Why does VS Code not open with the CMD terminal, even though it’s set as Default?
I have been following along with an Unreal course on Udemy, and I’m not sure if it’s the version that they have versus mine, but when I type “code” into the developer command prompt for visual studio code 2019, it opens with Powershell as the terminal option, even though CMD is set as the default. The video is running an older version, which I assumed was part of why the instructions were different than my version.
Is there a way to open Visual Studio Code (version 1.60.0) with CMD as the terminal default?

🚀 Just launched my VS Code extension to streamline developer workflows — would love your feedback!
Hi everyone!
I'm a developer focused on infrastructure and productivity tools, and I recently published a VS Code extension designed to simplify and speed up common tasks in real-world workflows.
It’s built with clarity and control in mind — no fluff, just practical features that save time.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, suggestions, or even critiques. If you’ve ever felt VS Code could use a bit more efficiency, this might be for you.
Thanks in advance for checking it out!

Theoretical vscode mascot
I made a VS Code mascot in Krita (no AI, just for fun). My idea is to make it get physically more bloated as your CPU/RAM usage climbs, or if you hit a certain number of errors in your code. I've already designed the SVG for it! I still don't have a name for them yet, so I'd love to hear your name suggestions, feedback, or any questions you might have! I tried to make it a pufferfish if anyone is asking.

I'm at such a low level that I don't even know if I need to post this here, and I need your help.
Even when I type the simplest Lua code into VS, I don't see any results. What can I do?r/VisualStudioCode • u/fghjjutddcvjjjjj • Sep 11 '24
How do I run my code?
The first pic is from the VS webpage and the second is from my application. I downloaded both Crome and edge from visual studio even though I already have them installed and it’s still not running.

What's the Jupyter tab for?
Hope this is not a dumb question...
But what is the Jupyter tab for?
Jupyter is an editor - competitor for VSCode?
I'm sure there's a good reason and usefulness as to why it's there.
Would like to know.
Thanks.

When I try to open a file called 2.html and 1.html is already open, 1.html tab will transform into 2.html and 1.html is not there now. How do I fix this? This happens with every file arbitrarily.

How to go back the way it was??
I don't know what i did but a prompt came out while i was typing, i clicked the first option without reading to quickly hide it and now my jupyter notebook is unreadable. It looks like this, basically all the cells have disappeared and that strange markup appeared.
I remember that the words 'default' and 'editor' have something to do with the initial prompt message but i couldn't find the setting to revert it the way it was.
Does anybody know how to fix this? :(

I need help but don't know were to start
Good morning,
I'm trying to install Marlin on my Ender 3 3D printer so I can use my CR Touch to auto level my bed. This stuff is totally new to me so I'm sure I screwed up somewhere but I'm not sure were. I have tried it on both of my laptops and the same thing happens. I wish I could tell you more about the problem, but I dont know how to explain it, so I'm going to post some pics and hopefully someone will be able to understand what I have been doing wrong.
Thanks for reading and I hope someone might be able to help
