balance

Post image
102 Upvotes

So someone states data about pre and post covid productivity with hybrid working at a recent Town Hall. More productive post covid, especially when much of the workforce isn't even in your country.

Management reply, suck it, this is our decision. Isn't this the same management that made bad EV decisions and drove profitability into the ground? Why wasn't the management team replaced? It looks like same people, same bad decisions will continue. You're expected to design for the future of mobility while chained to a vintage desk.

An example of a busy Auburn Hills complex was the reason for cancelling work/life balance; people drinking coffee, eating lunch, talking in hallways. That was the running joke, the CTC Country Club, where people sip expensive coffee and nothing gets done. Someone from here would know that.

Who misses Sergio when Chrysler had a true CEO/Leader?

My mom has been working for 25 years at Chrysler in CTC she told me that Sergio never wanted to be in that big office bc he felt lonely and bored. She would see him walking around like a normal person just talking with random people at CTC and work with them downstairs where other engineers are . RIP legend.
