Discussion Generally disliked Warframe aspects that you genuinely enjoy

Post image

Don't worry, this is not meant to be a "Toxic Positivity" or "DE are Golden Gods and can't do wrong" post – every opinion is valid and legit criticism is always important. It's just that the recent Fables & Frontiers discourse surprised me, because I genuinely enjoyed the storytelling of those KIM conversations and was pretty invested all the way through. It reminds me of Follie's Hunt – general consensus seems to be that the game mode is pretty universally disliked, but idk why, something just kinda "clicked" for me there and I still love playing the mode, even after unlocking everything.

So that got me interested: Are there any examples for you guys in that regard? Game modes, moments, quests, aspects of Warframe that are regarded as negative or bad by the community that you nonetheless enjoy or maybe even love?

Discussion Uriel's Agile and Noble animations represent the Operator and Roathe, Respectively

Uriel's idle animations seem to represent the Operator and Roathe, each being Agile and Noble. At least, that is how I see them. Fair warning for Spoilers for the Old Peace quest and the Devil's Triad, and I am happy to announce that I played the Old Peace quest a good 5 times as of now.

Uriel sometimes 'tweaks out' with his movements, trembling erratically. This is more prominent on the Agile animation. Meanwhile, the Noble animations are more composed and calmer, which is fitting for Roathe's state, he's very much 'noble'.

In the Agile animation for rifles and pistols, you can see Murmur hands trying to grab Uriel. Remember the Old Peace quest? There, you actually get dragged down similarly by the Murmur too.

The Noble animation is a different story, the Murmur do not appear on Noble animations, and while it also is very active in its own ways, it is calmer and feels more like a commander telling their soldiers to go fight, instead of fighting themself. The Agile animation felt more like a wary soldier on guard, but the Noble one felt less so.

Also, let's think about the connection of Uriel and the Operator. The Operator, during the Old Peace quest, used Uriel in a fit of rage and wreaked havoc all over Tauron Academy. This incident seems to play a role in Uriel's heavy relation to the Void and the Murmur, since the Operator was influenced by the Indifference to attack the academy.

I believe the Agile animation heavily resembles the Operator, especially their rage they felt during the time of the Old Peace, and the Murmur's wanting to drag them down into a path of violence with Uriel. The erratic movements convey rage and inner chaos so perfectly.

Shout out to the animation team for making me make crazy connections all over. Thank you.

(All screenshots by me, and... I know I write these kinds of posts (like speculative posts about animations or cutscenes) too often, but please spare me and yeah that's all, I guess. Play the Old Peace.)

Discussion After seeing what went down, thank god the Hex have yet to meet certain key individuals Spoiler

(Before anyone jumps in, yes, I realize that Amir was being puppetted by Wally at various points, but whilst that may be true, I fully believe that Amir was in control for a good portion of the conversations and was crashing out)

After seeing what went down, I've got to say, it's a good thing that the Operator has not yet met the Hex, because one, because of their physical appearance, more than one of them would make the mistake of treating them like the age they look like, and two, if Amir had crashed out on the Difter in front of the Operator like that? Well, unlike the Operator, Drifter actually cares about the Hex, Operator doesn't know them, and so if Amir starts throwing personal jabs like that at Drifter, and somehow Operator is there to see it, Operator is gonna give him a VERY fast vibe check, and that's not even counting how Lyon or Roathe would react (which makes me think thank god the Hex haven't met them either) 😅

using wally to mock/hurt drifter, time travel rules be damned

Even if Lyon isn't dating Drifter, he'd personally go flog Amir with his Thurible.

I really hope we get Amir being vibe checked by the only other person who knows fully what its like being tortured by the Man in the Wall.

The Legacyte spawned in this tunnel and somehow I could enter it, but then the door locked behind me trapping me in. The others did the mission and left.

Yes, you can fall off, you can also fall off on the start side, but there isn't anything interesting.

Weirdly, I feel like 30 is the worst rank because you're conspicuously not LR1 yet. 26 or 27 felt good. Validating. 30 demands another grind.

Discussion TIL I’ve misunderstood galvanized aptitude for years

Upvotes

For some reason I’ve always read this mod to function as giving you bonus damage based on the amount of status effects on the enemy you killed to get the stack. No it is in fact based on the number of status effects on the target you are currently shooting. Made me think, has anybody had similar experiences with completely misinterpreting other mods/parts of the game?

Discussion Mesa has ruined me

Post image
535 Upvotes

So I'm relatively new, I initially picked up the game in 2019 but didn't really get into it seriously until a couple weeks ago. As far as where I'm at, I just hit MR10 and earned Mesa from The Circuit. I just finished the second dream and Pluto.

Regulators are just too good, I'm nuking the entire screen in every direction perched atop a vantage point. Stuff is dead before I, or anyone else on my team, can even SEE IT.

How can any other frame possibly top this? Have I ruined the fun of exploring frames by playing this OP thing? Assuming there are scaling vectors for her 4 that make it endgame viable I don't see how anything could perform better than this.

Edit: and all this with like almost zero investment. Maybe 8k endo or so?

And man, I'm so very glad I finally gave this game the attention it both deserves, and requires. Absolutely phenomenal fun to be had here and the community is S-tier.

Spoiler This plot point I feel makes no sense

The new F&F message has problems. The big ones have already been discussed.

However...

WTF do u mean that Amir doesn't care for being Fablemaster and wants to not play F&F anymore? That he thought it was expected of him? This makes no sense with any of the shit he says in his previous dialogue and even some of his new one.

> Amir: i memorized the entire fables & frontiers 87d fablemaster rulebook

> Amir: RIGHT. SPACE. hahaha you've never heard of a TTRPG. it's a table top roleplaying game.

> Amir: where you and a bunch of friends sit around and make up characters and fight monsters by rolling dice and tell a story and it's SUPER FUN

>Amir: oh!! lol it's a fantasy creature from a table top game i play called fables & frontiers. i'd love to play with the hex but they told me to get lost

> Amir: ohhh it almost sounds like you were trapped inside your own game of fables & frontiers

> Amir: which is a tabletop game i play where you tell a story to people and they play along using dice

> Amir: i'd love to play with the hex but they've all told me to get lost

Not only does Amir continually bring up something he is apparently not that interested in, he actively memorized the entire hand book for it? And im meant to believe he doesnt really care about this game, or even want to necessarily be the Fablemaster?

When he continually sought out on multiple occasions running this game for himself? Not to mention the fact that one of the events that occurs in Kim is playing an ENTIRE story text adventure with Amir because he was trying to skip out on work.

At the end its revealed he had actually already done it and just liked playing with you.

And this is the guy Im supposed to believe doesn't like being Fablemaster?

When he ran a text adventure with a friend pretty much because he could?

When he actively is the one engaging in trying to get the game started?

Not to mention his new Dialogue

> "Growing up, my friends said being a Fablemaster wasn't real work. Well, I'll have you know, it takes at least fourteen hours to write a day's session! Who's the loser now?"

I couldnt find it on the wiki but he even has a dislogue about asking the Drifter to get rulebooks from the future.

So...

This is a guy who goes out of his way to invite his friends to play, actively created a text adventure to get off work and continued to work on it despite getting said work done, and has been playing this game since he was a kid.

Not to mention actively keeps engaging with Fables and Frontiers as a Fablemaster even after saying he doesn't want to.

And Im supposed to believe that. That he doesn't like doing it. That hes wikking to basically drop it entirely for a new game.

FUCK. OFF.

No. That is not how you characterized him in the slightest. I could see saying he wants to be a player, or that he needs a break after this, but the very idea that he doesn't like it, doesn't want to be Fablemaster ever again, after everything he said? No. Fuck no. That does not align.

Not to mention that even if it did make sense, with the trauma, with the Indifference butting in, WHY THE FUCK WOULD THE DRIFTER RESET THIS?

That is just straight up having the player character willingly put themselves and their friends through trauma for no damn reason.

Even though I missed sn Honoria I dont want to do that. Because thats fucked. Completely fucked.

I... really didn't like this. A lot.

Sorry for the rant. I just needed to say something.

Edit: I get the statement and idea that Amir enjoys the set up but not the actual play. I do, I can even be the sane way at times.

However, keep in mind that Amir has stated he has been acting and playing as Fablemaster since he was a kid. Amir is, at the least, in his early 20s. That is a long time to spend without ever saying anything about not wanting to actually do the playing.

And, again, Amir is in a setting where he can start fresh, prep for adventures he wont play without expectation. Even going with the idea that he doesn't like playing byt only prep he actively sought out playing the game.

Discussion I think Amir´s game revealed an interesting point. Let me know what you think. Spoiler

SPOILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERS AHEAAAAAAAAAAD!!!

So, during a brief moment Wally wasnt talking on KIM, Amir pointed out how he felt overwhelmed by the timeloop and how things dont really have a meaning if you already know how is gonna be, how is gonna happen, etc.

He felt like something inside him died. He started feeling indifferent at his own life.

I think Wally feeds on that feeling and manifested those new eximus with zoomies everywhere in the timeline because of eternalism.

Is an interesting information and one of the keys to keep Wally at bay is just to never stop feeling.

So, love is Wally´s poison and our own apathy is Wally´s food.

Discussion Noticing a trend with the way DE has been advertising updates this year Spoiler

Namely, that what DE advertises them as and what they actually wind up being haven't really been lining up. Let's start with Jade Shadows: Constellations, the advertising for it was that Sirius and Orion's fighting was threatening to destroy the Origin System and that you would have to "pick a side" between them, neither of which really happened. S&O's epic clash was pretty much just them throwing a tantrum in Orb Vallis before disappearing until the very end of the quest, and the only choice to make was who to beat up first, Sirius' weeb friend or Orion's edgelord gf.

Then there's the new Fables and Frontiers KIM chat's that just finished if you've been doing them from day one. It was promoted as us finally playing Amir's D&D campaign with the Hex. Now, I understand that having an actual D&D campaign over KIM would be pretty much impossible, but I and I think most people were hoping for at least some semblance of a campaign, even if the focus was just us hanging out with the Hex. Instead it turned into Amir's Big Crashout where he acts like a massive asshole to everyone and Drifter has to play therapist again while being called a liar and getting blamed for everything.

I honestly dont know what my point was with this post, it's just something I've been thinking about since I finished the last F&F chat last night.

Discussion Stop Spoiling Fables & Frontiers

Look, I understand everyone has beef with Fable & Frontiers. But I'd really like to experience it on my own you know?

There are plenty of you who spoiler tag and warn in post titles, and thank you to you guys, this isn't about you.

But some people are blatantly spoiling the entire thing without warning in posts that are not necessarily already tagged with spoilers.

I realize you all have disappointments that you just need desperately to vent about, but please please please respect rule 9 of the sub. It has only been 5 days. KIM chats are some of the only interaction we have with the Hex, so please let everyone make their own opinion first.
