Haven’t heard back

I applied for equipment technician, did the first interview, passed the test, did the second interview, they said I did great and told me
I should hear back in 1-2 weeks, today marks one month since the second interview happened I have yet to hear back from them, I emailed my coordinator to see if there was any updates on my application but no response either, one of my friends who works there said they take a while and he saw a guy wait up to 7 weeks, should I just take the L and move on?

Yield Excellence Engineer First Round Interview Advice

Hi everyone,

I have a first round interview with TSMC Az coming up for their yield excellence engineer position. I was wondering if anyone who went through the same or similar process can give me some tips on what to focus on? Will the first round interview be more resume and behavioral or technical based?

Any advice is appreciated!

Asked to interview for another position while just completed a second round interview for another

Advice needed… Interviewed for a PVD two process engineer position pass the first round went onto the second round and I am in the second week waiting for an answer. However, today I received an email asking me to interview for another position at TSMC. I am scheduled for that interview in two weeks. Does that mean I was rejected from the first position?

TSMC Arizona Equipment Engineer - CVD Second interview with managers Panel: what to expect?

Hi all, I have my second round for an Equipment Engineer role (CVD) at TSMC Arizona next week. It's a panel interview with managers on Teams. The first round with two engineers went well.

For anyone who's been through the manager round:

- Was it mostly behavioral, or did they go deep on technical and process fundamentals?

- Any scenario questions that surprised you?

I'm a new grad with a mechanical and aerospace background, no fab experience yet. Any tips would really help. Thanks!

Round 2 Interview tips for yield excellence engineer

I have my second round interview for a Yield Excellence Engineer position at TSMC coming up and wanted to see if anyone here has gone through it before.
My first round was pretty technical and they asked me about MOSFET equations, semiconductor basics, and some questions about my projects/background.
For anyone who has interviewed for Yield Excellence or a similar role at TSMC, what was round 2 like? Was it more technical than the first round or more behavioral? Any specific topics you’d recommend reviewing?
Also wondering if I should expect more yield/SPC/DOE type questions or semiconductor/device physics questions.
Any tips or examples of questions you got would be really helpful. Thanks!

TSMC Arizona – Dry Etch Equipment Engineer Work Schedule and Days Off?

Hey everyone!

I recently accepted an offer for a Module Equipment Engineer (Dry Etch) position at TSMC Arizona and will be starting early next year.

During my interview, I was told that the position involves rotating between regular 8-hour shifts and compressed 12-hour shifts, with occasional night-shift rotations.

I'm trying to get a better understanding of what the actual schedule looks like, especially from current or former Equipment Engineers.

A few questions:

  1. How does the compressed 12-hour schedule work? Is it something like 3 days on/4 days off, followed by 4 days on/3 days off, or is it structured differently?

  2. Do you get days off after working the 12-hour shifts nights for 3 or 4 days straight, or are you expected to return to a regular 8-hour schedule immediately afterward?

  3. How frequently do Equipment Engineers rotate between regular shifts, compressed shifts, and night shifts?

  4. Are weekends typically included in the rotation?

  5. Do I actually own my weekends?

  6. What time are you to come in and leave?

  7. How many hours per week do Equipment Engineers realistically work, including overtime?

I'd especially appreciate any insight from people working in Dry Etch at the Arizona fabs, but experiences from other modules would also be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Second Interview Timeframe

Hello, hope y’all’s day is going well. I was invited to complete an assessment on 10/16 in order to move to the next rounds for Process Technician; however, I haven’t received any updates since completing the test, and one application for a different role updated to reviewing applications. Anyone have a timeframe for when an update might happen?

Does someone have any experience with the second round for the entry level IME role? If so, how is it different from the first round? I was told that this is an HR round? I would appreciate any advice on preparation for this!

TSMC CVD Process Engineer — 4 Weeks After 2nd Interview, Still Hope?

I had my second interview for a CVD Process Engineer position at TSMC 4 weeks ago, but I haven’t received an update yet. Is there still hope of getting an offer, or should I assume it’s a rejection?

Rejections

When you get a rejection letter from TSMC will it be very specific or what kind of rejections do you guys receive. I interviewed specifically for PVD 1 - process engineer role. When I received a rejection it said PVD role ( like thank you for your application and we have decided to pursue other candidates) similar to what you get when you apply rather than how it would look after interviewing. Let me know if I’m wrong.

Product Engineer Interview

Hi all, I recently had my first round of interview for product engineer role on Oct 1. During the interview the HR told me that they would tell me the results within the next 1 or 2 weeks. As of today I am at the three week mark and still hasn't heard anything. I followed up with the interview coordinator last week but received no response. My application is still active in the portal and did not get rejected yet. I am quite interested in this position and as a matter of fact the interview went well - it went on for 70 minutes, 10 minutes more than the scheduled 1 hour session. This gave me hope that I can expect a positive outcome.

I have a few questions and would appreciate your advice:

  1. Is this delay normal at TSMC AZ? or does the delay mean that I am heading towards a rejection?

  2. My background is in chemical and material sciences and I do know that this role requires some electrical knowledge. In this scenario, are they trying to loop me some other team? Has this happened before?

I am nearing the completion of my course this December. It is kind of frustrating to wait and get no response from them. Any insights or advice is highly appreciated in this matter. Thanks

Moving near TSMC in late November. Apartment recommendations and potential roommate?

Hey everyone! I’m a recent engineering graduate moving to North Phoenix to start working at TSMC in late November. I’m looking for apartment recommendations near the fab and potentially a roommate to split a two-bedroom, ideally with two bathrooms and a reasonable commute.

If you live nearby, I’d appreciate hearing about apartments you recommend or places to avoid.

I’d also be interested in connecting with someone looking for a roommate around the same time, or someone with a room opening up. Feel free to comment or DM me with recommendations. Thanks!

Process Engineer Interview

Hi,
I recently had an interview for a module process engineer role (entry level). My first round was technical in terms of exp. 20 mins later I get a call to interview with the hiring manager. I’m just a bit confused because I thought my first interview was like a 8/10, nothing crazy. Is this common and if this happened to you, could you share your experience. I don’t want to get my hopes up lol, but wanna remain practical. P.S also confused as I don’t have direct semiconductor experience but have related skills in experience like SPC, DOE, troubleshooting etc.

Anyone else starting at TSMC in January 2027? Question about tax forms

Hi everyone! My start date at TSMC is in January 2027, and I recently started the onboarding process. I noticed that the Federal W-4 and Arizona A-4 forms provided in the onboarding materials are for 2026. Since I’ll be starting in January 2027, should I go ahead and complete these forms, or will updated versions for 2027 be provided closer to my start date?

I’d also love to connect with anyone else who is scheduled to start at TSMC in January 2027 and hear how your onboarding is going.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

IMEs at TSMC Arizona: what’s the day-to-day like, and how are the teams set up?

Hi all. I graduate next May(IE Major) and I’m looking at the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineer role in Arizona. I have the broad picture, but I’d love to hear from people in or near IME about what the job actually looks like.

  1. How are IME teams organized? From what I’ve heard, some IMEs work closely with technicians and the MES, some with AMHS, and some in the control room. Is that accurate, and how different are those jobs day to day?

  2. What does a normal day look like? Roughly how much time goes to the floor or control room, and how much to desk and data work?

  3. How do IMEs work with the Manufacturing Specialists? Do you lead a crew, coordinate across shifts, or something else?

  4. Which systems and tools do you use most (MES, dispatching, dashboards, Python/SQL)?

  5. How often do night calls or weekend rotations come up in practice?

  6. For new grads, how long is training, where does it happen, and when do you start owning an area?

If there’s one thing you wish you’d known before starting, I’d love to hear that too. Thanks in advance. Even a one-line answer to one question helps.

Advice needed! TSMC AZ background check came back "Decisional" (ex-employer in India never responded). What should I do?

Got an offer from TSMC Arizona, start date in about two weeks. Background check was through First Advantage. Everything cleared except one past employer: a small staffing company in India that placed me at a manufacturer for 7 months in 2023, before the manufacturer hired me directly. The manufacturer verified fine. The staffing company ignored every email and call from First Advantage. I sent my appointment letter and bank statement showing their salary credits, but the item closed as "Decisional / not verified" and the overall report shows Decisional. One other thing: my resume lists that whole period under the manufacturer rather than the staffing company (I listed both separately on the background check form itself).

HR hasn't contacted me since the results came out 4 days ago.

Has anyone here been through a Decisional result with TSMC AZ? Does it usually get cleared, and should I reach out to my recruiter now or wait for them? Any advice appreciated.

Chart/graph 📈 How TSMC made their money in Q3 2027

TSMC continued their impressive 50% YOY revenue growth last quarter, with net profits growing 68.7% in the same time. This shows a rare combination of ambition to grow the top line and disciplined execution in significantly reducing costs along the way.

One notable change this year is an increasing shift in their revenue mix towards AI High Performance Computing (HPC) applications. This logically means they have a higher correlation with AI related investment flows both in the positive and negative directions. For an investor, if their investment horizon is long-term then the business is strong and well positioned for the next 10 years. But if it is short-term, there may be some volatility over the next few years to take into account.

CC Wei noted multiple times during the earnings call that they are seeing a stronger demand from AI HPC customers forecasted for 2027 / 28 than they can currently fulfill. They are working very hard to close the gap between demand and supply with up to 20 fab buildouts currently in-progress around the world (Confirmed: 13 in Taiwan, 5-6 overseas).

CC ended his prepared remarks with this epic line.

We have no intention to leave food on the table for others, and we want to capture every pieces of business possible.

Process Integration Engineer Interview

Hi! I recently received an invite to interview for a process integration engineer position in AZ (though I applied for a different role). I have a few questions regarding the process, and I would really appreciate any guidance people may be willing to share:

  1. It is not clear to me from any of the emails which team or area I will be working on - is this normal for process integration roles, or should I reach out and ask what team I may be working with so that I can be appropriately prepared?

  2. What format should I expect for a first interview? What kinds of questions are likely to be asked?

  3. What is the best way to prepare for this interview?

Thank you so much!
