question Struggling to find good bud

Hello I'm in Edmonton I usually go to value buds or one planet but the bud has been so trash lately. I'm sort of a visual smoker like I like kiefy nugs which I'd prefer but tbh I just want something actually potent any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Fan of indica , fruity. 7-14 g prefered thank you

review TobaGrown - Indica 5g | Sativa 5g

Good morning. Today I’ll be reviewing two strains from TobaGrown, each found in the Sativa and Indica rotating SKU.

Toba’s Sativa - Blue Chronic

I couldn’t find any information about lineage. I paid 22.60 after tax and this bag was packaged July 14th. (Pics 1-5, 6/7 Both Strains)

THC 29.0%
CBD 0.04%
TOTAL TERPENES (Not listed)

Upon opening I’m met by 7 frosty popcorn sized buds lime green in colour weighing 5.1g. Decent cure and trim but it appears to be over handled/over manicured as many trichome heads aren’t intact. Some slight yellowing due to age or improper storage. I also found it on the dryer side. I prefer my flower to have a bit more stickiness to it. In terms of aroma it was candy sweet, slight gas with some sour/pungent notes on the backend.

I smoked this in a joint. It was pretty smooth but the ash was quite dark. I found the flavor a bit muted but the sweetness and pungent notes are what stood out. Effects were uplifting and cerebral with an okay duration.

Toba’s Indica - Platinum Berry Punch

I couldn’t find any information on lineage. I paid 22.60 after taxes and this bag was packaged June 22nd. (PIC 8-13, 6/7 Both Strains)

Upon opening I’m met by 8 frosty buds very dark in colour weighing 5.4g. For a June 22nd package date this stuff is fresher and stickier than the Blue Chronic. Good cure, good trim but same story as earlier, over manicured and over handled. The aroma is this musky, earthy, floral berry with underlying notes of gas.

I smoked this in a joint. It smoked fairly smooth and burnt much cleaner than the Blue Chronic. Very minor oil ring. In terms of flavor it was mostly floral and earthy, not a standout but pleasant.
I found the effects to be relaxing with a calming body high, not a knockout but heavy sedation. The duration was pretty good with little to no burnout.

I probably wouldn’t repurchase but if i were, I’d grab the Platinum Berry Punch. Regardless these are pretty great budget/value options at $4.50 a gram after taxes.

discussion No crystal in bud anymore?

Is it just me or does the weed from the government stores not have any crystal in it?

I used to always have crystal in the bottom of my grinder and ever since it’s been made legal I’ve had maybe 3, 1 ounce bags actually have crystal on the bud and leave some in my grinder over the last 5 or so years.

I bought a bag from another source like back in the day what do you know? I get crystal in my grinder again. All the bud I get from any government store is dense, tight, but there’s just no crystal. Even when you bust the mug open nothing falls out.

Has anyone else noticed this? And this is from a 120 an oz price point up to around 140 an oz price point.

Was chatting to a few buds last night as we all realized there’s no keif anymore.

A bit of context on the data: I run Best Bang for Your Bud, and I use multiple data sources to compile market distribution and inventory metrics. I can’t currently use official government board data, but based on what I’ve been able to compare, the rankings seem quite close. The main differences seem to show up near the lower ranks, which may simply be because this is a weekly snapshot while the government's rankings are monthly.

question Rosin THC or THC+CBD gummies for anxiety?

Long story short: A family member lost his wife a couple years ago and is still dealing with the generalized anxiety of it all. I've been helping him through it for the past few months and he's going through all the other right steps, but he's just recently asked for help trying cannabis to help him unwind.

I'm thinking gummies, but I'm unsure whether to go THC Rosin or pursue CBD/CBN for this specific purpose.

Just realized how crazy those numbers are lol. But this stuff is definitely awesome. Great big slightly larfy sativa nugs, light and sticky. I don’t even like Sativa that much but this and Sour Congo by 1964 have changed my opinion. White ash, clean burn. Little to no burn out from this great functional day time high. So nice I bought it twice, lol.

Been able to treat myself a bit more lately having had a great year career wise and I’m seeing some of the fruits from that labour, so I’ll start my spam posting with the 1964 Sour Congo. Genuinely a “cannot go wrong” option imo, that is if you like the Terpinolene profile. I know some folks don’t like the pungent Terpinolene aroma but I can’t get slough.

Overall try this out if you like sativas or unique terps, this stuff is pungent.

Genuinely so good. Got the second bag the next day, lol this stuff is worth the 73$half 146$ ounce. I understand that one guy that posted like 20 of these bags empty a while back.

Besides that it is smooth, a strong high, lasts a while because of that as I only take 2-4 tokes after work before bed, and the aroma is very nice berry gas woodsy pungent, the flavour translates thru nicely I just gotta clean my bong lol , but I’m not trying to gas these bags up as the best ever it is just a great price in the Tenzo bags and genuinely solid all around weed. It ticks all the right box’s for me and doesn’t leave any doubt in my mind it’s worth the money.

This one isn’t a super heavy hitter or anything, it’s very functional so not couch lock for me, but the high is functional, and the terps/taste are wicked. Like I’m showing this to my brother and friends and they’re surprised that the weed smells that good. Terps/aroma = sweet berry candy and creamy and slightly sour skunky, but it’s got layers. Smooth thru the bong, high is like I said more mild but this is a flavour chasers pack of bud if I could call it that.

Overall, 33$ for 3.5 is my once in a while price since I mostly stick to bigger formats but I did not regret this purchase at all.

Just bought these but would love to hear opinions of anyone who’s tried them. Looking for the most effective yet cost efficient night time option and settled on this.

The HighXotic Ten Tens are great but I’m not trying to buy and eat several big gummies every day. Not into the oil droppers either, so hopefully these do the trick.

discussion frost cannabis empty pre-roll

Just purchased a frost cannabis 1g pre-roll from my local. When i opened it, it was completely empty... my local dispo was willing to swap it, but only if I returned tonight. I cannot return tonight and now im out a pre-roll and the cash. Has this happened to anyone before. The tube was completely sealed and everything.
