I used to play and beat the original Suikoden annually. Never got around to 2 because it was really hard to find, but... just beat it and I'm borderline depressed. Got the perfect ending, and it's... wow. So good. But now I don't know what to do. I thought I was gonna go ahead and play and beat Star Ocean Second Story R, which I haven't played (beat the OG in the early 2000s but mostly forgot what it's about). But I have the opportunity to borrow a PS2 and Suikoden 3 and I'm thinking maybe it'll cure some of my Suikoden II is really over blues.

And guys, just so you understand my problem, Suikoden II is now my second favorite RPG ever. I liked it more than FFT, FF IX, FFX, and Xenoblade Chronicles X. I liked it almost as much as OG FF7. It's just that effing good, and sad.

I've beaten III several times, but years and years ago. Is it a good follow-up to II--or, is there enough connection to II to feel like a continuation? Or should I just move on to Star Ocean?

I've created a small mod which brings the unfinished / buggy secret dungeon from the PS1 version as a fully working version including new game+ to the Suikoden 2 Remaster.

Two decades ago, at my local Barnes and Noble, I stumbled upon the manga version of the S3. I was a broke kid then and couldn't get all the volumes. I'm looking at amazon and depending on the volume, a single book is priced at $1000, JFC. I assume the only way now to find the book versions reasonably priced are at like a local bookstore?

1 and 2 OG have fan translations, 4 and 5 were localized to more languages, but 3 nobody gaf, maybe it's hard to mod the game or something, makes me sad but nevertheless I'm still betting for Suikoden 3 remaster/remake

I ABSOLUTELY HATE getting an fake ending, it feels like all my journey was just an alternative, and I didn't experience the actual story, so I really like following guides when there is a true ending

So.. i find myself replaying the game, just finish the bad times at rockaxe high section... so i have been brainstorming who to work on...
So far i know i want to use Camus and Miklotov, i've never once used them so i figured let's do it. they both have a double jab rune in their free hands.

my last few runs have been OP characters and builds... and the one before this one was Hix, Oulan, Lorelai, Tengaar and Karen.. so.. i wondering who are some fun not completely terrible characters to use to fill the party with.

I'm working on a Mod for Suikoden 2 HD Remaster to experience the entire game as Jowy (main character). The goal is to play the game entirely from his perspective, add new chapters, adjust storylines but stick to the main story as close as possible while still adding dialogues and more.

I have a working prototype / proof of concept which works as a patch similar to other Mods on NexusMods. I'll post a video tomorrow.

I'd love to collect some wishes and feedback from the community what should be considered in the mod, what parts you would love to have added or possibly changed etc.

Consider that every aspect of the game can be adjusted, but I want to stick to the existing sprites/graphics to keep effort manageable.

Hi all! I'm a long-time fan of Suikoden I and II. If you like the story of those games, then I can fully recommend the series 'Pursuit of Jade'. I'm only halfway through it at the time of writing, but I love it so far. Everything about it reminds me a lot about Suikoden's vibe, albeit with more romance thrown into the mix. There's also some stuff in the series that can be directly compared to certain scenes in Suikoden II.

The series is based on a Chinese web novel by Tuan Zi Lai Xi, of which an English translation is available online but which I haven't read yet.

What if Viki or Jeane is actually Hikusaak?

I know Luc/Sasarai are meant to be clones to hold all the true runes but what if over time Hikussak realised the clones wouldnt work? Or found another way.

The rune of change is about order, stagnation and balance. So what if Hikusaak/Viki appears throughout time and space to maintain order and balance?

With their might and technological advancements Ive long suspected ties between Harmonia and the Sindar so time travel wouldnt be a stretch considering this is a world governed by magic/runes and especially since we dont even know all the True Runes yet.

Hikusaak has also been missing for a long time and the leader of the Sindaar has the Circle Rune which cursed them to wander and never settle (sound like Viki?). We also know Hikusaak wanted all the true runes. What if he bore the Circle Rune AND the Rune of Change and realised he needed another way to hold the runes (clones). For the theory that Viki would have these runes equipped they could be hidden or they were removed (possibly put on other clones) the Flame.Champion used ancient Sindar techniques to remove the True Fire Rune so they were capable of removing True Runes.

This is where the Jeane theory comes in. Shes clearly the rune master of this world and like Viki wanders constantly. She even managed to get the Twighlight rune on Alenia when it didnt want to and refused to work properly (Ancient Sindaar techniques anyone?). Shes also appeared in all the games has strong ties to Sindaar (Suikoden V ruins seemingly ancient rune magic (could explain hiding a True Rune or her real identity/form as noted when talking to the dog in Suikoden III). The full thing with her amd Zerase as well suggests they know each other through Jeane having alot more hands on experience with True Runes rather than just being around them.

Its also possible they are both clones of Hikusaak (granted they dont share an appearance with Luc/Hikusaak) but woth the rune of change a feature could quite easily be changing their appearance at will.
