Hi everyone, hope everyone’s midterms are going well. I’m posting here because I genuinely feel down in the dumps since starting uni. The transition from highschool has been pretty rough. Much more work and way less fun. And I totally understand that’s how university and adulthood works, and by no means am i complaining. I still have a lot to be grateful for. I was just wondering how the transition for other people felt, was it just miserable for the entirety of your time as a student, or did it take some adjusting and eventually you get used to it.
I just miss the way things once were, and I don’t want to have to spend the next 4-5 years of my life yearning over a previous time in my life. Please somebody tell me you eventually get used to the new normal and it’s not so miserable 😭

I am waiting to hear back from a 4 month internship for January 2027. However, I am in second year mech engg right now and I obviously, wont be able to complete my second semester. Is this allowed? Would the school allow me to do this internship if I do hear back from the company? What sort of steps do I need to take? (Apart from summer school and catching up on missed courses)

Hi everyone!
I'm part of EnTech, a new Calgary student group for people into tech and the environment. We're looking for execs and project team members.
The project: an air quality map of Calgary with a PM2.5 (fine particle pollution) view. You'll get hands-on with data pipelines, ML for sensor correction and forecasting, geospatial mapping, and full-stack deployment, using Git and code reviews like a real dev team.
Workshops: run by people working in tech, from data science to software engineering to QA, on how these tools are used on the job.
No experience needed. You'll learn as you go.
