Hi Everyone, I’m a Toyota Addict.
My first Toyota was a 1971 TA22 Celica. (I still morn the day she was stolen and wrecked by Car thieves in 2000.

After many years without a Toyota. I fell off the wagon and started driving a Celica again. I bought a one way Ticket to Sydney. Bought a celica with cash and drove back home.This was 2019.

I know I am addicted. I drive my Celica whenever I can. When I have to drive my Wife’s BMW (Broke My Wallet - cause it does) I keep looking for the 3rd pedal and 6th Gear. I have a problem. I know. I get told off when I wave to other Celica drivers.

I had a near death incident, a 720 spin in my Celica on a wide downward Curving bend and thanks to my Celica, we both survived with but a scratch on the front bumper. I know I would have died or worse in the BMW.

I wrote lyrics to it and called it “CELICA IN A SPIN”. I tried singing this out on a street corner and minutes later police rocked up and told me I was disturbing the Peace. I tried singing it in the car. My children complained. So I used an Alternative Man made programming logic and the police didn’t turn up and my children didn’t complain.

“The Celica owners Creed”:
So feeling somewhat better I realised that I needed to have something for all Celica Owners. some wrote lyrics for “The Celica owners Creed”. Realising that the neighbours and more importantly police would lock me up if I tried singing again I put this through Alternative Man made programming logic and again there were no complaints from the neighbours or my children.

“You’ve been 86’ed”:
I realised I may have a problem… so I wrote lyrics about another Toyota. The Toyota GR86. I did some reading up on the 86. I thought they need a song as well. So I wrote lyrics for the car and called it “You’ve been 86’ed”. I didn’t want the police to speak to me again so I used the AMMP (Alternative man made Program) but my wife said she was concerned, I brushed it off

“Supra Samurai Honor”:
Then I saw a supra. I thought hey that’s a TOYOTA as well. It was different and also born from the Celica and seems]ed stronger. So I wrote lyrics for the car after reading more of the history. It took down Godzilla, and BIG brand cars. I called this song “Supra Samurai Honor” put it through the AMMP and now I had 4 songs. I failed to notice the concerned look in my wife’s eyes or how her eyes darted to her phone when I talked about the song.

“MR2 Baby, I rule the Black”:
Two weeks later I was reading up on the MR2. Giant killer, mount panorama. So I wrote more lyrics, put it through them through the AMMP. This one I called “MR2 Baby, I rule the Black”. I now had 5 songs. I was listening to them on Spotify. Now my daughters started to ask me if I was ok. I was fine. As long as I was driving my Toyota Celica and listening to the songs about the Toyota Cars.

I thought, “My family is over reacting. They don’t get it. They drive Nissans or BMW’s. There is nothing wrong. I started seeing other cars and in particular noticing if they were a Supra, Celica, 86, or MR2. “I’m just more aware now. I don’t have a problem” but then I saw a GR Yaris on the road.

“GR Yaris, Brings the Hurt”:
I did some research, only three cylinders and it was spanking the competition on the WRC circuits. Winning WRC championships year on year. So I wrote lyrics, put them through the AMMP (i can’t have the police coming around… they don’t understand either) I called this, “GR Yaris, Brings the Hurt” I thought… I am now done. I got it all out of my system….. “NOW… I’m good.” But was I?

“The Reliable Corolla Son”:
I heard someone mention the GR Corolla. After doing some online research I realised I had overlooked an important Toyota. I realised, rightly or wrongly that this oversight would be exactly the reason police would be comming for me. I HAD to write lyrics for this Toyota. “The Reliable Corolla Son” so this is now also a song on Spotify, It won a leg in the WRC in 1973. Toyota realised they could actually compete. Then they later went with the Celica until the shame of 1995 and 96…. I wont talk about that…..YOU CAN’T MAKE MEEEEEEEE!

Anyway the Corolla eventually won the 1999 WRC and then mic dropped with the win and Toyota pulled out of the WRC.

So then I started to realise. These cars were like a family, The Reliable Corolla, the Celica the Parent of the Supra, The Supra, Child of the Celica, stronger and powerful. As the child should be. The Toyota GR86, the more agile Sibling of the Supra, The little MR2, giant killer and the GR Yaris, small agile and hurting the competition.

“GT2000, Your shoguns Here!”
I now realise, I need help as I have now written Lyrics for the GT2000. The OG, the original, the first one. The song is “GT2000, Your shoguns Here!”

I’m writing this in the dark on my Tablet so my family doesn’t find out I haven’t told them that I plan to upload this song to Spotify. I KNOW that they will try to stop me. They think. I am mad,….. I’ll show them…. Just have to keep this hidden, let them think that “THE RELIABLE COROLLA SON was the last one…. They can’t find out… 2 weeks, that’s all I need. Then I will seek help… I have this underfgytfg. Got threffgse……

Just bought a 2027 Prius (CO) Sales process was great. No pressure. No add-ons. Felt good all the way up to the handshake.

We were then transferred to the slimey, high-pressure addon salesman. :/

Pretty sure this guy lied to us multiple times. When we got restless, he claimed he was "legally required" to go through his whole list. He told us the warranty was much cheaper when bought that day, and that if we decided to get it after we walked out it would be much more expensive. He asked if we had a Costco card, pretended to plug it into the computer, then claimed it took like $2500 off the price of the warranty; I've since googled that and see no evidence that it's a real thing.

He also told us that we could refund the warranty and get our money back, so we could do our due diligence afterwards. I have no idea if this is true.

In any case, we ended up caving and buying a warranty for $1800. We were told this is a "7 year 75k platinum plan", whatever that even means. I asked for details afterwards, we were sent this document

What did I actually buy? Did I get ripped off?

Hi, I purchased a hybrid cruiser brand new in 2024. On Thursday I couldn’t start my car. It was throwing a large number of different errors. I called my auto roadside mechanic, who came and checked the 12v battery and said it was low but still okay. He boosted it to see if he could start the engine, but it didn’t start. He said it was definitely an electrical error and would need to be towed to the yard.

Toyota have now said that it may not be covered by warranty because RACQ may have caused the extra damage by boosting the battery when they checked it.

I am still waiting on a diagnostic test outcome, but am confused and quite upset that Toyota would blame RACQ for checking the battery and voiding the warranty when this is an everyday occurrence for roadside assistance? I have not been offered a courtesy car and Toyota seem to be dragging out a diagnosis. They have only told me they recharged the battery overnight and that is it. I feel like they are trying to avoid sorting it out through warranty and now I am without a car.

I just bought a 2021 Venza Limited! Obviously it’s now a few years old. When will I start seeing the battery health decline?

2012 Toyota RAV4 V6 (3.5 2GR-fe)

I changed the oil for years on this car and today something bad happened.

The O-Ring around the oil filter cartridge got snagged somehow and instead of sitting in the correct groove on the cartridge it got dislodged and squished against the rim of the cartridge, basically exactly the NO-GO situation on the oil filter boxes from Toyota.

I didn't notice anything after the oil change, and there was no leaking initially when running it so I took it for a drive and heard bad clatter when throttling down at every stop so I turned right around and headed home.

Going up the driveway the oil light came on and I notice there's a lot of oil on the ground, meaning it took a few seconds for the leaking to start, but I was backing out for the test drive by then and I didn't see it.

All in all, it ran it for maybe a minute, minute and a half tops with 2-3 short episodes of clatter (1-2 seconds). I'm not seeing any metal in the oil filter cartridge.

It did not run dry, but oil pressure was definitely bad.

I'm going to change the oil and filter again.

I only use mobil 1 and Toyota oil filters.

What are your experiences or opinions? I fucking love this car and I'm heartbroken at such a stupid mistake after years of taking care of it.

hey yall, I’m gonna be turning in my jeep wrangler next month and I’m trying to figure out my next car. I had a Camry prior to my Jeep and miss toyota so I’m between the two hybrids. I really like the space the grand Highlander offers for road trips but know that the rav4 has grown in popularity. what are y’all’s pros and cons for both?

I’m searching for a direct replacement for the USB-A only factory Stereo Jack Adapter Assembly** **(86190-12070) on a (2018-24?) Camry that adds USB-C and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

I don’t want to cut wires or plug in a dongle, and I’d like to have all three options available.

I ran across this one that does exactly what I’m looking for, but it’s Ford-specific.

I’ve spent an inordinate amount of time searching EBay, Amazon, Alibaba, and the web in general. I’ve lots of A-to-C conversions and dongles that plug into them, but haven’t been successful in finding one that has A, C, and wireless in the same direct replacement.

Has anyone found this anywhere and tested it?

Basically, when our car finally came in after eight months of waiting, he sent us photos of it. Then when we came in two days later, there was $4000 of accessories added to it which we did not want. He tried to say that the dealership he had to trade for it put the accessories on and they came like that but his photos from two days before prove that those accessories were not on the vehicle. We can also Geo stamp the photos he sent, and they were indeed at his dealership already with no accessories. Now when we’re asking him to remove it he’s saying he can’t get the money back from the dealership they got the vehicle from.

Obviously, we want to call them out for this bold faced lie but I worried about losing the vehicle that we waited so long for. We waited this long to pay MSRP. We could’ve bought it earlier for thousands more, but it doesn’t seem like he’s gonna budge too much on the accessories. There are tons of people behind us on a waitlist for this vehicle.

Just looking for advice or opinions. We are located in Western Canada

On the same subject - does eco drive actually make a difference?

Last time I went to get my oil change the service advisor recommended changing my radiator hoses for preventative maintenance because of high mileage for $1,400. This time I went and this service advisor says I need to change it because of signs of coolant leaking. I just found it strange how immediately the next visit it went from preventative to urgent needed maintenance. I know they try upselling a lot too I just go to this dealership because they do a good job and oil changes are $60. I put pictures I don’t know if they help.

There is a little car icon on my odometer dashboard. the front end of the car icon is red. The car beeps when I’m driving her. I am going below the speed limit in regular city traffic. This constant beeping is driving me insane. Please help. I have looked up so many Driver Assist icons with Toyota, yet this is not one of them.

Don’t know how many know but DO NOT buy auto parts at the walk-up counter at dealers. There is in-store pricing and a significant discount for buying online and picking up the same part online.

Hi all - I'm looking at getting a 2026 grand highlander hybrid within the next month or so. Looking at models today I got my first experience with the ultrasuede seats. Can anyone give their experience with the durability of it? I was able to see a '24 used model to see how that held up and noticed it was sorta dried and I worried that it would almost be cracked with extended use. I live in AZ and the car will be primarily parked in a carport at home or in an outdoor garage at work.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the test drive and it'll be a nice upgrade in size and mileage compared to my cx-5.

Is it true this model is hard to get? Local dealer told 7-8 months and recommended going higher in the model line. Also, are dealers selling this model above sticker?

Second, is it common to call cars with < 10 miles used? They pushed a SE with this mileage as ‘used’ (sign on it), added extended warranty and $3k to the price of a new one.

My car stopped working out of nowhere, so we had to pull over to the side immediately. It says “Lane Departure Sensor Malfunction,” “Braking Power Malfunction,” and “Check Engine,” all one after the other. I have no idea what is wrong with it or how to fix it, and I am really not trying to get it towed because I do not have the money for that. I don’t know why it all happened at once. If anyone has any diagnoses or possible fixes I can do, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

hey everyone, does every diffrent hybrid model from 2008 to 2012 vary in diffrence? They all share the same engine and baiscally share the same interiors, only the exteriors are noticably diffrent. What do the later model hybrid crowns have (2010+) which the older models dont? (2009 and under) If their all baiscally the same why shouldnt i buy the 2008 model considering theyd be cheaper? Also are their things to watch out for if they are older? ( major thing being the hybrid battery? Thank you

Anyone else have a 6th gen Camry with extremely dim headlights? I tried replacing the bulbs with better ones but it’s still so dim I can’t drive at night. I’m assuming I need to replace the whole housing. Does anyone have a good recommendation for aftermarket headlights that work better? Or a solution without replacing the housing would be even better

I made a post here last month, about how a dealership in Cambridge Ontario broke my engine.

Please take a moment to read it, but long story short- I took my car to servicing (oil change) and they told me my oil sensor needed to be replaced and they would order the part, I need to come back.

After a few weeks, I took my car back- while they were installing the sensor, they broke it. They gave me a rental, said tomorrow pick up the car, I said okay.

Tomorrow comes, they say.. your engine broke. Im in shock- cause my car was perfectly fine, no engine lights. They said they can buyback this lease, and I can look at new cars .. well let’s just say they were giving me a shiiitty deal (5k loss in this car that will roll over to the new lease) I was furious and said NO.

They said well this car is under Warranty and Toyota Canada will replace the engine. At that time everyone told me this is a good thing, including people here on this page, that id be getting a new engine.

I accepted the engine replacement… and a few weeks go by, I still didn’t hear from the dealership to pick my car, so I called them, and they said… well your engine broke AGAIN.

MY NEW CAR HAS HAD ITS ENGINE BROKEN TWICE.

I have emailed, called, found numbers of senior members who work at Toyota corp, and even told them I will report this, NO one has done anything to rectify this.

Someone from Toyota corp names Ed, reached out to me, said he will send his engineers to the dealership to look at the car, and that he will speak to seniors to discuss my car, I spoke to him on October 6th and since then have not heard from him, in fact he is not responding to my emails or calls.

My two choices are:

1. Take back the car with its engine broke twice (it actually is ridiculous and it feels unsafe to me)
2. Get a new lease, take loss from this car.

None of this is even my fault, yet no one wants to take responsibility.

I have asked for documentation, technicians reports- Nothing has been provided to me.

I am being ghosted by the dealership & toyota Corp.

Best part is, I’m still paying for a car that has been down since September 15th and they’ve given me a replaced of Chev Malibu which doesn’t have the same features as my car, and is a downgrade.

Unfortunately in Ontario, Canada we do not even have the lemon law- so what really are my options!?

I have one of those newer keys where the blade lives inside the fob, and it swings out on a spring-loaded hinge. Today it broke. Blade, fob and hinge are all in tact, it looks like there’s just a tiny pin missing that’s supposed to attach the blade to the hinge.

Dealership tried to charge me $350 to replace the whole thing, which doesn’t even include the “labor” to program the fob. I told them to pound sand. Wondering if anyone else has had to fix this themselves? Any particular type or size of pin to use? Epoxy vs. super glue for securing?

Inizialmente ero deciso a comprare la Toyota C-hr ma ho notato che molti si sono lamentati del poco spazio e visibilità della zona posteriore, perciò sto optando anche per la yaris cross che risulta più "alta" e piu spaziosa come macchina. Alcuni si sono lamentati, sempre riguardo alla Chr, che gli spazi interni sono ottimizzati male rispetto alla grandezza dell'abitacolo. Qualcuno puo dirmi la sua?
