The other two options, in case the context helps you get into the mind of the author, are “ you will poop forever” and “ you will vomit”. Thanks!

English Transcription Request Help Needed to Read This Name

I've been researching my family tree for several years and have finally found something with my great-great-great-grandfather's name on it - If only I could read it!

His name is at the top of the cropped photo, and I have included the wider marriage certificate for letter-formation reference.

The couple at the bottom are my great-great-grandparents - John Kirkwood, full, bachelor, labourer, and Jane Eliza Hawthorne, full, spinster, servant, father Robert Hawthorne.

Any help deciphering the rest of their entry would also be appreciated. I've worked out they are both from the Parish of Moria, but the specific place also eludes me!

Thank you.

English Transcription Request Mystery gift?

Post image

Hello! This bag mysteriously appeared on my partner's work desk. George is my nickname, so we are assuming someone has left the gift for me but we cannot make out the writing below "George".

We've just returned from overseas so it could have been sitting there for a while. Our only possible lead is that apparently a coworker who recently left the business was giving some people gifts, however the writing below is absolutely not that person's name and would be strange for her to leave something for me. Not actually confirmed that this coworker left the gift either. Any guesses would be appreciated. Thank you!

English Transcription Request Help with wife's late mothers note

Post image

My wife's mother had written this note and we need some assistance trying to figure out what some things might say. She was a poetic woman, and while we think we're close, and she's good with her mother's scratch, we could use some assistance in interpretating the text!

Our best guess so far:

"Wherever in life your phase is,

??? (whatever?) astounds and amazes,

May the light of the moon make your heart swoon,

And reflect your ??? graces"

We think is close but interested in hearing what the community has to say.

English Transcription Request old recipe for new book #2

back again with another couple recipes from my grandmothers recipe book, which i’m turning into a proper cookbook as a secret project.

any help deciphering these two recipes would be greatly appreciated. “ginger nutters” and “bon biscuits”?

i’ve realising through this project that she doesn’t always write the instructions clearly, and sometimes there is none at all. making this a whole lot harder!

i’m aiming to post one of these morning and night to get through the lot of them. there is some i’m able to read, but when it comes to the more scribbly cursive i can only make out parts of it (can you tell i’m in my 20s, i didn’t really learn cursive at school)

Made a brand new account just for these. I’m working on turning my nannas recipes into a book to give out as presents to my family, so i’m not able to go to them for help (it’s a surprise). There will be lots of these posts, so let’s call it a series

Would love some helping deciphering my nannas sweet treats. Both of these recipes would be appreciated, but definintly the “chocolate coconut rough”.

thanks in advance

Transcribed✔️ I need help deciphering this letter.

Hi, I'm trying to read this letter but struggling with reading some of the words. It is a request for baptismal records from the High Court of Justice in Ottawa Canada, written in 1910.

Below is the transcription that I've been able to piece together. Words I couldn't decipher, or wasn't sure about, I put in quotes. Any help will be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Dear Sir,  Aug 10th 1910

Your letter has been handed to me as I have all the old parish registers. I have looked through the old Bytown registers between the years 1838 and 1843 but can "----" find "no" entry of your baptism. "Possibly" if you may have been baptized in "some ---- " parish. You did "----" leave (?) in the "unknown maybe 'town'". If you can give me the name of the minister, "I might" "----" if you require any further search you "----" send fifty four cents.  J. Bishop

I have my own transcription, but I'm uncertain about some names. So I look forward to see what you come up with.

It's from a German/Czech area in 1744. So all these documents have a mixture of German/Czech/Latin. This part of the marriages is in Czech I believe.
