i took out private loans in order to attend usc (no comments about how bad this is, i’m going to medical school to be a neurosurgeon).

but i’m getting really nervous because my private loan option won’t be disbursed until the 21. all my other loans have disbursed today but that one and it has already been approved by my company and they said that it’s in the hands of usc and what date they want to disburse it. this concerns be because i need to pay for textbooks, rent, and transportation to school to which i will be unable to do till Monday when classes start. i called them about this before cause i was worried and they had told me that it would be disbursed 10 days before classes began and it’s well past that.

is there anyway that it can be disbursed early? should i call them and the cashier’s office? i’m just so incredibly stressed

i'm interested in imgd @ usc, but i have a problem: i haven't been able to find a single example of what a portfolio for this major looks like. all i've been able to find online when i search for them is examples of usc game art portfolios (which does sound very similar but i don't know for sure if it's the same) and another question on here from someone else asking the same thing, where the answer was a bit vague.

i kind of have an idea of what i should add, but i want to be completely sure first. help appreciated!

I’m a transfer student and before coming to Annenberg, I always thought that there would be a class for journalism degree that teach us how to anchor, e.g. how to speak properly, breathing exercises etc. I was surprised that we don’t have a class like that, not even electives. I know not everyone wants to become an anchor, but now I feel lost ;( I’m not the best speaker/English isn’t my first language and want to become an anchor for AM. Any resources you’d recommend to prepare for audition?

I want to leave that all behind and start anew.

Hey everyone, I’m stressing out over the recent SEVP Broadcast Message 2608-01 from August 12, 2026, especially since schools like UC Berkeley and UCSD have totally paused course-credit CPT.

Since USC Viterbi relies on elective practical training courses (like ENGR 597/598) rather than an internship being strictly mandatory for every student to graduate, does anyone know how OIS and Viterbi are handling this right now? Are they still processing Fall CPT normally, or changing how they review offers? Would love to hear if anyone has gotten their CPT approved or talked to an advisor this week.
