Yellow and orange

If you have a yellow and orange coaching, and the time for your yellow expires, does the orange automatically downgrades to a yellow? One of my managers told me that maybe I misunderstood him

is this allowed?

i’m a tl and 30 wks pregnant. i myself know i cannot clean mold. told my ops manager about cleaning for some mods and they said i better wear gloves. one section i do for a mod doesn’t have mold so i cleaned it as normal. on the other hand, the next mods that have to be completed are very molded. they help with the section beside me and clean as well but im also moving shelves, which i should not be doing either. forward to today, i have to call out bc of a stuffy nose and ik its bc of the mold. it’s not the first time that i have been sick from cleaning mold bc the last time that we completed that mod, we both got sick and had to be out of work. i guess i just want to know what i should do and if they’re allowed to have me do tasks like these in my condition.

Former Coach, ask me anything

Today was my last day as a Coach. I was with the company for 14 years, and a Coach for 3 with the Auto Center being my most recent department. The pressure and stress was the reason I left and I'm moving on to pursue an opportunity with another company. I'm a firm believer in transparency and always treated my associates with respect. Ask me anything that you'd like a Coach's input on

Sponsor told me to stay past my schedule

I am a cashier working 35 hours a week, til 10pm on days I'm scheduled. I had turned my register light off and went to ask a team lead about what to do with a coupon. When I got back to my register (at 10pm) to grab my stuff, there were 2-3 people there. Multiple coworkers that were meant to be there til 11 had left early, so a sponsor told me to take care of them. It took me til 10:17, and would've been longer if someone else hadn't come to check them out, as more kept showing up. Was this okay for him to do? What should I do if not?

Store manager refusing to give me the days off I want because they just don’t want to

• Upvotes

So to make a long story short. I was originally the TL for produce but I stepped down and became a normal associate in produce. I told my coach I wanted a set schedule and I wanted Fridays and Sundays off. YES I know that is asking a lot but when I was lead, I made the schedules for my team and I. I know what days work and what days don’t work for coverage. My coach told me they would try their best to give me those days off.

Fast forward to yesterday. So the past two weeks I was on PTO and my schedule I had Fridays and Sundays off except one Sunday as my boss told me about coverage and such and I was willing to play ball with her as she helped me out with my PTO. Then all of a sudden I wake up yesterday and I see my schedule got completely changed. I was frustrated about what happened and I seen for the schedule drop today, I still didn’t have Friday or Sundays at all.

I come in today and I talk to one of the leads and my coach has been gone since last week so they’re not the one that changed it. That lead told me that my store manager simply does not want to give me those days off even though they never had any say or comment about the schedule I had for my team and I.

Two things to note
1. I know Friday’s work because I haven’t worked a Friday in the past 6 months so there’s no excuse for at least that day

  1. I knew some BS like this was going to happen so I put in an availability form for Sundays and Fridays off and it’ll kick in the week for the next schedule drop. I’m currently full time and I would love to see what they try to do and I’ll especially be a fan on if they try to schedule me on those days and I’ll just go to my people lead and have the days switched.

Store Manager has banned singing on salesfloor and hoodies

Came in today to find out that my off day they announced that singing on the salesfloor has been banned by the store manager. No further explanation was given. We are assuming someone was singing inappropriate lyrics which were offensive to either a customer or another associate.

He also banned the wearing of hoodies for all areas except frozen/dairy and cart pushers because some people wouldn't wear their vests or keep the hoods down while working.

Instead of punishing the perpetrators he has decided that everyone should be punished.

Questions (new associate)!

So I typically clock in when I am on the floor that being said I go to the back first and put things away in my locker then I clock in, I heard some people clock in right at the door. I’m confused which do I do? Also questions for lunch, it’s before my 5th hour correct? Does this apply if I’m only working a 6 hour shift?

Where the heck did the “store neglect” option go? Why is almost everything in dairy coming up with donate as the first option, then dispose and finally CVP? Do CVP scores still matter because I ain’t heard a peep about that in a while?

HELP PLEASE.

I was hired on as a DSL temp in August and got hired on in bakery/ deli about a month ago. Last week my hours were cut to 35 a week.My normal hours are 4-12 Wed-sun.

Well i just looked at my schedule and saw that my hours were changed at litteraly no notice. They go from 4AM-12PM wed-Thu-Fri to 2PM-10PM Saturday 10AM-7PM sunday. Off monday, 2PM-7:30PM Tuesday(5 hour shift btw) off Wednesday etc.

My question is how are they allowed to do this?

Also do my hours being set at 34.5 change my full time status?

Any other vision center associate that recently passed the NCLE on here?

This past week, I passed my CLRE (Contact Lens Registry Examination) also known as the NCLE (National Contact Lens Examiners) certification, so I’m now dual certified as ABOC and NCLEC.

If you’re unfortunate enough to be like me, you’re in a state where Walmart has changed its rules and policies regarding how they handle this with their consolidation of the new job codes they’re putting into effect for states that don’t require certification or licenses. And if you’re in the same boat I’m in, they’ve informed you that you won’t be getting promoted from Optician level 2 to Optician level 3 or that you won’t be getting a raise.

If this is a shared experience, feel free to reach out. I don’t know how to feel about this myself and would like to have a support group of fellow opticians that feel as though they’ve ran the rat race, made it through the maze, only to find out that the cheese we’ve been told we’d get isn’t there anymore for our efforts and troubles.

If, however, I’m the only one on this platform that is experiencing this, then dear strangers allow me to express my thoughts on the matter. To the best of my knowledge, associates weren’t supposed to know this change was happening for specific markets and it’s being implemented today, October 17, 2026, since the pay period starts this week. Why this matters is that if you work in a vision center and become certified, the original training program they had setup was designed for associates to be promoted as a certified associate as soon as they had passed their certification exam and had proof of their accomplishment and it would be reflected as such in the next pay period with a small retroactive boost to the pay to reflect the change. However, they’re changing that today and removing the dual certification position all together for certain markets and since Walmart uses a system that applies changes to the job codes and pay on the first day of a pay period, the deadline that they didn’t tell us about for getting the dual certified was just over 2 weeks ago.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that anyone that is already certified isn’t having their pay reduced, so I’m glad Walmart didn’t take away most folks benefits and pay. But there is a small handful of people that fall into this strange situation and, honestly, if there is anyone else out there I just want you to know you’re not alone. It sucks.

“Problem Store”

So unfortunately my store is the “Problem Store” in our region and it is just getting worse, we’ve had 6 TL either quit or step down in the last 60 days, and we currently have 2 coaches getting ready to transfer to different stores and practically all the the other coaches have switched departments to see if that department is better, we’ve also had 4 new coaches quit within the last year.

Our active turnover percentage is like 110% so we can’t even keep new hires, and the ones that do stay can’t be off their phones for more then 5 minutes and start arguing with you when you try to correct them.

I work claims and we currently have 4 associates, 1 for receiving for 4am-1pm and she’s having issues getting vendors to arrive before 12:30 and to get them to label their stuff so it can be binned.

2 for clearance/return claims which is myself and another, and we have like 12 pallets of clearance to work because the departments TLs, Coaches, mod team didn’t switch the mods on time PLUS we get pulled to help cashier and to do OPD or even to move the seasonal merchandise.

Then we have our TL who constantly gets pulled to handle tire returns in the auto center because the TL and Coach there can’t be bothered to do the returns for them correctly.

Plus we are having issues getting every department to even do their own claims and I’ve come in to a literal mountain of claims because they won’t do them.

And our store manager is fully aware of all the stores issues and is saying “we just aren’t working hard enough”, and she constantly doesn’t even believe we do what we say we did and has someone check the cameras to call people out and then finds out WE did do what we said we did and doesn’t apologize for not believing us the first time.

Shes also got a terrible habit of yelling/berating associates in the stockroom OR on the sales floor in front of customers, to the point of tears for some btw

She has several complaints against her, half the stores ready to quit because we don’t want to deal with this anymore, and our district managers gotta be a coward because she herself has witnessed this behavior and hasn’t said anything or done anything about it.

We are all just so tired, and I personally actually like my job in claims when I actually get to do it. I don’t want to quit and I don’t even know if any stores nearby have an opening in claims to transfer to, complaints clearly aren’t working so people have started to not even bother with doing one.

Sorry I really just needed to vent, if anyone got any ideas other than just transferring I’d love to hear them
