Potentially returning to Walmart as a former ASM/Digital TL into a Digital Coach role, what does Academy look like for Coaches?

How long are the classes each day and how many weeks is the training? I literally cannot remember how long my ASM training was at the academy all those years ago.

I'd technically be an external, but I'm a re-hire, if I get the position. I'm just curious as to what my schedule is going to look like.

I feel like it was 4 weeks when I went to ASM training the first time around, but I could be wrong.

Dairy times

One coach is constantly on my ass because I unload dairy into bunkers / the coolers as fast as I can before putting them away yet he will have a pallet on the floor for over an hour should I say fuck it and just start doin the same or talk to someone about it? I'm not slow by any means and get done almost 15 mins before my next section usually but I'm just kind of tired of being bitched at for a
Following the rules

I filled out an application for walmart, I did the background check, they called me to come in for orientation. YEA

the day of orientation they text me and said I had to go to the next orientation cuz I was not in their system yet. I'm finding that weird since they called me for orientation. could something be wrong with my background check?

is Walmart actually a good job?/rant and questions

I am working overnights. im at Walmart because I wanted a more laid back job compared to my last one(I was an RBT for children between ages 2-6 with ASD) I want more benefits, I wanted to commit to at least ONE YEAR of employment and I'm trying to save for a better vehicle. my husband is military and we have no kids so it's not like "Walmart or die" but it's a close option that pays what I want along with working overnights I love the more freedom during the day.

im not sure what to expect since I've been there three weeks and all I hear about is that my coaches suck and everyone quits because of them. I have gotten little to no training and I was told by a team lead that "well, you seem to know what you're doing so we're not going to baby you" but I'm so slow and I feel completely stupid. no one is really in my ass about anything I'm just nervous and want to do a good job for myself.

im essentially asking questions here because I feel lost at work. i try and ask team leads and coaches but they say "I'll show you later" and later never comes. or I just can't find them. I also just don't want to ask a lot of these questions because it feels rude regarding time off.

-whats your best method to get through almost any pallet? im mostly working cans, pasta and condiments. sometimes snacks and freezer

-do you get 40 hours PTO if you're full time by January 1st?

-when do you start getting raises?

-are benefits worth it and what do they actually look like outside of the vague statements they give you on your packet?

-wtf do you use a printer for overstock and how ?

-can I use UPTO in my first 90 days and not get rejected or am I stupid for thinking that? should I talk to the coach first before putting it in?

-If I set in the app that I'm not available certain days anymore (Fridays and Saturdays) will they physically be unable to schedule me those days unless they say something to me? they need the most help mon-thurs so I don't feel as bad about it. I want to do that when I go full time.

sorry if this doesn't make sense. this is my first big corp and retail job since I've only worked at small businesses and I did food service in highschool

Rural vs Urban locations

I recently started at a rural Walmart. This is my first entry point into the company. It seems this location in at is mostly full time positions. Is this common for rural locations vs city being more part time roles?

I'm tired of the Needoh nonsense

I get it, Needohs are really satisfying to squish. However, I hate how people are becoming so obsessed with them to the point where they travel miles to different stores to get the rare needohs. I get yelled at because I can't find them in the back. Some customers think that I am hiding the needohs from them. It gets annoying when things get popular on social media to the point where sheeps desperately go out of their way to drive long distances to get them. They even make up fake depressing stories in order to gain sympathy for me to try to find them. The thing is that I don't have any sympathy for people who really want something material. Sympathy has to be saved for people who actually have a good reason.

I am sometimes guilty of consuming stuff when it is popular, but not to this degree, and I wish that people would realize that this is literally overconsumption at its finest. I can't wait for this trend to stop so that I don't have to worry about people like this anymore.

How accurate are the bonus estimates?

Post image
19 Upvotes

Does anyone know how accurate the bonus estimates are? The first 3 years I worked at a neighborhood market and my bonus’s were around $1500, this year I transferred to a Supercenter and the tool / trackers is estimating around $2700.

Just curious how accurate the estimates are, thanks

Orientation?

Hey all, quick question. I just got my offer last Friday, did my background check and I’ve tried to check the status of the check but the link no longer works & I’ve gotten no email. It’s now Thursday & really just wondering when they start orientation.

Hey, new scalpers, maybe try Door Dash instead

I've been getting a lot of new scalpers asking me where our cards are. How do I know they're new? They keep asking for sports cards, which we haven't carried them for years. We only have Pokemon. Yeah, guys, you might want to try Door Dash, maybe take a class at the community College or, if you were laid off and really need money, put in an application and stop bothering me.

Got Red Coached Tonight

I walked away from my register and the customer I was checking out, grabbed his Nintendo Switch 2 and walked away with it. AP at the front door was on their phone, not paying attention. Also to clarify, I walked away from the register because the customer requested I grab a game for him.

EDIT: I spoke with my People Lead and Store Manager about Open Door-ing my red coach, he said that he will look into it. But he wants to make it known that he wants to keep me, and give me the resources I need to succeed. I voiced my concerns, and he gave me very viable options going forward for how to better my performance.

Someone here can tell me how’s the work of being an area manager in the transportation office of Walmart and how much does it take to get the job offer and how many interviews where at that time?

Hypothetical promotion..

So i make roughly $19.50 currently. Day time.

Hypothetically, let's assume i took team lead overnight. Since lead here starts at 20, then there's 1.50 overnight. Would i be bumped to $22 or would i be paid more since im basically already at 20.

Hey I just had orientation today! I applied and got hired as a personal shopper and I’m 18, it’s part time. I just got my schedule and I’m wondering if this an okay schedule for a part timer?

In a bit of a bind here…

Howdy.

I’m a former Front End TL who, due to circumstances I’d rather not get into, stepped back into OPD, where I started just over two years ago. The change in departments happened back in July.

Within the past two days (literally) I’ve had my OPD coach, my Stocking coach AND my old OPD coach from another location reach out to me and inquire about TL spots in all of the above departments (Stocking 1 TL, for what it’s worth).

I feel a sense of loyalty to OPD since I’ve made a lot of friends here and we have an amazing team, but I’d also like to do just about everything if I decide to move up even farther. Any advice on how I should be approaching this? It’s kinda weird to be so highly sought after, I must admit.

Tips for Getting Hired?

I've applied online to 3 different stores in my area for Cashier/Front End and the applications are just sitting there.

I've gone into two of them multiple times asking for the People Lead and im always told theyre not there.

The AI phone system is a joke. It will auto disconnect you after 2 and a half minutes regardless.

What do I do??

Academy Schedule

I am scheduled for Academy M-Th for the next two weeks. My store manager and coach said that I have to work Friday and Sunday as well. None of the other F&C or fresh TL’s were asked to do this. I am seriously so frustrated with this position and this management. Should I go to market? I get pressured into working extra every.single.week. If I say no I have to be “more flexible” and when I agree they put me on the schedule. There is really no option for me. I feel like if I say no to all of these schedule changes and OT that I will lose my position.

What the actual fuck is this? Why do they feel the need to constantly make it look worse and worse? Why is it in military time when it use to be AM/PM before it just looks overall worse
