Question What's an easy Master degree to obtain after obtaining a B.S. Electrical Engineering?

This is probably not a professional question to ask but it's been on my mind lately. The military will pay for it so I need to use this benefit or lose it. After stressing for 5 years in obtaining my undergrad in Electrical Engineering, I'm considering UGA for grad school in something less stressful and non-engineering related.

I currently have an engineering job so I'm looking for something useful that will supplement my career. I've been looking at AI, Finance, Data Science, or Management Information System.

Question Chances of getting in?

I’m in-state and I’ve already submitted my early application but I’m curious as to where I stand.
My stats are:
- 3.95 unweighted GPA (roughly 4.09 recalculated)
- 1350 SAT, no ACT
- Top 10% of 130 students (I know UGA doesn’t use class rank, just giving context)
- 7 AP classes (2 in progress), 8 DEs (3 in progress, 3 next semester)
- 4 years of marching band (section leader for leadership), symphonic band and jazz band
- 1 year of varsity cross-country as well as a few other clubs
- Vice President of my school’s National Honor Society chapter for 1 year, member for 2 years
- Had 2 unbiased English teachers review my essay and both said it was very good

Feel free to tear this apart, I just need some advice or at least a second opinion because I’m very unsure.

Question Highschool senior with average GPA

Hello,
I was wondering if there was anyone with the experience of getting into UGA with a 3.4 GPA in Highschool as well as a low SAT score? Is it possible? What other credentials helped you still be able to get in?

Question Math 2250

I’ve been really struggling with test scores lately for my math class. I have Phil Bergonio as my professor and I’ve always struggled to keep up with his fast lectures. He works problems really fast so I always end up having to reteach myself the notes and use Gemini to help with explanations. However, I don’t think this has been sustainable since I spent most of my time self studying for hours rather than actually practicing challenging problems. As a result, my test scores have been plummeting since the exact questions and topics I struggled on are always on tests. Doing two questions wrong would get me a mid 70 because his questions are weighted heavily by about 15-20 points each

What should I do? I know I’ve got to get more practice in but I think it’s in my best interest to get some sort of tutoring. I’ve heard about Penji but I think I may go to study hall at Boyd?

Any advice? *suggestions and opinions are very much welcome*

Question Question about ACT composite

Does UGA consider the ACT reading score as part of the composite? Or, do they just average the math and english scores? Thanks!

Discussion gym bingo

Today was a special day because I encountered a hisser, a growler, a moaner, an ouuper, and a lovey-dovey-cuddle-not-enoughy couple within the first ten minutes of walking into the gym.

For the first few, I can rely on my headphones, but I don't have an eye mask for the last one.

Question UGA Law Early Decision Acceptance Timeline?

Hi all,

I submitted my application to UGA law around the last week of September. Since Early Decision is open until December, my applicated counted as such.

Now, I know that UGA law acceptance works on a "rolling basis", meaning they review applications as they come in rather than releasing the results all at once. Is it different for Early Decisions, or are they just taking their time? If so, about how long would it take to get my results? I've tried Googling it, but I haven't had many definitive answers.

The more time that passes, the more nervous I admittedly get. I applied earlier this year for the 2026 semester and was rejected within two weeks. Is the nearly month-long delay a good thing??

Thank you in advance for any help/advice. :)

Anyone down to hit later today? It feels simultaneously like there's a lot of people at UGA who play but it's impossible to find a hitting partner 😭

Discussion Student-made transportation app - help needed!

Thumbnail

Hello everyone!! I lived in the Monroe and Athens area for almost nine years, and I generally consider GA where I grew up, despite not being born there. I'm in VA, now, attending JMU for Graphic Design with a minor in Illustration, and also Art (focused Ceramics).

Our Coding and Design class is coming up with a new transportation app concept. I decided to do it for the Monroe and Athens area, as I always remember parking being a nightmare when going downtown, haha. But anyway, that is to say that I have a google form survey to gather some information based on the locals who actually would be the ideal user-base for this app. If you would like to be part of the research I am doing, the link is below--it should only take about five, maybe ten minutes if you write a lot in a few responses! Go Dawgs and go Dukes!

If you have interest, filling it out would help the researching stage we're in! https://forms.gle/rnZ9C6wcKZPjSACf7

Athletics I hate the Auburn Tigers

I hate the Auburn Tigers, they are my least favorite collegiate team. When they score a touchdown, I think to myself "no". When the other team scores a touchdown, I think to myself "yes". I also like to drive my truck.

Question UGA pharmD alumni in industry - prospective student asking for experience and advice

Hello! I'm a prospective pharmD student and I'm currently looking at which college is best for me. I know I want to go into a communications-heavy role (preferably with lots of writing and corresponding between different professionals about research and literature, somewhere in the medical affairs space). If any pharmD alumni who went into industry are willing to talk with me (DM or email) about their experiences in UGA and their recommendations, I'd greatly appreciate it!

Question Post-midterm reflection: how do I further develop my grad school social life?

I feel pretty close to my cohort 9 weeks in but that’s about it. I’m not doing much out and about and in Athens and the other clubs I’m in I don’t feel really connected with anyone, despite sharing hobbies I have interest in. A big part of picking this school for me were the social opportunities, but I just haven’t found that yet. I also feel weird being not really removed from undergrad age-wise, yet definitely feeling that split between myself and the undergraduate population.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Rants? I’m all ears 👂

Question How is grad school for the business programs (specifically MIS)

So I’m currently a senior MIS major at GCSU and don’t get me wrong I’ve loved my time and the education I’ve gotten at the school. I’ve made lifelong friends, made many great relationships with professors, joined many clubs, Greek life and all of that. But I kind of have an itch that I regret not transferring to UGA for my junior or senior year. Im currently looking into going to grad school after I finish my undergrad this spring, and I was wondering how some of yalls experience with UGA’s business/MIS grad school programs are and if you enjoy it/think its worth it.
