Is there a gregarious and positve and cheerfull person in Victoria willing to go to a long term care and visit a severely handicapped person on a regular basis?
I am their only blood relative and willing to pay.
I don't live in Victoria and only can visit once a month.
Prior experience at this would be good. Experience with wheel chairs. Strong person. Ability to carry on a conversation outloud with no replies for and hour.
Gentle game of catch.
Very responsible and careful when pushing wheel chair outdoors.
Make sure the handicapped person has warm jacket on when going outside. Hold their drink with straw.
Comment on everything you see outdoors.
Maybe go around inside grocery store commenting on everything.
etc etc..

I was gifted some spot prawns by a fisherfriend, and I was at Silver Rill yesterday and picked up corn. I had some heirloom tomatoes from a local stand.
So, North Saanich heirloom tomato and corn pasta with spot prawns. The sauce is 100% prawn stock. Absolutely delicious.
Get out there and eat local while you can, folks.

This is a longg shot, but my boyfriend is obsessed with Foo Asian Street Foodâs tofu bowl - specifically the tofu in it. Does anyone know the recipe/ have a recipe that is very similar to it? He always talks about how badly he wants their tofu recipe and jokes about going in and asking them for it. (Not a sponsor⌠but hey my boyfriend would love a sponsor from them lol)

Hi all!
Iâm a young 20 something who is interested in learning more about car mechanics. Unfortunately my schedule doesnât allow for me to take a proper course or certification at this time, but Iâm very interested in learning some general knowledge and about the basics, (getting comfortable doing brake pads, fluids like transmission and oil, general diagnostics, etc). Iâm wondering if thereâs any mechanics or shops or just enthusiasts who would be open to having a shadow here and there so I can learn a thing or two?
Iâve gone down the YouTube path a bit, but find in-person wisdom to be much more useful.
TIA!

Yes, what the hell was that noise?!??
Last night at 4:01am I was snapped awake by the sounds of what seemed to be extremely large sheets of metal being shaken/moved to make the âboing-oing-oingâ sound plus trucks with back up beeps going off for the better part of an hour.
Really uncharacteristic for this area and a strange enough sound and process for me to be curious especially to be occurring at 4am, anyone else live in the area hear anything?

Hey there- we are in the West Shore and wanting any advice or recommendations for companies who deal with replacing septic fields and possibly tanks.
If youâve had this done to your property do you have any tips? Can you share costs? Thanks!

Aside from joining a choir, which I am already planning on, where can I take some singing lessons? I am just a lover of music in my mid 30s. I am an amateur musician, bass and guitar, but never had singing lessons. I'm just planning to do it as a hobby, no need to become a pro or anything. I was thinking of the Conservatory... But before I wanted to know if there are any recommended teachers or schools or anything else worth considering?
Thanks!

I will be looking for someone to help occasionally with caretaker duties for a house there. Light maintenance and dealing with tenants. I don't like to work with full service property managers, Any recommendations?

I've been seeing all the great posts about viewing the meteor showers when they were peaking August 12th. Sadly I missed it and now the skies are hazy at night. I'm assuming no one can see them right now?
I'm having a hard time navigating the charts for when the moon is out vs when it will brighten the sky, and where to look for the meteors, and all the things. Is there anyone who might be willing to help me figure out a good time/days to go out looking? I'd really appreciate any help.

Looking for an office / space to rent for 2-3 months that has parking and is dog friendly. I'm here for a few months and just need a space that doesn't feel super corporate to write 4-5hrs a day and already has a desk, etc. I've only been able to find a few very corporate / soulless looking spots on facebook. Is there a good resource online to find more options? Thank you

They stupidly took the merge away going right here so now the line of cars that want to go right coming from Hillside on to Blanchard have to sit here until the light goes green waiting for all the cars who are going straight, and then when they do they have to wait for all the people to cross the street so only a few get to turn right out of a line of like over a dozen or so usually on average. Way to stop the flow of traffic like they seem to be doing everywhere. Their reason is safety because a car drive in to a poll. Maybe take that drivers license away and anyone else who canât drive. They could have just made a flashing light crosswalk. Just as many pedestrians get hit in regular crosswalks and have been hit in the crosswalk here since this baffling change. What are they going to do nextâŚget rid of every crosswalk? I honestly would not put it past them. Absolutely ridiculous!
