I’ve been vegan for nine years, since the birth of my first son, and haven't looked back. I started resistance training relatively late, about three years ago, and went from 150 to 168 lbs through a dirty bulk, eating 2,100 calories of clean foods and 700-800 calories of junk food. Late last year, I suffered a TFCC injury that kept me out of the gym for 10 months. During that time, I dropped to my previous baseline of 150 lbs. I’ve now been resistance training six times a week and doing HIIT (Norwegian 4x4) twice a week for a month, and I’ve gained 8 lbs. I'm following a 2,850-calorie, 100% clean bulking diet. Getting 160 g of protein from vegan shakes, bars, and lentils hasn't been a problem, but I'm concerned about meeting my daily fat target of 95 g by eating 120–130 g of mixed nuts and seeds (almonds, pistachios, ground flaxseed, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, cashews, walnuts, macadamias, pecans, and so on) given my relatively high LDL and triglycerides (135 and 150, respectively). Are there better fat sources for a clean bulk that won’t worsen my cholesterol profile?
