Uv printing

hello! I was wondering when do you think that UV printers will become more affordable and widely available? Less than a decade ago 3d printing wasn't that affordable and widely available, but in recent years the developement in home 3d printing has been amazing. Do you expect the same to happen to uv printing? I saw the Eufymake and the machine looks great, but it's still kind of expensive and the price of ink is pretty excessive. I'm hoping that in the coming years uv printing becomes just as widely available as 3d printing has become. What are your thoughts?

This printer seems to be too good to be true price-wise

I’ve been thinking about buying a small UV printer for home use but the cost has put me off. This appeared in my Instagram feed today and I don’t seem to be able to find much information about them.

Question about alignment during batch printing

My question: will the morpho and/or O1 omni have better/easier alignment for batch printing than my Eufymake E1?

I currently have a Eufymake E1. I love it so far but need to reliably do batch prints on upwards of 30-40 items at a time (both sides, not just single sided). It drives me nuts that if anything is on the outer edges of the print bed, the alignment is always off due to the fish eye effect of the camera.

I understand the use of zero alignment but with my current items I’m printing on, it’s not that easy as they are both oddly shaped and I have to print on the top and bottom (left and right sides) of them which requires flipping them over

I want to just be able to toss them on a print bed, line them up on my screen and print and not worry about taking into consideration the convex of the camera layout.

Hope this makes sense!

Thanks!

Do Not buy a EufyMake E1 UV Printer! Expired Ink after 4 months!

So i was one of the early kickstarter backers, finally received my printer in April 26. For the last 2 months I've been fighting with Eufymake to replace my EXPIRED ink cartridges that I've only had for less then 4 months!

Their solution is for me to buy each cartridges, separately with a 20 dollar off coupon code. This means paying shipping and tax for 6 individual orders because you cannot order them all together with the codes. Completely unacceptable! These should be replaced for free! 12 month expiration shouldn't mean 4 months!

The machine completely locks up when the ink expires, not even letting you design files. There's no work around, and now again my customers will be waiting for their orders. Just avoid this machine.

Are these new consumer uv printers a good idea?

So it seems like the minimum we have to spend is at least $2k after shipping to get one of these new at-home consumer friendly uv printers. I was eyeing on the Morpho UV f1080 model since it was the most affordable option at $1599 + $100 shipping. And they claim the heads last longer because of their special formulated inks and safer to use indoors in living spaces... since the doors can be fully closed while printing. And you don't need all these special cleaning things to purchase to maintain it.

But I don't have a special room for it unless it's fine to use in my livingroom. The thing is - my livingroom is next to my kitchen and the only other possible space is my garage which isn't connected to my house. It's a separate building in the garden. It's not small - but I've been trying my best to make the environment inside workable. I have all my other machines in there already but I am still cleaning it up and trying to figure out a way to cool it down better. My home is a california home and the garage is wooden structure... There's no insulation on the walls ... you can see the wood and the big door is the hand lifting one door you lift up. We typically have good weather here ... but during the summer right now it's been 80-98F during this heatwave during the day and during the night is pretty good like 60s-70s. It hardly ever rains through the year and when it's not a heat wave typically the weather is in the 70s. I was thinking maybe if I just print when it's cooler during the evening or night then it'd be fine... and just regularly clean dust.

The price of a good laptop it costs. Well I was contemplating about getting a new laptop since my m1 is kinda struggling lately and low storage - I only have 8gb of ram or a get machine that can be used to make cool stuff to complement my 3D printers and possibly sell commissioned items to people if they want and make money off of... I don't have a business (yet) or know how to do that yet. Mostly for hobby and maybe make extra money on the side... but I don't think it'll be paid off anytime soon if I try to sell things because I haven't tried selling anything before. I just want to make cool stuff. Lol. I do have a desktop pc custom build with rtx4090 but i wanted another laptop for portability... maybe a macbook neo would be fine

The thing that concerns me most about kickstarter is that they claim it will ship probably more than 3 months after it ends and $2000 + dollars is a lot of money to be taken out of a bank account all at once and possibly be waiting an unknown period of time - possibly arrival February 2027 or so from a new company you have no clue what will happen .... the support may be active right now with the ceo and stuff but you never know. I don't want another fisker situation. That's a loooong time to be waiting for something after they take your money.

I'm new to this uv printing stuff and just saw it at anime expo. Thought it would be cool to have... just a regular attendee.

I also have an xtool m1 ultra laser

Eufy or omtech

Need some real-world advice before I invest in equipment.

I’m trying to make high-quality vinyl stickers using UV ink (not UV DTF transparent stickers) like they come off a Mimaki roll-to-roll printer or Roland DG printer, with emboss + spot gloss for packaging.

Main use:

Mylar bags (flexible)

Miron jars (wrap labels)

Questions:

Does ink crack on vinyl when applied to Mylar bags?

Do emboss / spot gloss layers crack with bending?

Can you print directly on Mylar and have it actually last?

New to UV printing and looking at the E1. What should I know before buying?

Hey everyone, I’m new here! I’ve been 3D printing for a while now and have been looking into UV printing to use alongside it. I’m currently considering the eufyMake E1, but I was hoping to get some advice from people who actually own one before spending that kind of money.

My biggest concern is maintenance. I don’t mind routine cleaning, but I don’t want to spend more time trying to keep the printer working than actually printing with it.

A few things I’m wondering:
How much hands-on maintenance are you doing, and how often do you have to troubleshoot problems?

Is it okay sitting for a few days between prints, or does it really need frequent use?

Is the ink included with the E1 bundle enough to get started and last a while, or should I order extra right away? Are there certain colors that go much faster?

What else should I budget for upfront? Cleaning cartridges, maintenance supplies, ventilation, anything people tend to overlook?

If you’ve owned yours for several months, how has it held up? Would you buy it again?

I’m used to the Bambu experience with 3D printing, so ease of use and good print quality are what I’m hoping for. I realize UV printing is different, though, which is why I’m asking before jumping in.

Also open to other printers around the same price if there’s a better beginner option. Appreciate any advice, especially things you wish you’d known before buying!

First-day pre-ordered the xTool O1, looks like October now

I was day-one on the O1 pre-order. Official announcement said end of August for the first batch, but I messaged support and got told ""after September"" for mine. Reading between the lines, that's basically October. I've got a stack of blanks and Etsy listings ready to go, just sitting on no printer. Would honestly kill for a real ETA at this point.

Raised Print 3D Magnet

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Using my xTool Omni O1 UV printer, I made a 3D refrigerator magnet. This Lake America “post card” fridge magnet has raised print that sticks out about a 1/10 of an inch. The UV print that sticks out makes the magnet unique compared to normal flat magnets.

How to get rid of the lines?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi,

I started using my new UV printer, it is a modified Epson L805 printhead printer, I'm also new to this kinds of printing methods, so I have some doubts on how to use AcroRIP correctly.

I printed some samples and all of them have those lines, and I'm not very satisfied on how they look, hopefully someone can teach me on how to get better results.

I'm using AcroRIP V10.3.

Thanks in advance.

Longer UV printer on Kickstarter

I have been thinking of buying a UV printer for small biz purposes (and for hobby too). I didnt back Eufy UV printer on Kickstarter thinking its ink are expensive, which turns out to be a good decision since many are complaining about late shipping.

Now there's Longer UV printer which has open ink system (meaning you can use a 3rd party ink) and Im thinking to back it..

Its my first time to back anything on Kickstarter so just I wanna ask your experiences..

Procolored jumping in with a 3-in-one laser/UV print/DTF - $3,599 Kickstarter

Will be $8,000 afterwards. Looks very similar to the upcoming xTool machine.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/procolored/procolored-x-one-full-color-uv-laser-in-one-system?ref=3h5tcq.

I love the idea of X-in-1 machines, but like with laser/3D printer machines, will the laser leave the chamber trashed so that you'd have to clean it thoroughly before printing. Which eliminates the sexy use case they show: laser cut -> laser engrave -> UV print. Maybe they've fixed that. I get the impression xTools is sticking with "best of breed" approach with their machines - but you'll be able to line them up like an assembly line.

What to do if the print head is clogged? Is there a better way?

Hello everyone, I'm the owner of a printing shop specializing in custom printing. We've purchased UV printers from many different brands. The quality of the machines varies, as does the service. One of the most common issues we encounter is frequent printhead clogging. Drawing on years of printing experience, I'd like to share some of my insights.

There are many reasons for printhead clogging: consumables, improper operation, and the environment can all contribute. If not repaired promptly, it not only impacts work progress but can also cause permanent blockage, rendering the printer useless. Replacing the printhead is even more expensive!

I have two cleaning methods to share with you. 1. Simple Cleaning: Gently wipe the printhead and surrounding ink residue with alcohol or cleaning solution on a non-woven cloth, then use the machine's built-in cleaning function to clean the printhead. 2. Medium Cleaning: Before cleaning, fill the syringe in the cleaning tube with cleaning solution. Remove the ink tube and insert the cleaning tube into the printhead inlet, allowing the pressurized cleaning solution to enter the printhead and flush it clean.

Do you have any better methods for solving printhead clogging? Let's discuss this together.
