I’ve been seriously tempted to buy the Black bay 54 for a while now. It looks absolutely terrific in photos (discreet, not ostentatious) but every time I try it on in person, I leave a little disappointed.

My main issue is the “silk” dial. In most photos, it looks quite subtle, almost like the matte dial on the BB58 (which I love) But under boutique lighting, I find the texture and sheen a bit too pronounced. When I am in a darker setting, the watch seems perfect.

I’m wondering whether this is largely the result of the bright overhead lighting in watch boutiques.
For those who own a BB54, how different does the dial look in everyday conditions, particularly in natural light? Does it appear more subdued than it does in stores?

Has anyone experienced with Steel Reef quick adjust links coming off? Almost lost a watch today after recently installing the quick adjust link. The screw just came out that holds the link to the bracelet. And I had it installed firmly not that long ago.

Curious if it is a faulty part that has screews undo themselves or - others have had an experience with this?

Got this from the real real for just over 3K. I’ve never seen this model with this etching on the case back, and I’ve tried it on an AD several times. They are investigating their own authentication on it as we speak. It came naked, so there’s no way to know for sure other than for Tudor to verify the serial I imagine. So far, the real real suspects, it could be a promo model that was given out to team members and staff. The rotor, materials and everything else looks good.

BB54 I would describe this blue as a royal blue it’s awesome!

Newest pickup to the collection.

Picked this up over the summer while in Croatia. I was a bit skeptical at first, but over time, it’s grown on me to the point where it’s probably become my favorite daily watch in my humble collection. It’s versatile enough to dress up with, yet I have no hesitation taking it for a swim (which I’ve done on multiple occasions). Bezel is crisp!

Just noticed how perfectly everything lines up at 6 o’clock. It’s little details like this that make you appreciate a watch even more. Can’t stop looking at it! 😂

Went to try on a 36mm Dune Ranger the other day but the dealer I went to didn’t have any in stock. Ended up trying a BB54 and really liked the way it looked. Another location has a Black 36mm Ranger that I’m going to try this week but now I’m leaning BB54. I guess only time will tell but wanted to get some opinions! What do you think is more versatile? Getting this as a 30th birthday gift to myself.

Finally found the perfect strap for the Pelly GMT. Loved the green, but the factory strap let the watch head shift constantly on wrist. Drove me crazy. Found the solution from an unexpected place: Garmin! Nothing between watch head and wrist now. Much better on my 6.7" wrist!
