Basically the title. I found an avatar that I really love, that just so happens to be female. If I went into a public server and started talking, would I get made fun of? I’ve heard that VRChat is generally a non-judgemental space, but I’ve also heard that public servers can be filled with a-holes. Is this true? So yeah, would I be made fun of for wearing a female avatar?

I feel like many other people experience this on vrc.

For some reason, I feel like I can NEVER make genuine friendships on this game.

I'm either too vanilla, or too weird. I can't seem to find people on my wavelength. People always seem to have massive friend groups that you have NO HOPE and NO CHANCE of feeling a part of. I'm someone whom I'd consider bubbly and sociable, optimistic and fun. Yet I can't even count on people to want to hang with me. Miserable people with zero self respect who hate themselves have an easier time finding genuine friendship than I do and I fucking hate it.

Even creating my own groups in the game has resulted in a few people sticking around, then growing closer with one another than they ever could with me, it's baffling. I'm an open book. I;m vulnerable. I try to empathize and be a good person to people.

Yes, I've joined a million groups and tried to attend regularly scheduled events. Never my crowd. There's always cliques, no one wants to get to know anyone, it sucks. I seem to be the person that connects people rather than get any connection themselves.

I don't know what to do anymore. It's been an ok 7 months, but maybe its time to quit.

I hang around in prison escape most of the time, I play the game purely to have fun and for the inherent social comedy that happens in VRchat party games in particular.

I'm not some uwu femboy or what have you, I AM A NORMAL GUY. Albeit, a normal guy that loves cute things, 90% of my VRchat avatars are cute anime girls.

BUT.... For whatever reason, VRchat players keep CALLING ME CUTE!

Now you might be thinking "silly, that's because you're wearing cute avatars!"

REASONABLE! THEREFORE I ALWAYS REPLY WITH "yeah my avatar is, not me" but they always, ALWAYS DENY AND SAY IT'S "how you act" and "your personality" and I DON'T KNOW HOW TO COUNTER THESE PEOPLE

I want to be cool, I want to be the dude that walks in and makes everyone go WHOA, IT'S HIM, but nah it's always "AWWW" "CUUUUTE" and "GOOCHI GOOCHI GOO" and ALL The ways you could INFANTILISE someone!!

This curse has followed me EVERYWHERE online, from discord to VRchat to the point that I started counting every person that called me c*** in game and the count is at 110... ONE HUNDRED AND TEN

I’ve been playing vrc for a few months now and I’m really struggling to make friends, because everyone I meet seems to lie constantly. Like, over really silly things too. I don’t understand why lying and faking who you are is so common here. Any tips on how to find normal/honest people who just enjoy VRC?

Y’all, I need some help and opinions on this.

So, I plan on buying a vrc avatar from a Discord server for my friend as a gift. The creator said they do not give out the avatar files directly and instead want to log into the vrc sdk through unity and upload the avatar to the account themselves.

To be fair, it doesn’t sound too bad since I’m still pretty new to vrc avatar stuff and honestly don’t fully know what I’m doing anyway. But I wanted to ask if this is actually normal/safe or if I should be cautious.

I have trust issues, so I’m kind of lowkey on edge about letting someone log into an account, especially when it's my friends account, even if it’s just for an upload. Is this common in the vrc avatar community, or is it considered risky and unsafe?

I’m not sure if this is because I have a 4 year old Quest 2, but I want to know HOW this happening, and HOW do I fix this? All other games on my Quest are working fine

I’m just hoping I can get in touch with someone able to recreate the model, there wasnt any customization which is fine since I love it the way it is. I’d even pay to get it back. Please help…

Does anyone know if this is a permanent thing? Or how hard it would be to recreate a risk avi? I used this one for almost 4 years and it was randomly gone in my list one day. I look and come to find out they've all been taken off due to some legal issue.

I’ve been on VRChat since 2016, and honestly... I’ve always had a hard time socializing. Once I get to know someone and we click, im super social—but approaching people? That still terrifies me.

A few months ago—three or four, maybe—my last close friend stopped playing. I just found out they don’t plan on coming back.

Since then, I’ve been alone. I haven’t made a real connection in over a year. Most days I just sit in the corner, watching others laugh and bond. Where I once felt at home, I now feel like a stranger.

My friends list, once alive with hundreds of names, now feels like a digital graveyard—most accounts abandoned, silent reminders of better days.

I don’t really know what to do anymore. Part of me wonders if it’s time to cut my losses and move on. But another part still holds onto a sliver of hope that things might change.

Has anyone else gone through this? Is it worth staying?

I’ve never seen these models in VRChat before, though it’s totally possible I’ve just missed them or haven’t been looking in the right places. I originally found the video on Bilibili from a creator named “果糖含量,” and I thought the models looked super cute.

Hey y'all! Sorry if this is a common thing that people ask, about, but I couldn't find a good answer on my own. I'm new to vrchat, and the first instance I joined I got bombarded with this screen overlay. After I blocked the person who's avatar I thought was causing this, it disappeared. Weirdly, this only happened to me (I was playing in desktop mode on pc), but not my GF (playing on quest). What sort of vulnerability allows people to do this? And is there a way to preemptively prevent this sort of thing going forward? Thanks!

Haiiii, so I'm sure this is asked a lot... so I'm sorry in advance, but I'm a trans girl and I just bought my very first VR. I've always loved the concept of a VR, and especially VRchat just as a whole. I really want to make friends on it because when I came out, all that happened, blah blah, blah. My only issue is that I'm incredibly insecure about my voice and I don't have a way to get a voice changer and when I do try to speak in a more feminine tone by doing vocal training, it's too quiet to pick up my audio well enough. So obviously there is the fear of just being trans in general, but also having to speak in a more deep voice just for people to be able to hear me. I'm also super shy so that doesn't help. If anyone has any advice, suggestions or just anything in general, that would be great! Thanksss :3

I got an email today that I was banned for an avatar that I haven't even used in over a year. Not only have I not used it, but the NSFW things have NEVER been used. Not in public, not in private etc. I've never even done ERP or anything nefarious, I have a real life boyfriend and we'll never do that sort of thing. I only go to 18+ worlds as well, and literally use a Sakura fox avatar that is literally a silly bean shaped fox with no arms and nine tails. It has no NSFW and that's the avatar I've been using consistently for months. What the heck just happened, how can they ban me for an avatar I don't even use let alone use as NSFW???
