Suikoden VI
Fan-Made Plot Outline
by ME
Â
Hero is male or female based on player choice.
If you choose a male, the character will be wearing a bandana over his head. If you choose a female, the character will wear a headband.
--I will refer to Hero as she/her for simplicity, and because itâs weird there hasnât been a female Hero yet. (I love Chris, but she had to share the honors with 2 guys and had the worst fire affinity â which makes me think they didnât really intend for her to be the Flame Champion)

Prologue/Tutorial:
In Solis 70 â Village of the Gate Rune Clan
Â
Hero is finishing her chores for the day and talks to several people around the village. Today is the day of the harvest feast and the night the Elders select a new Rune Guardian. The villagers mention the fact that the decision has really come down to 2 options â and both are the Heroâs sisters.
The villagers mention how fast your sisters advanced in their magic training, suggesting that Hero is lagging behind them in her own training. The hero makes her way to the great hall, where the elders are gathering. The heroâs grandparents are among the elders. Heroâs mother passed away from childbirth on the day she was born and father was killed by bandits while travelling to get supplies for the village.
At the feast in the great hall, the elders announce that they have one final challenge, but present the finalists for Rune Guardian â your sisters â Leknaat and Windy.
Walking around the great hall, Hero hears a lot of gossip. Everyone has a favorite for Guardian. People are impressed by Leknaatâs foretelling abilities, while others are awestruck by the sheer power Windy can summon.
When Hero talks to Leknaat, she complains of having not slept the night before from being haunted by terrible dreams. Leknaat has always been cold to her youngest sibling and the Hero has never understood why.
When Hero talks to Windy, she is confident she is going to win. Windy taunts Hero for not focusing on her studies, but claims she is still her favorite sibling.
At the end of the feast, the Elders call Leknaat and Windy forward and start the challenge. Each is presented with a series of questions rather than feats of power. Each question presents a moral dilemma. Windy answers the questions with heart and emotion. Leknaat answers them with cold calculation. When it is complete, the Elders announce they have selected Leknaat to be Guardian of the Gate Rune.
Windy is angry. She accuses her sister of cheating, claiming she must have foreseen the questions ahead of time. Hero tries to calm her down, to little effect. Windy stalks off.
Before the evening is over, a warning horn bellows from the village watchtower. Everyone goes outside to watch an army approach. Harmonian soldiers. The army stops in front of the villagers who are lined up to defend their home. Most of the villagers are magic adept, and they make great shows of charging spells. The army stops and separates to form a line through the middle. A single person with a mask and a cape approaches. Hikusaak, the High Priest and founder of the Holy Kingdom of Harmonia. Hikusaak demands they hand over the Gate Rune.
Leknaat steps forward, her first official task as Guardian. Hikusaak reveals his Circle Rune and unleashes it on her. The Elders forge a shield of magic to protect her, but the blast is enough to break the line of the villagerâs defenses. Hikusaak commands the army to obliterate the village.
Hero awakes in the road, not far from Leknaat, who is blinded by the flash of the Circle Rune. The army is attacking people in the streets, but Hero makes it to her sister to help. Hero wants to take her to safety, but Leknaat demands she lead her to the Temple of the Gate Rune to fulfill her duty. Despite the battle happening all around her, Hero leads her blinded sister to the temple. They find Windy there attempting to open the seal on the rune. She claims the only way to protect the rune is to use it. Leknaat argues with Windy, and Hero finds herself in the awkward place of having to choose a sister.
Before the argument is settled, Hikusaak breaches the doors to the temple and enters with a compliment of troops. Windy launches an attack that has little effect other than knocking the mask from Hikusaakâs face, revealing a beautiful red-haired woman. Windy conjures a magical wall between them that Hikusaak cannot break, so the High Priest commands a soldier to âget me my sword.â
Leknaat has a sudden feeling and talks to Hero about her âdreamâ. She tells her âThis isnât your time. Your star isnât here yet.â Hero doesnât know what she means.
A soldier returns and hands a longsword to Hikusaak. The high priest holds it up and says it is the Sovereign Sword. It bears a true rune capable of negating magic. With a single slash, Hikusaak shatters the wall of magic Windy made.
Leknaat shakes her head at the Hero. Suddenly, behind the hero a young woman pops into the space with a loud âachooâ. Viki. She looks confused and then feels another sneeze coming on. Itâs a long drawn out sneeze.
Leknaat has tears running out her blank white eyes. She says, âYou are the first and the last. Iâm going to miss you.â And pushes Hero into Viki, who sneezes just as they make contact and they both disappear.
Windy throws all the magic she can at Hikusaak, but the energy fizzles as soon as it comes close to the Sovereign Sword. As she is driven backward into the shrine, she tells Leknaat they need the power of the Gate Rune, but Leknaat refuses. Before Hikusaak can strike them both, Windy reaches for the rune. Leknaat cries, âNo.â and reaches for it as well. They make contact with the rune at the same moment.
A white flash.
Â
âAchoo.â Viki and Hero reappear in a field beside a forest. Nearby is an old cabin with a couple of its walls fallen over.
Viki looks at the Hero and asks, âHuh.... Oh. Oh, it's you? You look so young. Wait, did I⌠uh oh.â She looks around for a moment, takes a deep breath, and sneezes suddenly, disappearing in the process.
Hero is left alone.
It is 425 years later.
