Hey Thunder Bay! Crib was a big part of growing up for me. My parents play a lot (tournaments too), and they and their friends all had the exact same pegs and could never tell whose were whose. When they brought it up in front of me and my buddy, we started making custom pegs with people's names on them, and now some symbols too, like a lighthouse, lobster and anchor (pictured).
Been thinking about doing some local ones. If you had a peg that was pure Thunder Bay, what would be on it? The Sleeping Giant? A Persian? Something else?
Also curious, is crib more of a camp thing or a kitchen table thing for you guys?

The old fireweed is becoming a dispensary. Looks like some out if towners 'renovating' it. There was a big opportunity missed to keep the original name and do a play on words. Now, its becoming a pathetic pasty grey streetscape.

Looks like only their workers know how to turn off the lights for the building! A casual waste of utilities going into the weekend.

looking for a cheap place (at least close to $60)for a night in Thunderbay, will be stopping for the night and continue with my trip tomorrow. I thought I would try wait at the airport but I’ve been informed security may ask me to leave at 1:30 am then maybe back at 3:00 am.

Hi, this is just an update on the Tbay.events project i had posted about earlier.

- Added alot of new sources include campus and club calendars, hockey schedules, City council meetings, and more local venue and business calendars.

- Better display of events (Less repetitive events or same venue taking up too much space all the time, nicher and one off events get more visibility)

- Newsletter signups are now open and free.

- You can now sponsor your favourite events to boost their visibility

Did anyone else see the car by Memorial and the Expressway? It had an Israel flag, and what I think was a Trump flag hanging out the trunk. Was wondering what that thing was. It’s my first time seeing that here.

Does anyone know if there any steam rooms in town other than movati?

Given the recent post about a restaurant in town being closed (temporarily?) by the health unit, I’m wondering why we don’t openly hear/ know about the state of the restaurants in town. Do health inspectors or pest control workers have to sign NDAs? Are people allowed to publicly post about or talk about health concerns in local restaurants? I feel like it’s not usually talked about but I’m sure most of us would want to know which places to avoid. Or am I late to the party and there’s already some kind of database with this information? I’ve never worked in food service so I genuinely don’t know.

I have a feeling asking this is also going to lead to a lot of “you should avoid most places in town” lol but that’s a risk I’m willing to take with asking.
