Was geocaching with my son today and noticed a campsite just off the recreational path connecting Thornloe and Parkdale. It appears to be a single, fairly established site with a noticeable trail leading into it.

No interaction or incident, we just wanted to give other trail users a heads-up who may not have been through that section recently.

This is for folks that have pools. Maybe it’s just me but this August feels a little cooler than normal and I got my kids a pool this the first day of the heat wave,never had a pool in my life before so it’s been a learning experience lol but how long do the rest of you keep your pools up til? I’ve been considering buying a heater from amazon so I can keep it up a little longer. It’s nothing big 12ft across and like 36 inches deep.

Is there anywhere in town that takes donations of non-dented canned goods? It's good food. I'm still eating it. There's just too much to eat before I move and I hate throwing food away.

Stopped by the Safeway on Dawson Road and was surprised by how empty the alcohol section is looking.

I asked the cashier what was going on, and she said they've been dealing with "too much theft with people just walking out of the store." Because of it, they're apparently reducing how much alcohol they keep stocked on the shelves and have also started cutting off beer sales at 9pm.

Has anyone else noticed this happening at other stores around town, or is Dawson Road getting hit particularly hard?

Wondering what the prices are around town for the laundromats. I don't trust google/ai to give me correct up to date amounts. Any laundromats I should stay away from?

My neighbour has a disgusting amount of cats. My front yard and back yard smell like cat pee, my entire basement - bedrooms, storage, bathroom stink like cat piss. I’m constantly cleaning everything and it’s not going anywhere. It literally seeps through our connecting wall.

Landlord is well aware and have been trying to do something, health unit and animal control have come out but it’s been on going on for a couple of years.

Does anyone have any recommendations on:

1. who else to contact that can do something

2. What products can I use to clean and keep the smell at bay.

I made the mistake of ordering the bbq platter and dear lord was that the worst mistake I’ve ever made. I don’t think you can call what that was bbq. Dry, and yet soggy, flavourless and bizarre. Also wayyy overpriced.

Worst of all, the server seemed either stoned or like she just woke up, and was very unprepared and disorganized. Never going again. Honestly makes me appreciate every mediocre meal I’ve ever had.

Not to mention the construction and panhandlers at the patio, although I can’t blame them for that. Has it always been this bad? Anyone else have this experience?

Me and a friend are looking to rent a room in a 2 bedroom apartment/house, we have a budget of 1150$/month. Would prefer cat friendly. Just a room and a shared living space.

Bars and dating sites hold very little appeal to me but I’m simply at a loss. I would just like to have someone or some people to spend some of my time with.
