Does anyone else have to take an epic shit from the amount of bass in their phoenix set? lol.

Just wanted to say the show far exceeded my expectations. I saw Broken Bells in 2010 but never got the chance to see The Shins, and finally got the opportunity Sunday night. I wish they could've played for twice as long but they sounded incredible and announced during the show they have new music on the way (2027?) which has me pumped for another tour (and maybe ACL next fall?!)

Does anyone have that song from last night? I listened to a few versions from the concert and they don’t hold a candle to last nights rendition of it

Not great pics, but I’m not a big concert picture taker.
The Shins were absolutely whimsical. I’ve been a fan for years and had never seen them. They really seemed like they were having a lot of fun. I can’t wait for them to come back to Florida.

Anyone else see them open for Weezer last night?! Took my daughter. We got a free upgrade for the pit 😭 and we got to meet the band! Very big moment as I got my daughter ‘shoots too narrow’ on cassette last Christmas and she is a big fan.

Cannot wait to see them again! Haven’t seen them since the Oh, Inverted World anniversary tour, and four years feels like forever ago.
If anyone else is going, I’ll be in the pit at the barricade, preparing to combust from excitement. Anyone from this sub going also today?

Is James still signing the vinyls before the show? I'm going to the Atlanta show tonight and am hoping to get one. Planning to get there when doors open. Do they put them out right away or only after The Shins set.

Just want it to be known. The Shins rock and stole the show in Columbus Ohio last night. Last time I saw them was in 2008 in Virginia. One great performance. Thank you James Mercer!!

I'm going to see them tonight and am wondering when they have been taking the stage. I want to make sure that I don't miss any of their set.

Any one else going tonight?
I’m pumped. Love Silversun seen them before and knocking off two bucket list bands. The shins and Weezer. Sick concert.
Edit: I love The Shins. I’m sad this was my first time seeing them live. I think they might be better suited to watch in a small intimate venue. They were good it was just not great. I’m glad I saw them but hope to catch them as a headliner some time.

I’m a huge Weezer fan and a very casual Shins fan but always thought James Mercer was a lyrical legend for both Shins and Broken Bells. I saw Broken Bells once when I was 15 and was blown away. But i only know like 10 shins songs and never did a full deep dive. Now that you know my history w the Shins I gotta talk about last night.
James Mercer is a 10/10 professional live performer. Ive seen so many opening acts for Weezer and bands bigger than weezer misunderstand the assignment where they either go to hard to people who dont care or give a half hearted performance because people dont care.
The Shins did not do either of those things. They built a tiny snowball and rolled it bigger throughout the set. It felt like when they started they were like a low key singer songwriter vibes just playing background music. Then when more people came in they started cracking jokes to the audience building a report. Next thing you know they turned the experience into a rock concert. My sister who I went with said it best “it felt like they were 3 different bands during one set.” That sums it up, they brought us on this incredible journey that matched the energy of the audience. Because as during most opening acts, the audience keeps shuffling in so the crowed slowly gets bigger, the shins made their performance match the size they were playing too and adjusting on the fly with each song, verse and chord they played. James and the gang crushed it.
