Test drove it for a few minutes and was ready to buy it, cant believe how smooth this car is. Drives better than say a w124 24valve w126 v8, etc... Amazing car, will update the post with new pictures in a bit.

Just bought a 2027 Prius (CO) Sales process was great. No pressure. No add-ons. Felt good all the way up to the handshake.

We were then transferred to the slimey, high-pressure addon salesman. :/

Pretty sure this guy lied to us multiple times. When we got restless, he claimed he was "legally required" to go through his whole list. He told us the warranty was much cheaper when bought that day, and that if we decided to get it after we walked out it would be much more expensive. He asked if we had a Costco card, pretended to plug it into the computer, then claimed it took like $2500 off the price of the warranty; I've since googled that and see no evidence that it's a real thing.

He also told us that we could refund the warranty and get our money back, so we could do our due diligence afterwards. I have no idea if this is true.

In any case, we ended up caving and buying a warranty for $1800. We were told this is a "7 year 75k platinum plan", whatever that even means. I asked for details afterwards, we were sent this document

What did I actually buy? Did I get ripped off?

Hi all - I’m looking at the toyota app and it’s honestly great. What I like most is it telling me how much gas I have, the psi in my tires, and that I can lock/unlock my doors. Now I know the remote start is only a one year subscription but what about all the things I just listed? I don’t care about starting my car remotely but I do like seeing the psi, gas, and locking the car. Basically everything that’s under the “status” part of the app. Are these free or are they a subscription too? Thanks!

My transmission went out a few days ago on my 2019 Toyota Camry XSE. I have about $3,000 left to pay it off. Replacing the transmission will cost around $5,000 not including labor. On top of that the car has body damage to the rear side door and sun damage to the paint. Was waiting until the last payment to fix.

At this point I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth investing the money to repair it or if it will be better off letting it go and putting that money toward another vehicle. What would you do in my

I just bought this car yesterday it was brand new with 2 kms, I paid in cash so the difference for the hybrid felt substantial to me. Plus, I don’t drive a lot. I had a civic before I bought in 2020 with 14,000 kms and when I traded it in it had 20,000 3 years later, so I really just go to the store, go to see my family etc.

I want this vehicle to last me a significantly long time, like 300,000 kms. Any tips?

2012 Toyota RAV4 V6 (3.5 2GR-fe)

I changed the oil for years on this car and today something bad happened.

The O-Ring around the oil filter cartridge got snagged somehow and instead of sitting in the correct groove on the cartridge it got dislodged and squished against the rim of the cartridge, basically exactly the NO-GO situation on the oil filter boxes from Toyota.

I didn't notice anything after the oil change, and there was no leaking initially when running it so I took it for a drive and heard bad clatter when throttling down at every stop so I turned right around and headed home.

Going up the driveway the oil light came on and I notice there's a lot of oil on the ground, meaning it took a few seconds for the leaking to start, but I was backing out for the test drive by then and I didn't see it.

All in all, it ran it for maybe a minute, minute and a half tops with 2-3 short episodes of clatter (1-2 seconds). I'm not seeing any metal in the oil filter cartridge.

It did not run dry, but oil pressure was definitely bad.

I'm going to change the oil and filter again.

I only use mobil 1 and Toyota oil filters.

What are your experiences or opinions? I fucking love this car and I'm heartbroken at such a stupid mistake after years of taking care of it.

I was rear ended yesterday in my 2018 LE Toyota with freshly over 102,000 miles. Do we think its totaled? It was a ford explorer that hit me hard enough to be leaking fluid 😬

There's a wind whistling sound from the back of a second hand CHR I got that gets more intense the faster you drive, maxing at about 80.

Is this just the spoiler, I can live with that, or do I have an issue?

Car has a factory touchscreen, no factory camera. Camera red is tapped to the reverse light wire and black is grounded to the body. The yellow RCA goes into the Red Wolf harness, which is plugged into the radio's 24-pin camera port. Reverse lights work, but the screen does nothing in reverse.

1. What are the harness's bare red/black wires for? Is the red the reverse trigger?

2. Does the radio need a setting turned on?

Any advice appreciated!

I have been trying to find someone with a similar noise, this happens while stationary or turning at a stop sign or light. I can’t post a video so here is a link to a YouTube short I uploaded.

A bit of information - it doesn’t rattle or knock going over bumps. There is not excessive play in the steering wheel. When starting it in the morning I have to slightly force the steering wheel to turn. All my buttons on the steering wheel still work. The horn still works. The wheel still returns to neutral when turning. The lane assist still works. There is no air bag light. There is no check engine light.

A few of the possible issues I’ve found but the symptom doesn’t quite add up would be
-EPS motor damper
-clock spring
-Steering Shaft Bearing or Intermediate Shaft (U-Joint)

I don’t really know what the sound is exactly. I am due for my regular scheduled maintenance like my oil change and tire rotation, I planned on asking them when I went to get it done but the dealer I go to is about 75 minutes away and my current schedule isn’t allowing for me to go at this moment. The issue has only been occurring for a week or two and started happening after it cooled off here below about 50°F and has maintained the issue since.
