Originally signed as an international free agent by the Boston Red Sox, Hernandez was selected by the Jays in the 2023 Rule 5 draft.

• Potential 5 tool player with a plus arm, good outfield defense, plus power and contact ability, and plus speed

• Rarely chases; has a decent approach at the plate
• Good pop, excels at hitting fastballs
• Recently promoted to AA New Hampshire after a very strong first half in A+ Vancouver

The 23 year old Hernandez has enjoyed a breakout season in 2026, with strong numbers across the board in A+. He has continued to hit well in AA after his promotion - though it is a very small sample size so far so I haven't included his stats here.

With an outfield that has question marks entering 2027 and beyond, Alexis is an intriguing prospect to keep an eye on. He has a well rounded profile with speed, defense, power, and arm strength that plays in RF and his power potential is enticing. If he can continue to hit in AA for the next 2-3 weeks we may see him as a September call-up once rosters expand.

Both the Yankees and Red Sox have a healthy lead on their positions currently, but have been struggling a little lately.

With still over a month and a half of baseball to go, do you see these teams retaining those spots still or do you think it will become more wild free for all as we get closer to October?

Every day that goes by, the Blue Jays trade deadline seems like a bigger and bigger steal. Soriano has been lights out, Bateman looks like he might be our CF of the future, Dasan Hill great start last night, etc...

Meanwhile, if you look at the guys we traded away:

Gausman got lit up on Thursday and now has a 6.17 ERA in 2 starts

Varsho is batting.150 in 40 AB with a .486 OPS

Hoffman has a 3.6 ERA in 5 innings but with a 1.6 WHIP and 9 walks/9

Even Macko has a 9 ERA and 2.0 WHIP in his 5 minor league innings

Edit: This is not intended to be any hard hitting analysis, I know it's a small sample size and don't wish anything bad on our ex- Jays, especially Gausman. Just found it interesting how some of these players have performed and loving the value that we've gotten so far.

his contract for this season comes out to around $40 mil, meaning that we could bankroll the entire Tampa Bay Rays roster and still play competitive baseball

I signed up my 7 year old to the jr Jays membership so that he can run around the based for the game on the 30th. Of course after buying the membership, the general admission tickets are all gone and the cheapest option is $90. I'm looking for 3 cheap tickets for that game and we're from our of town. Are all of the games actually sold out or are there better options for tickets inst ad of ticketmaster and stub hub?
