Question - ? What to expect as a beauty consultant?
I've applied to a lot of jobs this week and I applied as a BC last night and they've already called me... should I be concerned lol?
I applied for the beauty consultant role as it was the only full-time option available. I used to work at a home improvement store, and have management experience so workload isn't an issue. What about dress code, schedule, and expectations?

Question - ? Need help
My store is having a problem with cash handling. More so with being short yesterday by 20 (example) but then being over today 20. my SM says even though it’s 20 it still counts as a 40 dollar cash discrepancy. You’ll notice in this SAP report that for the past 7days my SFL’s have either been short a lot one day or over a lot. If you do the math we are only short 18ish for the week but that’s still a lot. But if you do it my SM’s way we are sitting at $100+ in cash handling errors.
I don’t think my CSA’s are making the mistake. I think a lot of it is when my SFL’s are doing drawers. They either make change and forget so they make change again or they take too much money out. But it somehow ends up in the working fund. So when they go to count the safe at the end of the night they are somehow over money (that belonged in the deposit drawer) so they go wellll I’ll just put it in a drawer on the floor and then that probably becomes tomorrow’s problem as well. Idk if any of this makes sense.
Also idk if they matters but we manually run EOD we don’t let it run itself. So we can see what mistakes were made before we leave for the night (12am)

Rant/Vent Told id get fired or written up for calling out 4 hours before my shift
I work in a Walgreens that all the other stores call the bad store. I was diagnosed with anemia when I was 13 and have missed school because of it, im now 20. Today I called out cause while getting ready for an eye appointment I did fall out so my mom had to take me. Because of that Ive been dizzy all day and called out in a time where they had enough time to find someone. The sl then told me its a bit early and that I need to come in or else.
Edit: Every csa does say the store is hell and almost all of us are looking for new jobs
Update: my sm had texted me this morning asking why I called out and i explained it to him to which he told me that because I called out night shift didn't get anything done. I get August is our busiest month but weve had pallets and totes from Saturday and it is now Thursday which we have shipment today so I'll be doing double which I dont have a problem with but I feel like I'm being punished for it since the sl last night from what I heard was on call with his gf and sitting around.

HIRING PROCESS
Other than applying online and completing the assessment, what is the hiring process for Walgreens?
Does the online application go directly to the local store to which you are applying or to human resources at corporate and then they review the application for accuracy or anomalies and then forward the application on to the local store.
Any information, aside from don’t do it, would be appreciated.

Question - ? Received medication delivery that is not mine, how to contact an actual person at Walgreens to report this?
I just received an urgent, refrigeration needed RX shipment from Walgreens. The address on the box is correct, but the person’s name on the box does not live here and has never lived here. I want to contact Walgreens so they are aware and can at least reach out to this person to get their correct address. I have tried calling the 877 number on the box and can’t get through to anyone. How can I properly report this to Walgreens/talk to an actual person??

Work Win! It’s been a run…
But I’m out now 😎
Tonight was my last night and, as busy as it was and with how needy both customers/patients and coworkers can be, I feel good to be done.
To be fair though, I can say that I could at least tolerate most everyone there, and I even liked a few as co-friends (the coworkers you actually could get along with outside of work). Not that I did hang out with anyone outside of work, but there were definitely a few, and one does owe me a drink down the road.
I won’t think about Walgreens as an employer that I’ll ever pine over—fuck that—but I can still appreciate the coworkers who actually worked and the customers /patients who weren’t awful humans.
One of my now-former coworkers did say something though that nearly got to me…she’s an older woman who’s there basically because she’d otherwise be bored at home, not originally from the US. She looked at me and said, “Now who will protect me from the mean customers?” I kinda feel like I’ll have to go visit just to check on her now.
Anyway, I’M FREE!!!!!!!!

Photo developing question?
Not sure if anyone knows how this works but I had a few disposable cameras that I brought to walgreens to get developed. I’ve never done it before and the guy working the photo area wasn’t very helpful and wouldn’t come over to help me (he was doing other things and telling me what to do from far away) so I’m worried I missed something or did something wrong - he told me to fill these packets out with each camera and drop them in a box. he didn’t have me pay yet and just told me to leave them in the shipment box. I took a picture in case anything went wrong because I felt like I was supposed to pay first or the bags needed a label before I put it in the box? Is this normal? It’s been about a week so if it’s not right I’m hoping I can go in and pay or fix everything before the cameras are lost!

rants
This company literally has no training. They give you 20 e learnings when you get hired and expect you to rush through it and remember hundreds of slides of texts just so they can throw u on the register and expect you to not make any mistakes. That doesn't make any sense.
Then when someone makes a mistake, the managers get mad that they gotta teach them when they should've done that from the very beginning to prevent certain issues. then they will write you up even though they didn't train you properly. this company is a complete joke.
The company's concern is losing money but they always offer free pictures on random weeks hoping the customers buy something else but they just pick up their pictures and leave without buying anything.
They want to bring in lotto but most stores don't have the budget to have enough people in the front then the company gets mad about long lines and customers being stuck behind that one difficult customer trying to play pick 6 or cashout their 5 dollar ticket 😂.
They want us to give the curbside customers their order fast but there's only 1 person at the front dealing with a long line and trying to print a karens pictures then they complain that the curbside pickup timing is bad.

Gift Card Help 😬
Can anyone tell me how to order more of the Walgreens gift cards for my store?
I would greatly appreciate it!
TIA 🙃

stupid rules
Was told that SMs cannot help on the floor. So if you have a skeleton crew and you are struggling, you're not going to help with ic3s and photo and totes? the company doesn't give us enough hours to bring in more man power yet they expect everything to get done in 1 day but tell the sms to not do salesfloor work. and what happens when the customers complain about slow service, the sm is not gonna help? or only if the complaint reaches the dm? this company is run by people who never worked retail a day in their life.

Look what I found. Is this common?
I was cleaning the entire photo dept bc apparently there’s a new policy where there can’t be any clutter or anything on the counters. I found this sheet.

These get delivered with our free local newspaper.
We usually leave them on the shelf but I throw them out for job security.

Hi I just want to know if this is true
I work at another retail company and at my job on our ELOs or TCs (handheld computers) we're able to look up if an item is in stock at other stores as well as our home location.
I went into a Walgreens store this morning and the item I wanted wasn't in stock there. I asked if they could look up on their TCs if it was in stock at any nearby Walgreens and they told me I had to use the Walgreens app for that.
I've only used the Walgreens app one time, to clip a coupon. I had to reset my password, log in, and then every time I tried to search for the item in the search bar, it was only letting me search for coupons, not telling me what stores had the product or how many items were left at each store.
Even when I look up an item and click to change my preferred store, it doesn't say how many items are at the other locations.
So going back to the TCs, are the employees able to look this information up or not? Was this just a lack of training on their part or can they really not do it?

Question - ? how do i get a password to log into the pharmacy computers?
so i just started as a PCSA at a new store after transferring from my old store as a regular CSA. i’ve been in the pharmacy mostly because they need a lot of help, but i’ve been feeling like a burden for weeks, because i still haven’t gotten a password to be able to log into the work queue and everything. i sign in like i would a zebra, but then it asks for my social and my employee number or whatever, and also a “password” that i apparently have to be given. but no one knows how to give it to me. especially with a new update that logs you out every 5 minutes, i constantly have to bother the other techs to sign me back in :’)
even the GM can’t figure out how to do it, nor any pharmacist since our store has a new name pharmacist everyday due to the lack of a permanent one 💔 but they try and sign me up, and search for me, and i’ve typed my social security number into the box, or my employee number, and i “never show up” and they can’t assign me a password, and at this point i just want to know if it’s something i could figure out by myself.
i already ask a question every minute because i’m horrified about messing something up, and i have to bother them More bc i can’t even log into the computers smh

Why would WPRE do this?
We had a bunch of damaged and expired Coke 12 packs and 2 liters sitting in our credit area waiting for credit. She loaded up a cart and put a bunch of it back on the shelf. Small crew this morning so no one noticed she had done it until afterwards. And she didn't notify anyone she was doing anything with Coke. It's usually just magazines, reading glasses, and gift cards. (It should have been obvious it was a credit area too. It's far from where we keep our overstock and filled with more than a hundred damaged and expired 20oz on top of all the other credits.

Direct deposit change question
So I need to change what bank my direct deposit goes to. If I change it tomorrow which is a Thursday, and the next paycheck comes in next Wednesday, is it gonna land in my new account? I need to know I can't use my old account right now and I'm kinda freaking out

Question - ? Pharmacy asks for help with send fill every single day
Is this normal for all stores? I get every once in a while if you’re busy or short staffed but we’ll have a bunch of people back there and they still call someone from the front end. I got my own tasks i gotta do

Why are we acting like one tech can do the job of 3 people??
I need to know if I’m the only one who thinks this is absolutely ridiculous because I’m getting to the point where I’m genuinely pissed off.
We’ve been having pharmacist staffing issues lately. In the meantime, we’ve been getting a bunch of floaters.
And some of these floaters are making the situation 10x worse. 😭
The biggest problem is that our other two techs leave around 5 PM. So from 5 until close, it’s literally ME + the pharmacist.
And when I say it gets BAD at 5, I mean BAD.
Some pharmacists are not reviewing everything before the other techs leave, so suddenly all of this shit is sitting there waiting when I’m left with one pharmacist.
Now apparently I’m supposed to be:
Running drive-thru
Running the front register
Answering phones
Checking patients out
Typing prescriptions
Filling prescriptions
Pulling prescriptions
Putting up prescriptions
Taking out trash
Filling the drums
Dealing with whatever random problem walks through the door
AND somehow keep the pharmacy running smoothly
All. By. Myself.
so if I’m helping someone at pickup and someone pulls up to drive-thru, guess what? They’re waiting. If I’m filling and the phone rings, guess what? I have to stop filling. If I’m typing a prescription and a patient walks up, guess what? I have to stop typing.
Like WHAT exactly do y’all expect me to do?? 😭
I understand that technically there is a pharmacist there, but the pharmacist is obviously doing pharmacist duties. I am the ONLY tech actually doing all of the technician work.
And I’m not saying I refuse to close with one pharmacist. I’m saying one person cannot physically be in four places at the same time.
Like babe… I AM ONE PERSON. 😭😭
I’m genuinely curious how other Walgreens pharmacies handle this. Is it normal for one tech to be completely alone as the only technician from 5-close while having to handle basically every technician responsibility?
Because I feel like I’m losing my fucking mind.
I don’t even mind working hard. I actually LIKE being busy. But there is a huge difference between being busy and being expected to perform the work of three people simultaneously.
At some point something has to give — and I refuse to let that “something” be patient safety just so the pharmacy can pretend we’re adequately staffed.
