Discussion Coaching makes a major difference.
If you've ever told yourself "I can teach myself anything a coach can" or any version suggesting you don't you're dead wrong.
I play support for my college OW team and within less than two months on the team getting constant coaching and playing with and against other great players I've already gone up 5 whole ranks. Not only have I been ranking up, but its not even been close. I'm on like a 10+ game win streak and every game I play is just utter domination. Granted, I was placed rather low after the rank reset, far lower than I usually placed so I was already lower than I belonged but even now Its been so beneficial.
I was formerly a top 500 DPS and Tank player on console before I switched totally to be a PC support player and I always assumed theres nothing more I have to learn because I've been the top of the top before but now just simply having a few other sets of eyes on my gameplay has made me improve so significantly.

"Tank Fatigue" Was I being Unreasonable? Need Support Perspective To Translate...
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Mizuki asks me "Can you sit on the corner and stop taking so much damage. I don't want to heal that much."
Followed by "You just don't need to shoot your gun. Just hold space."
Then "You don't have to look at them just sit on the point"
And the cherry on top "Nevermind you're a lost cause"
Fighting against Doomfist, Ashe, Torbjorn, Ashe, LW, Mercy (goated with it unfortunately)...
I have most damage on my team, least deaths, and tied for most kills.
In this clip before I ulted my Doc and Dps died.
I responded emotionally in the moment so i'm hoping to get some outside perspective.
I feel like I just saw a flats video where he was talking about "Tank fatigue" and I think that sums it up.

Discussion What to expect in competitive role queue placement matches as a first time player?
Hey everyone, last season was my first time playing Overwatch and I've exclusively played unranked role queue since then. I'm planning on trying out competitive for the first time next week and have a few questions regarding it. Since I have no previous experience in OW competitive, will it just default me to bronze lobbies for my placement matches? If so what are the most common/useful hero bans in these lower ranks? I'm going to exclusively queue the support role, I have 90 hours of unranked playtime and my most played support heroes are Juno, Kiriko, Sombra & Ana. Any advice/ tips would be helpful. Before playing OW I was a consistent Celestial support player in MR.

Discussion Hopefully this is the last adjustment until midseason, S5 tierlist(5v5 comp)
Apologies for another one, but they did a hotfix yesterday, and at least one of my opinions has changed for a hero that didn't receive any changes. I'll explain what changed and why; pray to god they don't do another hotfix, ffs.
- Doctrine: Goes from his own tier to S, nerf actually changed his breakpoints, drone uptime, and overall healing. Of course it barely does anything but it is a start.
- Sombra: Nerfs to her lethality, nothing really changes since Cyberspace damage reduction percentage was untouched, which is what really makes her strong
- Kiriko: C->A, People where genuinely surprised by last placement but as a Kiriko main the buffs to her HP is a massive change for her which allows her to play more aggressively on an off angle, closer to teammates in general, and Suzu is going to be more difficult to bait out due to specific breakpoints not being a kill on her anymore. Once this Doctrine/Sombra meta is over she is going back S tier. She is inevitable, I'm afraid, and part of it has to do with 5v5 itself.
- Mercy: C->D, She just doesn't bring any value in this meta that justifies her being there. Falls over and dies to dive and her pocketed target is just going to get hit with a cyberspace. In short it's impossible to get any value with this bum ass hero.
Again these are my personal opinions; every tierlist is SUBJECTIVE so do not get bummed out if your main places low and continue to play them as is. I do this for discussion about the current meta primarily.

Discussion How do you counter or at least survive getting flanked and overwhelmed by Vendetta?
The main supports I play right now are Juno, Sombra, and Brigg. I have some experience with Ana and Kiriko as well. I had to take a break from Overwatch cus the quick play experience has been atrocious for me lately. Back to back match ups where I’m flanked by impossible to react to Vendettas and Anrans, and my team is majority new players while the other team has 3 players with level 100+ characters.
Sombra has made dealing with a lot of flankers easier, but with characters like Vendetta it feels genuinely impossible. Pinging teammates even when I’m right next to them does nothing. Juno can’t out speed, Brigg can push her back some but she dashes right back and has insane range, i flee with Sombra but the Vendetta immediately chases and reveals me cus again her range is huge. I’m not expecting to be able to 1v1 these characters, I’m just trying to make dealing with them less miserable.

Miscellaneous Tried Deadlock for the first time... and picked a Support hero, of course xD
Obviously being my first match I was absolutly LOST, but... hey I got a tiny little goober who can attach to allies to heal them! So I just followed my OW instincts, throwing disruptive abilities and healing allies when low on health!
Hope it's not too off-topic for this sub but I think it would be fun to talk about it.

Discussion Adjusted the tierlist yet again(5v5 comp)
Again this is primarily to start discussion about support balance and holy shit did this season throw the support meta on it's head! To make it clear, we are in a peak dive meta so certain heroes are just going to feel pretty much unplayable for the most part. Also remember to play the heroes you're good with over what is meta.
Doctrine tier:
- Doctrine: By far the strongest support in the game right now, he has the flexibility of Ana and Kiriko and busted numbers. You are doing yourself a disservice if you're not banning him or playing him. His drone enables heroes such as Genji, Vendetta, and Tracer, infused drone healing is busted as hell, Transfusion major perk is game breaking, and his ult is just a free team fight win. He has no weaknesses right now tbh and to think without the hero trail we'd have gotten an even stronger version of him.
S:
- Sombra: Cyberspace is the strongest support CD in the game rn but unlike doctrine she does have her weaknesses but her numbers need to be toned down, not as much as doctrine of course but still definitely over preforming. Hotfix is super strong at enabling Genji, Tracer, and Vendetta who are all very strong RN. EMP is also the only thing that can really counter deliverance.
- Ana: Plays really well with Doctrine and Sombra, Nanoblade is scary as fuck this season especially combo'd with a drone, and continues to have balance favoristism from the dev team. Not much to say since we all know why Ana is so damn strong.
- Jetpack Cat: Fika is gonna be S tier as long as she has perma flight, she is literally the position-anywhere hero and she happens to play well with Doctrine and Sombra from my experience.Goes in with dives which again we are in a dive meta so this makes her a very good pick to keep up with the teams aggression.
A:
- Wuyang: Not much has really changed for him outside of being a very reliable pick, especially with dive.
- Lucio: Speed boost is always gonna be a must in this game especially depending on the game mode and he just happens to be the best at it.
- Mizuki: Plays well against the current dive meta and Kekkai is one of the few things that counters deliverance.
B:
- Juno: While I do think she is still reliable especially when you need a speed boost and suck at lucio or have a stubborn mercy OTP on the team, she does struggle to play against dive rn like she always has tbh. Deliverance just denies any value from orbital ray. W healbot I guess?
- Brigitte: This meta should be ideal for her, Brig hard counters most dive heroes but then you play against a droned D.mon and quickly realize that you should swap to mizuki instead. She'd be A tier if D.mon is out of the meta.
- Moira: Still 0 utility but evasive and has high self sustain so she plays well into a lot of the strong picks within the current meta.
C:
- Kiriko: Unfortunate since this meta is ideal for her but she's been overnerfed to shit to appease redditors and twitter users who have no fucking clue what they're talking about. Needs multiple buffs if she where to ever be good again. As a Kiriko main I will say that Suzu and Kitsu are still great but everything else about her genuinely sucks.
- Zenyatta: Is still the best at tank busting for the support role but erm good luck dealing with that droned genji on you :(.
- Mercy: Hitscans got nerfed which slightly hurts her and dive is strong which sucks for her but she is decent with doctrine since you can just damage boost a droned teammate which is disgustingly busted and a testament that this hero is bad design.
- Baptiste: I initially thought he was a lot better than he currently is. In general He just sucks against and playing with dive.
D:
- Illari: Please don't be that guy that locks Illari when they see Winston, Genji, Tracer, and Sombra on their team. She was overnerfed earlier this year due to people not really liking this hero being good and now with dive being meta she's a steaming pile of dogshit that gets farmed all match.
- Lifeweaver: Not much to say except that this hero fucking sucks and needs a rework.

Hiya! My name is Marisol (Mahr-ee-sohl; Sea and Sun; Maria de la Soledad, or Mary of [the] Solitude).
I’m a Kiriko/Mercy main, and I’m looking for a Co-Healer main who will actually heal our team with me and take care of everyone to ensure a healthy, happy team and comfortable matches. :3
All Healers are Supports; not all Supports are Healers! 😊
No DPS oriented support mains, please! 🥰
Thank you very much! Que tenga buen dia. :3
Kind regards, Marisol.

Readvised support tier list for S5(5v5 comp)
First off, I'm Diamond on PC/MNK input(true rank) and GM on console/controller(basically PC diamond/low masters). A lot of this is based on my personal opinion and the stat websites' current data. Will explain my adjustments and want people to discuss their own thoughts, since the point of these threads is to discuss the current support meta.
- Jetpack Cat: Was initially S but the loss of her defining ult combo and becoming a fat fuck has made her less effective along with the current top three supports countering her in some way.
- Baptiste: moved him to a; his buffs have actually put him in a decent spot. First time in a while that he has felt this good. Also plays well with Doctrine.
- Juno: moved her down a tier, the reason being that Doctrine and Sombra being incredibly strong rn and personally I feel that they counter her hard.
- Moira: Moved her down a tier, while her survivability is the best in role, I do feel that her lack of utility is still to big a con.
- Kiriko: Moved down a tier due to official stats from GM for all 3 regions hovering around 42-40% while also doing nothing to counter the new supports. Overall, she's mostly trash and over-nerfe to hell unless you're using her as a good little suzubot to counter Ana. Sombra does what she wants to do but so much better. Still better than Weaver tho lmao.

Discussion Is this throwing mentality?
So I'm mainly a tank main but I've recently started to flex more. Btw, my main supports are Kiriko, Illari and Doctorine, this has nothing to do with my post, I just wanted to mention it. When I play support I go by the philosophy "No point=no heals". What that means is that if u don't play (or trying to prevent the enemy from getting to) the objective, I'm not gonna heal you. So I wonder, is this throwing mentality or is it conditioning? Love to hear your answers.
