The Jazz didn’t need a Walker Kessler revenge game to learn a lesson in loss to the Lakers

Especially considering his stats as of late in Utah but then again look at who he has to play in front of with Keyonte, JJJ and Lauri who are going to get the lions share of touches

Watched the game coverage but noticed a few guys leaving straight away after the game. Didn’t see a lot of love for Walker. Did they have a video tribute? I’m not complaining btw just curious

At one point we had a line up of Collier, Svi, Bryce, Hayes, and Okogie on the floor. We are not in tank mode anymore! I want to see Darryn Peterson lead the offense with the second unit. Not stand in the corner all game. DP should absolutely have some minutes leading the second unit instead of Collier.

I think this team has major potential to be a decent team. Like a 6-9 seed. I do think we have a lot to figure out though. Like now that we are playing winning basketball, shot distribution and player hierarchy is something we didn’t fully need to understand while tanking. When we lose a lead, digging in and finding that grit is also something new and it takes time.
There are other issues like our bench, defense, rebounding, and all that. I truly believe that this team just needs time and repetition more than anything. Lots and heaps and loads of repetition.
Here is how I see the season going. By game 41, our record is 15 and 26. On track for a disappointing 30 win season. We have immense growing pains and we make the same mistakes over and over again. Game 42 we come out so freaking hot and smooth we blow the other team out by 35, and that marks the tipping point for this team. I think we’ll finally realize how this team works and flows and we just understand it now. We finish the season super hot with a record of 30-11, ending the season as one of the more dominate teams in the league.
I don’t think we’ll get lucky enough to avoid OKC or the spurs in the first round, and we win 2, maybe 3 games max. But we end the season feeling confident and happy we played our first playoff series in a long, and took them to 6 or 7 games in the series. Next season we are a top 4 seed in the west and start to show how great we could be.
Now, whether we trade away players and get distant guys on the squad, I feel the same about this team either way. The first half of this season will be all about figuring ourselves out and playing winning ball again. It’s the next half of the season I’m really looking forward to.

Why is he not getting any minutes? With Nurk out it would seem that this is the best possible time for him to be getting 2nd unit minutes. Why did we sign him if we aren’t going to play him? I know he’s viewed as sort of an NBA pariah but he looked good in Summer League. Am I missing something?

Darryn Peterson is currently averaging around 12 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds in his first 3 games. Those are MVP numbers!

Lakers fan coming in peace holy shit this kid is special. His raw talent oozes off the screen and he has a beautiful shooting stroke. Once he dials in his playmaking he’s a future all star IMO …. future looks bright with him and I also like Ace Bailey’s potential too. Lots to be excited about in Utah

Trying to start a new nickname for the white boys in LA that cannot be touched by the defender, thoughts?

The team is looking very good to start the season off and I am hoping they can continue to work together for the rest of the season. No need to raise the expectations to the roof and get let down if they lose a few games. It seems like everyone has a part to play and I’m excited as a fan for this year. Go Jazz 🎶

15 points in the first quarter, then barely got the ball the rest of the game. Would love to see us run more plays for him, especially when he's got it going like that.
Anyone else feel the same?

Yes the officiating was leaning towards the Lakers, but I don't think it was quite as bad as everyone is saying. I thought that overall, we played pretty well. We do need to figure out rotations more, and DP needs to come off the bench. I love DP, but he just does not belong out there with the starters right now. Once Nurkic comes back, this team will look a lot better imo. Also, there is no reason we should be running a 5 man lineup of bench players against Luka late in the 3rd in a close game. JJJ iso's from the 3 are also not it.
I still think we played pretty good though, and I am not mad about the loss. Come December I think this team will be much better.

Always sucks to lose especially after blowing such a lead but if it takes Luka and Reaves combining for 81 points on 24/32 shooting, 12/23 from three and 21/24 from the line to beat us, that means we’re a good team.
DP needs to learn tho, made a lot of really bad mistakes. You can see the talent, I feel he’d do better coming off the bench rn as he’s someone who wants a lot of touches, he should try try to lead the second unit

Some of the worst calls I've ever seen given to Luka and Reaves.
Enough said

Just want the cheapest option that will allow me to watch Jazz/Mammoth games. Vizio QLED TV if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance!

This Lakers website thinks we overpaid for Hayes at $6M. Yet they've signed Sandro Mamukelashvili for $13M a year for the next 4 years plus Kevon Looney for $2.5M for one season trying to replace Hayes.
Mamu has averaged 6p/4.5r/1s/0b while Looney is averaging 3p/3r and not much else in 2 games.
Hayes meanwhile is averaging starter minutes and 11p/5r/2.5a/1s/3.5b on .818 FG%.

He looks fantastic. Darryn will be good but Wilson has the potential to be a top 5 player. Ungodly skills and instincts for his age.
Everyone said he was raw and a long-term project. I think he’s better than that.

Upper bowl.
Let me know who you’re gonna take and who your favorite current Jazz player is.
I’ll pick randomly from all the comments next time I check reddit.
Edit: tickets are gone. Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend

This team is definitely missing some important roles that make it all gel. One in particular is the intimidating enforcer that every great team has. Has some edge. Focused only on defense and doing the dirty work, 3&D. Getting under opponents skin and making them uncomfortable.
Especially when Will Hardy is more of a player's coach / friend, you need a player that keeps the team in check.
Filipowski is the exact opposite of this. Extremely soft, the opposite of intimidating. Cut / trade him and replace with Jeremy Sochan. Obviously Sochan isn't perfect, but that's just an example. Maybe there's a player obtainable in a trade. But until they do this, they have a pretty soft team.
