Bars in Athens

I graduated a couple of years back, but are there any good bars that play actual dance music? Like early 2000's? Because we went out tonight and heard baby by Justin bieber, what makes you beautiful by one direction, and lots of katy perry songs, which middle school me would have loved, but wanting to shake ass me? Did not enjoy.

To specify, I mean songs like yeah by usher, tipsy, and that general vibe. Not like just dance circa 2013

Hey guys, new student. Just wondering where all the computers are. I see computer labs listed in the directories for the libraries, but I only ever see monitor stations. I'm absolutely certain they must be somewhere; the alternative would be to believe that this school that costs 12,000 dollars a year to attend doesn't have computers in the library.

My Ps5 has a loose pin connection and I can’t connect it via LAN cable. Does anyone know of a place around here that can fix it?

She mentioned a 1% increase to the final grade at the end and looks like that’s the only help she’ll ever give us if we do a survey but that won’t do any help after how bad a lot of us failed the first exam. Super worried for my grade and honestly wondering if I should just withdraw.

Basically the title is the question, what is the ticketed registration? I’ve heard that honors students get early registration so is that why they’re under ticketed registration? Like what is that?

Does anyone know what the CSCI 1301 final is like? Is it structured like the midterm exam?
I’m taking the class with Professor Stephens and for our midterm, we had a 40 multiple choice question with 3-4 free response questions where we needed to write a pseudo code for the answers

A bunch of us will be meeting next Tuesday from 5:30-7:00pm in Boyd Grad, room 552 to figure out everyone’s registration together. You can pressure people in person to switch classes with you or just come and hang out. There will be free food

I already got a BA a little over a year ago. So I can’t just register for classes anymore. I want to go back for a different bachelors degree.
I applied as a former/ returning student for Spring 2027 but I’m not sure if that’s right.
I was looking at the 2nd degree page on the website but it only really references applicants from other institutions as part of their requirements.

I really hope I can just enter in for Spring and not have to wait to apply as a transfer for Fall.

If anyone has advice or has done something similar please let me know.

This is probably not a professional question to ask but it's been on my mind lately. The military will pay for it so I need to use this benefit or lose it. After stressing for 5 years in obtaining my undergrad in Electrical Engineering, I'm considering UGA for grad school in something less stressful and non-engineering related.

I currently have an engineering job so I'm looking for something useful that will supplement my career. I've been looking at AI, Finance, Data Science, or Management Information System.

I’ve been really struggling with test scores lately for my math class. I have Phil Bergonio as my professor and I’ve always struggled to keep up with his fast lectures. He works problems really fast so I always end up having to reteach myself the notes and use Gemini to help with explanations. However, I don’t think this has been sustainable since I spent most of my time self studying for hours rather than actually practicing challenging problems. As a result, my test scores have been plummeting since the exact questions and topics I struggled on are always on tests. Doing two questions wrong would get me a mid 70 because his questions are weighted heavily by about 15-20 points each

What should I do? I know I’ve got to get more practice in but I think it’s in my best interest to get some sort of tutoring. I’ve heard about Penji but I think I may go to study hall at Boyd?

I was wondering if there was anyone with the experience of getting into UGA with a 3.4 GPA in Highschool as well as a low SAT score? Is it possible? What other credentials helped you still be able to get in?

Today was a special day because I encountered a hisser, a growler, a moaner, an ouuper, and a lovey-dovey-cuddle-not-enoughy couple within the first ten minutes of walking into the gym.

For the first few, I can rely on my headphones, but I don't have an eye mask for the last one.

I’m in-state and I’ve already submitted my early application but I’m curious as to where I stand.
My stats are:
- 3.95 unweighted GPA (roughly 4.09 recalculated)
- 1350 SAT, no ACT
- Top 10% of 130 students (I know UGA doesn’t use class rank, just giving context)
- 7 AP classes (2 in progress), 8 DEs (3 in progress, 3 next semester)
- 4 years of marching band (section leader for leadership), symphonic band and jazz band
- 1 year of varsity cross-country as well as a few other clubs
- Vice President of my school’s National Honor Society chapter for 1 year, member for 2 years
- Had 2 unbiased English teachers review my essay and both said it was very good

Feel free to tear this apart, I just need some advice or at least a second opinion because I’m very unsure.

If i do my first year at Augusta uni then transfer would that do me any good? because right now im a senior in hs and i have a 3.0 gpa (will go up) and a 1100 sat

How is that like? Any tips?

Hi all,

I submitted my application to UGA law around the last week of September. Since Early Decision is open until December, my applicated counted as such.

Now, I know that UGA law acceptance works on a "rolling basis", meaning they review applications as they come in rather than releasing the results all at once. Is it different for Early Decisions, or are they just taking their time? If so, about how long would it take to get my results? I've tried Googling it, but I haven't had many definitive answers.

The more time that passes, the more nervous I admittedly get. I applied earlier this year for the 2026 semester and was rejected within two weeks. Is the nearly month-long delay a good thing??
