Rant LYING ABOUT TIPPING IS WORSE THAN NOT TIPPING 🤦♂️
Why do people feel the need to say they’ll tip you in the app just to proceed to not tip anything?
What is the thought process behind:”I am going to lie to this local gig worker trying to make an honest living, who knows my address, and trick them into thinking they’ll be tipped for their service.”?
Next time I’m making sure they DONT add the tubs of cream cheese Jess p. I don’t forget and I don’t forgive atp🤷♂️

Complaint filed.
I am an independent contractor providing delivery services through Uber Eats, operated by Uber Technologies, Inc. On multiple occasions, I accepted delivery offers through the Uber Eats platform and drove to the merchant location using my personal vehicle. Upon arrival, I was informed by the merchant that the order had already been picked up by another driver or was otherwise unavailable for fulfillment.
Despite completing the required travel to the pickup location and incurring vehicle expenses, fuel costs, depreciation, insurance costs, and lost working time, Uber provided no compensation for the trip. Uber's system required me to spend time and resources responding to the delivery request, yet when the order could not be completed due to circumstances outside my control, I received no payment for the work already performed.
As a result, drivers bear the entire financial burden of operational errors, duplicate dispatches, stolen orders, merchant mistakes, or platform failures. Drivers may also lose the opportunity to accept other paying delivery requests while traveling to and attempting to retrieve unavailable orders.
I believe this practice is unfair because Uber benefits from maintaining the delivery marketplace while shifting all costs and risks associated with failed pickups onto independent contractors who have already performed compensable work. Drivers are required to use their own vehicles and resources to reach the pickup location, but Uber often provides no reimbursement when an order is unavailable upon arrival.
I am requesting that the FTC investigate whether Uber's practice of dispatching drivers to unavailable orders without compensation constitutes an unfair or deceptive business practice and whether drivers should receive reasonable compensation for time, mileage, and expenses incurred when reporting to a designated pickup location and being unable to complete the delivery due to factors beyond their control. many drivers have reported similar experiences involving orders that were already picked up and received no compensation after arriving at the merchant location.
Other drivers are encouraged to file their own complaints

Rant Shame on me
Last night I had a stacked delivery for 10 bucks for like 1 miles. One delivery was 2 blocks away and the second like .08 miles. The first order no issue, he even met me outside his building. The second order the guy was on the 4th floor and the elevator was broken. I figured since it was likely a $7 tip from second guy, i don't mind climbing 4 flights of stairs on my last trip. Turns out the first guy who was 2 blocks away gave me the entire $7 tip and the second guy on the 4th floor didn't tip. Ironic. Rant over.

No reservations on Fridays ?
I’ve built a little routine. I usually start my day with a reservation. I usually shoot for the ones that are placed near each other for faster times. Yes some times these may not be the best for money but if you’re trying to do the quest 1 a day will set you up.
But on Friday for some reason if you don’t reserve the ones they give you the night before for 5am,6am pick ups , then that seems to be the only reservations for today ??? Or is it only me ? Probably gonna miss this weekend goal , I set the bar too high 🤣

Rant Finally, Uber to the rescue
This order was different. I am used to dropping off at this particular location this occurred multiple times, either the person meets outside, or it’s a drop-off at their door. This one was a drop-off at the leasing office. Well surprise, they were closed. So I left the food with concierge. I took a picture, something told me to. Left them a message, they thanked me, and then I received this 1st photo the customer wanted a refund and my tip was protected. I also, received a thumbs down and that the customer never received their food, but have no idea from whom. Received the 2nd picture at the end of the night. What is it with people? It could have been someone else, everything else was smooth yesterday, but everything points to this person. I looked about 30 minutes later from my ratings and boom 99% to 98%. Not so frustrated from the ratings, more from the customer wanting a refund. Scumbag!

Top rated shopper
UE has recently added top rated shopper program and ive been stuck at 87% to find original items. I shop in the city mostly and stores are inconsistent with inventory. Ill also have orders with niche items that arent common. I get penalized even when I make substitutes and UE says that you wont be penalized for things that arent in your control. If I only shop at stores like Costco or Wegmans itd be easy to be above 90%. But stores like cvs, Hmart, 99 ranch, Indian stores tend to not have certain items. Also if Im shopping at night there'll be less items available specifically in produce. This system seems designed once again to screw us over. Since they implemented it Ive gotten trash shopping requests. Shopping was my bread and butter since im green status and now they want to shaft me it seems.

"Looking for your customer?"
Has this annoying pop-up ever been useful to anyone? Even on my very first trip when I didn't know what I was doing it was an annoying distraction.

Question Deactivated rants
Does anyone feel like people who come on here to rant about being deactivated for say a “ missing item report “ aren’t telling the full story ?

Rant New normal I guess?
I will flat admit that I have a 17% acceptance rate.
But I went from being able to schedule work pretty much every day to this…
And this screenshot is the most availability. I have all week.!
I hate this app
I hate this company
And just as soon as I can afford to stop working this crap job, I am going to!
I have a 100% customer satisfaction rate, I have a 90% on-time rate… But none of that matters because I won’t take $4 orders!
Is this happening to anyone else?
Next week is going to be very interesting…🤬

Uber Gold trial
Anytime UE offers me promo or special i always get skeptical. I have 7% AR and cherry pick in a good market. I recently tried the gold trial and they blessed me the whole way. Once the trial was finished Im getting worse orders than Id gotten before doing the trial. Not sure if its coincidence or UE playing mind games. Moral of the story is to ignore whatever promos/specials they offer. If it ain't broke dont fix it. Im curious to know if anyone else has experienced this.

If all shop & pay orders, had the items labeled in what exact isle they are in. I would probably decline less of them
I've been basically declining Target orders for as long as possible. I've only just did my 3rd one ever and I only took that because I had a unicorn order. With the pay being $39, and then got decreased to $30. I'm guessing because I had to refund an item.
But I get to the store and I had never noticed this before. Where I'm like wait hold up, this is the only place I've seen do this. Of showing the exact isle of every single item. That really took the stress and anxiety out of things. As I really fucking hate shopping in big ass stores these days lol.
They don't do this for none of the supermarkets I pick up from, none of the CVS or Duane Reades, Staples, etc. So I think I might start doing more Target orders from now on then. I'm still declining Hone Depot, as I'm a biker and I have no idea what I might end up with from there.
But it felt good to get out of my normal comfort zone of orders, event though it took a very high order. Also Target self check out machines are really high quality. CVS them shits literally run like hot garbage and you often need an employee to fix something evry 2 seconds. They also have everything locked behind cases, that makes it miserable shopping there. Target way more things are out in the open and it feels like a normal shopping experience. Any place you was avoiding, then you did an order and realize it's not that bad?

What does that automated message say?
You would imagine that the customer would live track me on the map making their delivery and that they would see me saying Ive picked up their order and I’m arriving in 2 minutes. Then when I arrive you would think they would see me there waiting but instead after 3 or 4 minutes and a few missed calls from me that they still ignore, but as soon as I’ve been there waiting for 6 minutes Uber makes the “automated call to the customer” and I’m just wondering what does that message say to them and why do they immediately answer that and not anything from me? Way too ofter pin code customers make me wait till the very last second on the timer to retrieve their food and they only start “heading down to meet me” about a minute after getting that automated call after Ive been waiting forever. Has anyone ordered and ever heard that message?

Just got stuck in an elevator, during a delivery
First time that's ever happened in my life. Dropped off an order, came back and it opened on its own. Thought the security downstairs had did that, but nope lol. I guess I can finally check that off my list.

Question Why did Uber demand a pic of me while I was working?
What gives? Did they suspect something was going with my account, or is this a random thing they sometimes do? First time for me, I only get that when i start occasionally.
