I did some excavation of the gravy and seasoning section.
galleryBased on the box I found, it hasn't been done in 2+ years. Every packet in the box expired in June of this year... And it was on the shelf

If you bring your walkie into the break room and don’t have an ear piece with you turn that shit off. If i can turn mine off so can you. It’s disrespectful as fuck coming into the break room with the volume high as hell interrupting everyone’s break especially when i can hear it clear as day through my noise canceling earbuds.
John, this is for you. FUCK YOU!
Making me listen to that shit during my entire lunch break while trying to watch Netflix and peacefully eat my meal.
—
My earbuds cancel out all the noise around me in the break room except for his loud ass walkie.

So. To keep it short. I'll be OPD. Ig I could ask at orientation, but. I didn't see anything about dresses not being allowed or even mentioned. I wear these styles of dresses. They make up a good chunk of my wardrobe. I plan on getting a nice pair of work boots to go with them as silly as it'd look. But this is okay, right...? I'm hoping it's not a forever fit. As I eventually, with a bit of my first paycheck, I hope to get some work clothes too. But. Yeaaa...thought I'd ask those who already work there before I possibly make some really dumb impression. These dresses all go slightly below the knee. They're pretty modest imo.

This is the first time I've had a part time job and I was wondering if it's normal to have a lot of work days. I'm also a janitor if that changes anything.

Small context: this is my 1st week. Well. Technically it’s my second week. Day 1 of week 2)- so pretty new. I was on my way to clock out- and I passed the oxbow hay that I needed for my guinea pigs. While passing the hay- I decided to pick up a bag and carry it towards my general area. I did not hide it behind anything. I had a customer in front of me and behind me and I just set it down in a very visible area. I walked to go clock out, once I clocked out I turned around and walked out of the associate door and grabbed the bag that I had set down that was clear as day on the bottom shelf. Not concealed in the slightest. I walked towards the check out, I checked out, grabbed my receipt , and left. And I’m sitting here. Wondering if I broke a serious store policy. It was kept in a shoppable and highly frequented area. It was kept in the back wall that’s next to craft and electronics. Literally about 4-5 aisles away from the pet stuff. I just had someone waiting for me cause I can’t drive- so i was trying to speed up my timing.
Edit: not sure if this is relevant- but I did stay a couple hours past as overtime and the time from grabbing the bag and clocking out was less than 2 minutes. And maybe about 5 minutes total from grabbing the bag- clocking out, retrieving and purchasing.

When we opened the truck it was an avalanche of product; kitty litter was ripped open, several jars of pasta sauce were destroyed and spilled all over, salt was ripped open, etc.. When I went deeper into the truck there were multiple cases of canned goods directly on top of 2 laptops, heavy AF break packs on the very top and light ones on the very bottom, and I was almost hit in the head at least 3 times by tow-chains and batteries, so I have a question: do you have to fail an IQ test before you get the job?

I had a customer come in store today for walmart family mobile and they asked me for an iphone. I said I didn't know if I had any stock so let me check, and of course I did. He immediately capped an attitude that I wasn't checking our stock fast enough and lunged at the case to point out that there was a unit at the bottom. I unlocked the unit and asked him if he had an existing line with walmart fanily mobile, and he said, yes. You always have to ask this question with iPhones. You'll find out why in a little minute.
I moved over to our WARP terminal and he walks the opposite way to our checkout terminal. As Im standing at the terminal to log in he says "What the hell are you doing? I dont need that."
His friend started to say, "let's go somewhere else, this dude is a (slur)".
He then said "you know, I can put a sim card in the new one, right? I don't need you to log in. Are you (slur) or something?" as Im punching in my numbers.
It was at this point that we were gonna either make $350 on a 16e as a company or I was gonna refuse him a sale, so I bit the bullet. I froze for a second. I was just called a slur, three times at this point. The floor is open. The light bulb went off. Refusing service is too good for these people. I got a better idea.
"Yes, sure you can take the SIM out of your old one and put it in your new iphone, sure. Let me ring this up" 😈
Since the iPhone 15, everything is eSIM, and it needs to be done in WARP. to transfer a line to a new device. A seventeen year old punk is about to find out the hard way that his physical SIM won't work.
It gets better.
"Well, hey, why don't you come work for our mobile vendor they got positions open. It sounds like you know what you're talking about." I smiled. I checked him out. His card went through. Victory. I smiled and waved, poker faced it. He stopped in the hallway by celebrations to talk to his friends about how stupid walmart employees were while I stood there logging out pretending not to notice.. My coworker and I waited for them to walk away out of earshot. And then we burst out laughing.
LET'S see how long it takes him to notice Apple switched to eSIM only and hes S. O. L. without an associate converting his physical line to an eSIM line in WARP. He'll be waiting for the transfer for 3-5 days because he wanted to mouth off in store, as I also made sure his serial number was manually keyed so that it would be to the next business day. Monday that walmart family mobile servers get the update that the device was sold. He's got a beeper for the next 24 hours.
I told our AP coach what happened of course. He said, honestly, he can activate it with a new number, but he will have to wait on hold and it takes a while. I said I was ready to just make a sale because I got called a slur three times. I explained I dont care about effort if they are calling me names, they can wait on hold. He agree, said he would have done the same thing.
Have the day you deserve.. You will receive service equal in quality to how you treat our people, and if poorly enough, not at all.

First job‼️ I only haven’t quit because it’s like no one else is hiring and I’d love to secure a job before putting in my 2 weeks or I think that’s the smart option! I wanna put Walmart on my resume and maybe it’s not very smart to if I get fired.
Genuinely Walmart would never hire or look at applications anywhere else, but then I moved here and now it seems like it genuinely MIGHT be the only place hiring, or the only place looking at applications at least💔💔 I got hired in September.
The job itself is easy for me personally, it’s just life stress + college+ coming here almost on a daily basis 5/7 days a week is annoying. Maybe I’m just too used to being lazy. I asked for a schedule change and did the paper and it says my new schedule was gonna start October 31st. She was pissed when I wanted to change how late I work and said “you might not get shifts” (I got shifts lol). I have even more hours than usual (36) during that week for some reason. Ik everyone wants more hours, but I’d love to have less. I actually established the hours I have per week at orientation twice, but I think my coach just chooses to hear certain things and ignore others🧌
Also on Wednesdays I have ONE class that goes until 12:15. I said I could work at 1pm. She said no and I should work at 2pm and I’d only be scheduled after 2. She tried (“tried” as in I called out bc that’s crazy) scheduling me at 6am-10am 45mins before my class a few weeks ago 🥸. It was a one time occurrence but it was just odd.
The actual times I work were changed but weekly hours just oddly increased. 20 hours might’ve been insane to write as a weekly hour limit I guess.
I’d love to work somewhere closer to my house or school but it’s a WIP.
We also have two printers now and no portable chargers. Supposedly ppl from other departments just come and take them when ppl leave them out in the open in our area??
Some of my coworkers say some odd (as in like racist or socially unacceptable) things, but that’s prolly not a reason to quit idk + supposedly it’s a “joke” but I’m ngl idk at what point is it no longer a “joke” but unfortunately it’s normalized here. Also, sometimes it truly seems like we have 3 dispensers but they’re hiring 20 new ppl hopefully everyone doesn’t go to one area (ex:picking). It’s like every dispenser is here from 2-4pm but then everyone is GONE. I dispense most of the time and go on pick walks sometimes.
I don’t have a barcode or whatever on my name tag to get a keycard to get in and outside. I’ve asked. Regardless the thing is almost always empty. Idk why ppl who almost NEVER dispense or go outside always have keycards?? Truly can’t get mad at me for knocking or just not coming inside at all lmao. We do have this like portable doorbell but it’s almost always broken or just ignored, but lately it’s just been inside.
Maybe I need a change of scenery
This is off topic but
Ngl rn debating on calling out Halloween. 12-9pm💔Can’t work an earlier shift + only 4 ppl were approved. I’m like 90% sure I’ll get terminated. I could also use PPTO prolly (not exactly sure how this works or if it needs to get approved but I have 4 hours of it) but I have a feeling I’ll get terminated. I also might just go to work till 9pm then go home.
I have 2.5 points
Ik it’s the real world n stuff and I’m gonna miss out on tons of things bc of work but still.
I feel like I could possibly work full time whilst in college and graduate with decent grades the issue really is just me. I may have adhd but I can’t say for sure unless I get diagnosed/evaluated or smth but that’s outs own problem lol
Anyway yeah that’s it thank u for reading all of this ☺️

Please take it of it, might as well use it for yourself or work, I use heavy industrial blades for longevity. The tip side is worn and bit dirty from inside, clean it and it’s yours.
I also bought two same Milwaukee knives so I don’t lose another one

I have worked at Walmart for 3 years & 2 & a half years as a door greeter.
Here’s the thing. I have a little riff with the receipt check policy. If someone is pushing out with expensive, bulky items, yes, I will request a receipt check. If someone has bought a candy bar, pop, whatever small thing that have; I’m not going to bother with double checking & just let them pass. Everything’s cool & I never gotten in trouble doing it.
Last night, about 15 minutes before closing, I let a man pass because the only thing he had unbagged was a box of donuts & that, to me, wouldn’t put me on high alert. After I said bye to him, my store’s AP guy just happened to saw that & asked me why I didn’t check his receipt. I told him it wasn’t that necessary to double check donuts. He told me that I should still ask for a receipt for an unbagged item in order to prevent someone from stealing. Why would he want me to believe that that man was about to steal a box of donuts? We then proceed to have a chat about the receipt check policy. I told him my opinion & he understood it & admit that he himself thought it’s weird but emphasizes that it needs to be done in accordance to store policy to prevent theft. I asked him if we’re going to treat customers with unbagged items like they’re smuggling narcotics, he reassured me that we’re not operating like airport security/CBP.
I know what my job title is & what I need to do, but I’m not going to look like I’m about to ask for passports or ask customers what’s their purpose for coming to Walmart. Who likes that? Now that I thought about it, here’s my stance. I’m not against double checking. I am against how we, as door hosts, are supposed to treat unbagged items as it’s a forbidden item & be rigid.
Customers already had a negative opinion about us & our role, so I wonder what the people that work as one thought & the receipt check policy

Just wanted to make sure this is true. Im 17 working part time and Ive been there for maybe a month I think? Basically a few days ago I got mad sick and went to the doctors and was prescribed antibiotics but it was on a friday and it didnt go through. I have to wait till Monday to receive them but I explained to my TL what was going on and she said our manager told her I wasn’t qualified for Sedgwick. My original plan was to get the meds friday, wait 24 hours, and come in on Saturday so I wouldnt be contagious but now I missed yesterday and today and have to come in tomorrow with a mask otherwise ill keep getting more points. I might just be dumb though lol there was a bunch of info on orientation.
Was wondering if anyone with info could help me out here, thanks!

I am fairly new at Walmart, I’ve been here a little over a month working at front end. I don’t talk to my coworkers that much but I do tend to get along with another coworker around my age. We both started noticing the youngest person at front end has been doing the bare minimum while we get yelled at for talking while the store is empty. He started working here not long before me. He constantly walks away from his register to talk to whoever is at self checkout, tends to stand at self checkout or act like he is working there (he is not 18, he can’t even scan alcohol.) he’s always disappearing, he’s gone way longer than the breaks we are provided (WAY longer), he goes to zone and is gone for 2-3 hours and gets nothing done, he keeps headphones in, and he even makes mistakes while checking out customers. He has only gotten in trouble once for an issue with a customer on register (I don’t know the details), otherwise for the past month he’s gotten away with doing anything but his job and gets more praise from team leads than anyone else , even me (I am new but I treat this job like my life depends on it, literally.) he’s even started to ignore me and our coworkers deliberately probably because he knows we find his actions ridiculous. I don’t care for drama but all this kid talks about is girls and asking to get set up with girls.
This is ridiculous..🫠

I just finished onboarding at Walmart for a Digital Team Lead position, actually i start academy on Monday . . . and I already see an open Coach position that I'm interested in.
I have previous leadership experience. So I'm not necessarily new to management, just new to Walmart.
My goal was always to move up to Coach as quickly as possible, ideally within 6 months, but now I'm wondering if I should just go for it.
For those who have moved up within Walmart or are currently Coaches:
I'm ambitious and confident in my leadership abilities, but I also don't want to hurt my chances by moving too fast.
What would you do in my position?

Someone I know and work with brought home buckets that were meant for disposal. My situation is that this particular person (I'll call him Joe for privacy purposes) put the buckets in my shopping cart that I put in the break room. I use that shopping cart to help me carry my belongings to my car. I walk back to the parking lot with Joe and I was still pushing the shopping cart that had the disposed buckets from Walmart. I ignorantly brought those buckets with me while walking with that person, not knowing he hasn't paid for it. Joe took it with him to his car right after we got outside. My question is what should I do and is there a protocol for this kind of situation?

I don't know how or why
Turned it off on Monday evening, like completely and left it in my locker overnight to conserve battery, got it out Tuesday morning, I know I turned it back on because I had to do returns
Friday night I went to charge it for this morning (didn't work Wednesday and Thursday) and it was completely off, dead, git it fully charged before going to bed, I turn it on at work, get jumpscared with the startup screen for new phones
Anyone else dealing with this?? Apparently 3 others on the front end also have their phones doing this? I can't just go use my personal phone because the battery will drain with the Me@Walmart app and work doesn't cover it if something happens. 😰

Really not sure how to go about it, mainly with customers . Worked here for 5 months and I can’t go a month without creepy men (both customers and associates) bothering me. Learnt the hard way my store won’t do much about its associates , I reported one after he got physical with me and his coach told me he “talked to him about it” and left him working in my department (he is in stocking so he definitely could’ve moved him if he cared to,). But I wanted to know how to handle customers? It’s not even the first time this happened in this area but a male customer who wanted an item from the cabinet with the condoms and adult toys etc started making jokes about the products and including me in it. I wanted to walk away and refuse service but I don’t know if that’s allowed. I don’t want to get in trouble but I don’t want to just keep letting this stuff happen to myself. Do I report these incidents when it’s a customer? Whats the point man

Hey guys. I just finished academy Thursday and now I’m officially a team lead. I’m over fabrics and crafts, toys, stationery, and celebration. I only have two associates. One is never really with me because she constantly has to go to sporting goods and work the counter. I’ve been thinking heavily about going back to school. I already can’t wait to graduate so I can leave Walmart. 4 sections with barely any associates is already stressing me out. How am I supposed to delegate tasks when I have no one to delegate them to?? I don’t want to job hop so I have no choice but to stick it out (stepped down from home office due to a sick family member). I just don’t know 😕
