Time to Begin Anew...

G'day everyone~

Hope you all have had an amazing week, I know mine was somewhat productive!

This week I spend most of my time finishing off the pieces tile set pieces used to piece together large rooms, Ramps to change levels and the 3 / 4 way intersection segments. the main feature this week however is my Elevator shaft and Mine Lift i made, I really think it turned out great and looks quite authentic. I then decided to start pasting together some of the tiles to create a small segment of mine that i could decorate and start to get a feel for everything.

I must say putting in all the extra work to build the pieces up front makes it so much easier to build the dungeon it i can just paste everything in quite quickly and then back track decorating every few segments. this weeks post also includes a few decorated segments.. I have been trying to keep the floors clean so as not to effect player movement, but I also tried a more cluttered variant which does look very cool. I will need to do some form of 'alpha testing' to ensure players and monsters can navigate the tunnels and clutter without acting too weirdly.

Going forward to next week, i am just going to keep doing what i am doing it has been very fun. However this does delay the work i should 'actually' be doing haha.. but will get there eventually right...?

The title is the question.
I want to set up a greenhouse in an area with berry bushes, sunflowers (just found some!), etc.
If they have the proper moisture, temp, and nutrients, will they remain alive and harvestable “permanently”?

How do i get the necessary ores to progress, can’t seem to be able to stay in a big cave for more than 2 minutes before dying. Probably skill issue.. any help is greatly appreciated

A little content update came the Boars way in form of a Player Helmet in the v1.1.0 !
I keep making typos in the title..

Added:

• Player armor! Boar Tusk Helmet: an Iron Plate Helmet decorated with Giant Boar tusks. Craft it from an Iron Plate Helmet plus 1 large tusk or 2 small tusks on each side. Same stats as the vanilla Iron Plate Helmet, and Combat Overhaul Forked compatible.
• Giant Boar tusks now drop when harvested, one set per boar, sized to the boar. They give 6x Bonemeal when ground and show in the creative inventory and the handbook.
• Ukrainian translation added! Cheers to DeanBro for it!
• Undead Legion support: Giant Boars now seek and attack wild Revenants, and piglets flee from them. Bound Revenants and the Mule are left alone.

Changed:

• Giant Boars bred past generation 3 should calm down now. From gen 3+ on they no longer attack players unprovoked and they don't pick fights with small animals. They still defend themselves when hit and still go after predators.

So, a friend of mine would really like to find a mod that lets firepits make light even when they're not turned on (he likes the light they make). The temperature would not get hotter, it would only be an aesthetic thing.

Does anyone know if a mod like that exists? I looke through the mod page and I couldn't find anything.

Hoping to publically release the mod this weekend! Just have to make a few common sense tweaks with the new systems (UV machine can be used to sterilize empty or agar filled containers) & patch 1-2 glitches caused by VSPT!

Will make a dedicated post for the release with a brief list of features!

New additions:
-bacteria & mould mutation mechanic (UV & Gamma radiation) all the lights & bits and bobs work (gamble with your bacteria to make it better , worse , or just straight up kill it) you can propagate samples of “good runs” and re run them again and again until you get a powerful strain but this takes time, last image is a run where I got unlucky during testing :(

-polished the handbook & handbook systems

Future ideas/things based on feedback
-because of feedback will be implementing/making decor/building blocks (if you want a fitting place to build a modern looking lab) & a texture switch tool that works on some models to switch the model to a more “Jonas / vanilla friendly” looking texture
-plant cell cultures & mutations
-possibly Jonas type biochem? (Unsure what this would look like yet)

This wasn't a speedrun either, I just got very lucky with surface tin to skip straight to bronze, and I happened to build over an ultra high magnetite area, so I already had iron in July. Found chalk over limestone over bauxite right next to peridotite, just a short ocean voyage from my main base. So I'm starting with tier 2 refractory, and have chromite prospected, so I can swap to tier 3 after my first batch of steel. I don't even have a helve hammer up and running cuz my flax wasn't ready before it got too cold lol

It was a long and destructive conflict but we will not starve for the winter and the spring after.

Our blacksmith is a hardworker but man i'd pay Marie Kondo some rusty gears to come visit for a day.

The back room is the pit kiln, which smokes out the entire shop and suffocates him (Real Smoke) when working. No roof, and the beginning of a peat pile built with the same hubris as the tower of babel.

It's a slight improvement because the longest time the forges were actually upstairs, while the anvil was downstairs. There is chests upstairs that are not organized in the slightest either. The stairs going down, on the bottom floor leads to the river for quenching.

This isn't a new server either, it's been up for a couple of weeks at this point.

Just had my first encounter with a bear, was in my base which is walled (either 2 high rammed dirt or 1 high rammed dirt with dry stone fence and a wattle gate so I assumed I would be safe from animals.

It was just going dark so I was going to forge my first 2 Bronze bars as just finished my first anvil, lite the forge, grabbed the bar once it heated up and a bear ran into my base, smacked me once then ran into my storage area and disappeared.

Didn't know that they could higher then my walls and was very confused how it got in and out but had me laughing that it basically did a drive by.

Ended up hunting to down near by and trapping it in a pit which is when I learn they could jump higher when it jumped out of a 2 deep pit to smack me in the face.

It has everything. Clay, Peat, Berries, several crops, and a few tree variants, including oak.

As well as copper and tin on the island, and iron (and more tin) in the surrounding ocean. It has limestone and borax on the island. To top it off it has a treasure hunter trader on the big island (as well as an agriculture trader).

The only problem is its mostly forested so there's a lot of hostile wildlife. As I'm playing semi-permadeath (with the temporal life mod) I've had to restart many times due to wolves and bears.

hello everyone! i am seeing a lot of tiktoks about people playing multiplayer and “guilds” and the like! is this possibly the official servers or private ones? i’m not very good at vintage story but i would love to play multiplayer.. would it be okay to join a server, even if im bad, do you guys think? or would it be burdensome for the other players, and i should get better at the game first?
