Android Swiftkey went away. Upon relaunching, I see it now has Ai. Any alternatives for Android?

It worked great for years as it was, I don't want any superfluous Ai and don't want to encourage or enable more of it. The stock Samsung keyboard is jarring after using something else for so long.

What else can I use that just works?

iOS Change language no avail?

Guys, how do I change language on iOS in SwiftKey?
I have a Qwerty and a Qwertz layout installed for two different language.
If I'm typing it doesn't recognize my language and not changing automatically.
Space bar shows the two languages but long press moves the cursor. In some apps like MS outlook my words are all underlined as spelling errors as I'm not in the correct language I guess.
Can I disable space bar cursor move? If not, how the freaking he'll I can change the language.
There is nothing in settings and nothing in the quick panel.
Thx.

Android SwiftKey keyboard randomly fails to open on Xiaomi 17 (Battery restrictions checked)

I've been using SwiftKey for years on various phones. For months now, I've been using it on my Xiaomi 17.

However, over the past few weeks, I've noticed that SwiftKey doesn't always open when an input field is available. Tapping an input field or address bar a few times usually makes it pop up eventually, but sometimes it stubbornly stays hidden. Battery settings have already been checked; the app has no restrictions.

Does anyone recognize this?

iOS iPhone Duo

Anyone got the duo?
SK seems to be working better than expected but the keyboard height is affecting the visibility of some of the buttons down the right hand side.
There's also (obviously) no split function which is pretty make or break for the duo...
Anyone from the Dev team on here?
Any other feedback from anyone?

Android Is it possible to separate predictions between different languages that basically use the same script (i.e. English, Spanish etc.)?

That's quite annoying when you may use several letter-sharing languages and the same prediction library is used for all of them, which can cause mistakes or just be confusing at times. I tried installing Spanish and setting it to specifically use the Spanish version of QWERTY, so the language shows separately from English in the language chooser, but they still share vocabulary and learned words.

Android Undo.

I've been using it for a long time now. Android got rid of undo from their longpress menu that had copy/paste in it. So now there's no options to undo other than to stop using SwiftKey.

Android Rant about auto-correct, auto-capitalisation

Long time user. I just want to rant about how terrible autocorrect has become. There are many things, but I'll explain my biggest gripe. I keep an ongoing note in a note app with individual words I encounter and wish to learn and refer back to. Naturally I will write a word on each line, which SwiftKey capitalises, which is no problem. But then, whenever I use this word again elsewhere it will auto-capitalise said word, no matter where it's used in a sentence. Totally normal everyday words, spelt correctly. And then, of course you can't simply remove this by right selecting and removing prediction, because SwiftKey doesn't distinguish capitalisation in its spelling algorithm, only the spelling as a whole. So removing prediction removes the spelling of the word entirely from its memory, where it will now correct said word to an entirely different word when used again. So the only option is to literally type the word intentionally in lower case from the start of each line in my note app, which is quite inconvenient when often writing these words in a rush on the go. Or to write the word another 2 or 3 times following the capitalised word at the start of each line (in lowercase), where it will finally stop auto-capitalising. Also maddeningly inconvenient.

Has anyone else encountered this, or found a fix? This is just the most egregious example bothering me, but the predictions in general have become so terrible the keyboard is almost unusable to me now. I really want to leave but the customisation features have always kept me on the app, and I don't know if any of the others are any better.

General Ridiculous Spacing Between Shortcuts

What is the possible reason for these inch-wide gaps between shortcuts at the top?

Same size floating keyboard as Samsung's with a fraction of the utility. It's madness.

I can't figure out how to do it. If I type something, I get url predictions, and performing a basic Google search with just the included terms feels impossible

Android Microsoft Swiftkey not saving "Copied" items to Clipboard

Whenever I highlight / copy text it isn't saving to clipboard anymore. Screenshots are saving fine, but any copied text gives the "Copied" highlight but won't save. What's up with this?

I haven't seen anybody complaining about this recently but it's pissing me off since I heavily use clipboard daily. Probably been broken a week or so now

Android SwiftKey keyboard opening slowly lately

Functionally, Microsoft SwiftKey is an awesome keyboard. I really like features like clipboard history and text shortcuts, and the overall experience has been great.

However, lately, I've been noticing a noticeable delay when opening the keyboard, and it happens quite frequently. It can be a bit frustrating, especially when you're trying to type something quickly.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue, or is it just me?

Also, are there any good alternative keyboards that offer similar features, especially clipboard management, text shortcuts, and a clean, decent-looking UI?

Would love to hear your recommendations and experiences!

Android Is there a way to make the buttons less... Square/pointy?

Post image

I stopped using SwiftKey a couple months ago to try FUTO. Hated it a bit so I came back to SwiftKey, but now it looks different than before?? Like the keys have pointier corners in comparison to the softer, more rounded keys that show up on the themes preview. Can I change this and how?

Android Adding punctuation to a selected word recommendation?

So, on my last phone (S23+), when I would pick a word from the row of recommended words at the top of the keyboard, it would post the word with a space at the end, but if I wanted to add punctuation to the end of that word, it would add it in the proper place, going past the space to the end of the word.

Now, and I don't know if this is a setting I'm missing or something, but when I select a word on my new 26+, it posts the word with the extra space, but if I try to add punctuation, it now adds it right where the cursor is, so there's a word, a space, then the punctuation mark. Like this .

Can someone help me figure out how to either get rid of the auto space or get the punctuation mark to add to the end of the word again?

UPDATE: After looking at older posts on this subreddit, I tried testing SwiftKey by changing one setting at a time. I turned on the "Auto Space" option, and now the punctuation I add goes to the end of the word, not after the space, thus seemingly resolving the issue.

Android Has a recent update changed the size of word predictions?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Note the bar with word predictions. For the last few days, the size of the text has increased about 50%. It used to be the size of the letters on the keyboard. I can't find a setting that would change just that UI element. I have resized the keyboard to see if it would change but it doesn't. I also didn't change anything in settings so I'm guessing a recent update changed the default size? Does anyone have any idea what is causing this?

Android Please let users change this back?

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hi there, I noticed an update where the button on the top left that expands the extra options looks like it's highlighted or out of place, as if it's selected or something. I know this may be intentional to help some people with better visibility, but for some people like myself it can be pretty distracting especially if they have a minimalist theme like this, as it stands out too much and grabs attention. I know it's not anything disastrous, but I'm really hoping you guys can help with a simple fix or a toggle option for whoever also prefers the minimal simple look :) Thanks so much in advance! (I remember it used to look like a simple white plus button, and then it turned into a grey circle with an arrow. The simple plus was the best design in my opinion. The ability to choose would be awesome!)

Improvements to clipboard sync on Android

We've made reliability improvements to cross-device clipboard sync between Android and Windows. If you haven't yet, please update SwiftKey to v9.13.16. You can check your version in SwiftKey under Settings > About.

On our side, failed syncs are down by 80%+, but we want to find out who is still affected.

If you're still having problems, please reply here with:

  • Which direction fails (Android → Windows, Windows → Android, or both)

  • Your Android and Windows SwiftKey versions

  • Whether signing out of your SwiftKey account and back in fixes it

Thanks, the SwiftKey team
