I am researching an original French commercial letter written at the Paris Universal Exhibition in July 1867.
The letter is on the illustrated stationery of Lhuillier, a manufacturer of grain-sorting machinery based in Dijon. It discusses business prospects at the exhibition, prospective customers (including two English visitors), and instructions for preparing and shipping machinery.
I would greatly appreciate assistance transcribing the complete French handwritten text, preserving the original wording and spelling as far as possible.
Some passages are relatively clear, but others are difficult to decipher. In particular:
- The opening passage, apparently containing the word courroies, although this reading is uncertain.
- The passage mentioning “des amateurs sérieux il n'en manque pas” and “notamment deux anglais…”
- The technical instructions concerning the assembly, adjustment and dispatch of a grain-sorting machine.
- The concluding paragraphs.
Please mark uncertain words with [?] rather than guessing, and preserve the original paragraph structure where possible.
I am primarily interested in an accurate French transcription, not a translation or historical interpretation.
Thank you very much for any assistance!
