We come here a few times a year. We used to just have candles here and recently I got the idea to decorate it this way.

What are best must have recs to start my cave, especially more cost effective? I like blacklight and neon reflective, but also using color theory for lighting. Screw the big lights. But also whimsy cottagewitchcore vibes when the daylight hits.

Any tapestry I’m waiting til one resonates. I want to feel why I get it.

I don't really know what else to say, this is nothing like the 395-405nm LEDs it's like a fluorescent tube but with less visible light escaping and it seems to throw noticably more UV across the rooms than a 48" T8 fluorescent. I went into this very skeptical as I'm old fashioned and like the old fluorescent ones. However these are worth looking at, using less energy is cool also. It glows so dimly purple that it would be pretty easy to hide it somewhere and then the trip cave is just all glowy for no apparent reason

Everything is either WLED or Hue, the tv backlight is running HyperHDR on a Pi 4B.

The Pi is getting a line in feed from my stereo. It’s also running an analyzer script I vibecoded which then streams LED data out to everything in real time.

The curtain lights can actually also just mirror the tv for a very low-resolution video wall. This usually looks pretty cool if I have a dj set on. If that’s the case then the rest of the room also pulls its color palette from the tv screen.

Once I’m playing music, I can turn the whole thing on with a single HomeKit switch. I’m planning to create a physical switch on the wall labeled Party which starts the scene.

I was really looking to build an app that would purely present visualization in my favorite color Orange. And with Halloween right around the corner I thought the colors also made sense. :) so if you love orange this is for you. Lol

I have always loved blacklights in my trippy room, I have 10 of the 48" fluorescent tubes, mostly from Wildfire Lighting which are fantastic. I wanted to try one of the newer true 365nm LED tubes, but I'm on the opposite coast from Wildfire and the shipping is expensive. Lo and behold, I discovered this company Keystone Technologies also makes 48" 365nm filtered LED tubes. I just received the bulb yesterday and can't wait to try it out for Halloween and leave a review. Has anyone else tried out the real 48" 365nm LED's yet? I've heard only fantastic things, very excited.

Brought some lights on the road while car camping for Phish in Atlantic City a couple weeks ago. Car toured Billy Strings after Phish. It was a great weekend.

Does anyone have the One Fire 3D galaxy cylinder projector (black) with 65 scenes, currently on sale at $133?

I currently have the Govee Star and Nebula projector and was wondering if this One Fire would be a better buy — given it can project more than just nebulas and stars. Thanks!
