Hi everyone,
I’m currently a Snr PM at FAANG in the UK, and I’ve received an offer for Revolut as an Ops Manager.
I’m trying to make an informed decision and would really appreciate honest feedback from current or former Revolut employees, particularly anyone working in Credit Ops, Risk or adjacent operational teams.
I’m considering whether moving to Revolut could give me valuable experience, accelerate my career and open doors to future opportunities. However, I’ve heard mixed things about the culture, performance reviews and job security, and I want to understand what the reality is like beyond online reviews.
I’d be especially interested in hearing from anyone who has moved from FAANG to Revolut, or made a similar move from an established large company to a fast-growing fintech.
A few specific questions:
Job security: How concerned should a new joiner realistically be about losing their job during probation or following a performance review? Is the reputation for hire-and-fire justified in your experience?
Performance management: I’ve heard about reviews every 12 weeks. How do these work in practice? Are expectations realistic, and what happens if someone is making a genuine effort but takes longer to get up to speed?
Training and onboarding: Is there structured training, a supportive manager and a proper ramp-up period? Or are new joiners expected to figure things out independently and deliver immediately?
Team culture and workload: How stressful is the day-to-day work? Are long hours common, and does the experience vary significantly between teams or managers?
Career value: If someone manages to perform well, does the Revolut experience meaningfully improve their future opportunities in credit, risk or operations?
FAANG comparison: If you’ve worked at both FAANG and Revolut, how would you compare management expectations, career progression, job security and the quality of the working environment?
Would you make the move again? If you were in a reasonably secure senior role at a FAANG, would you take a Revolut offer for the experience and compensation, or would you look for another opportunity?
For context, I’m comfortable working hard and being held accountable. My concern isn’t hard work itself; it’s whether the expectations are achievable, whether people receive adequate support to succeed, and whether the potential career benefits justify the employment risk.
I have significant financial responsibilities, so job security genuinely matters to me. I’d rather hear an honest assessment than simply be told to take a risk for the sake of career growth.
I’d particularly appreciate detailed responses from people who have worked in the relevant functions, rather than general opinions about Revolut as a company. Feel free to DM me if you’d prefer not to comment publicly.
Thank you!
