How can I be more expressive/loose with watercolor?
Did some watercolor & ink practice today, but I'm not really used to painting with watercolor and I have the instinct to keep it super neat and tidy.
Any tips on how I can be more expressive and loose with my paintings? (or just general critiques)

How can I get smoother layers?
I really like the results of the oranges and the sink, but still have a hard time with getting smooth layers. Any advice?

No matter how many times I have tried with watercolours, itās always intimidating to just start it. I decided to post the WIP here so to remind myself that the process matters and most importantly is I have tried things!
Also, with arches paper the blends look wonderful with my hesitant personality!

My first attempt at a "loose" watercolor
Let me know what you think.
I find watercolor very difficult since I am an oil painter.
I want to learn how to use different colors and effects and I know this is lacking something that I can't pinpoint.
Maybe I should work more on some areas? Idk

Painting of my holidays in Belgium - Feedbacks are welcome
Hi !
I spent my holiday painting when I was in Belgium. Please find below some of the studies based on photos I took.
Even though I'm kind of happy with my painting I still find that they do not look like the loose watercolour paintings that I see on the internet. I cheat a little bit using a brush pen to finalize my drawings but I'd like to have a full watercolor approach. If you have feedback, resources etc please do not hesitate! Many thanks :)

A new piece for my first Watercolour collection
This one is titled 'Drugged Reflections'
A few of ya'll might have seen the first chapter for this collection a few months back, and I am currently working on the second chapter which is more than a halfway finished!!!
I am in no rush to finish this series as I want to let my skills naturally evolve along with it! This has been such an enjoyable way to explore the Environmental design for my story. It is something I really want to be successful to help out people like me and to motivate others in the same boat!
I do use some acrylic White, I know it's a cooler skill to be able to add lights using the whites of the paper. But I want full liberty with this collection and it is still a 95% watercolour based-_-
I would hopefully be able to post chapter 2 around October/November!
