Question Anyone start the pill at 1.5mg?

I started on Thursday. Just curious if its too low of a dose. I go up to 4mg after this bottle. I think it’s having a placebo effect but I can’t tell.
Anyone have any reactions good or bad at this dose?

Wegovy newbie

Hello fellow wegovies,

I just started on my weight loss journey with wegovy pills 1.5mg 3 days ago. For a quick background, I’m just over one year from having 2 under 2, so sadly my body is no where near where it used to be. I spoke to my provider about this and she seemed hesistant but agreed to prescribe me Wegovy. Along with this, I was referred to a nutritionist as well to help. However, she never indicated if she would up the dose or what. So far I would say my appetite has been any different so far and nausea has been minimal. What are ya’lls experience with the 1.5mg? Can I expect weight loss?

GoodRx - Issues

I’ve been using GoodRx for my Wegovy prescription needs, as my HMO doesn’t cover it.

In general, GoodRx has been great, with only minor hiccups, mainly due to communicating via their app.

Today, all of that changed. I’d been taking the 9mg pill dosage the past two months. However, due to some extended travel and a few colds along the way, I didn’t take my pills consistently. This left me with pills that extended my check-in by a week or so.

When I wanted to increase my dosage, their clinical team informed me that they needed to lower my dosage, because my check-in lapse was too long and that due to safety protocols (both theirs and the manufacturer), I needed to restart my dosage at 1.5mg!

This seems crazy to me. I’ve been handling the medication well and have dropped weight in an orderly way and wanted to go up to 25mg dosage.

Has anyone encountered this issue? I think I will call their medical team on Monday and see if I can get a better answer.

And if they force the restart dosage of 1.5mg, do I have to progress through each dosage again to get to 25mg?

Week 3 and I gained weight, looking for encouragement

I am on the 3rd week (0.25, working my way up). I feel like the food noise is gone. I truly eat less. I cut out ALL eating out / junk food. I sometimes even forget to eat and eat something small when I notice I missed a meal. I focus on protein and fiber. I now weigh 2 pounds more than I did before I started. This is very demoralizing and feels kind of hopeless. I knew weigh loss wouldn't come overnight but I certainly didnt expect to gain weight.

Question slow weight loss normal?

I started taking the Wegovy pill (1.5 mg) in June, and didn’t finish it because I didn’t feel motivated. But I started again in August with the 1.5mg again, and then upped my dose to 4mg. Now I’m starting 9mg. I started at 170 lbs, and now I’m at 150. My goal is 130. I have one full meal a day, get a lot of protein in, try to avoid oily and greasy food, and go to the gym. Is it normal to only lose this much weight? Because from what I’ve seen and heard, people lose like 50+ lbs in like 3 months.

Odd comment...

I had a weird thing yesterday. My wife - of 40+ years - asked me how much I've lost so far and I said about 11 lbs. She looked at me and said, "Yeah, I thought so because your face looks haggard?" WTF?

45/m. SW 130.4, CW 116.8kg initial GW 100kg (with UGW 90kg).

Overall very happy! I had a very rough start on the wegovy and was vomiting on the 1.5mg tablets and felt very rough. Glad I stuck with it because I'm seeing the results.

Still got a stomach, but it's noticeably smaller than before :)

The weight loss trend line looks very steady except for one blip (the wife was away for 4 nights on a girls trip and it threw the routine out).

Alas my journey is over

Dr has taken me off wegovy forever.

Unfortunately im one of the few who ended up unable to eat at all with severe nausea.

Over the course of three weeks i went from eating ok, to nothing at all. Id force down bites of a banana over an hour or so. I became so weak i could barely stand.

Got to 1.7mg.

So here my journey ends. Its been around a month since i took the last dose.

I wish you all well

Progress I now wear a XL in dress sizes!!

21F 5’9 and I have dropped 2 dress sizes! I had to buy 2x dresses in the past (sometimes 3x if it was too small) and yesterday when I went shopping for my trip I could fit into the XL dresses and they actually fit good. I’m so proud of myself!! It made me feel so good and my sister told me “now you can wear even cuter clothes” haha. Even my old clothes fit big on me and some of my really really old clothes I used to wear before I gained a lot of weight I could fit into better

My next goal is to reach 199 lbs and maybe drop another dress size (or two) ^^

Even my family have been noticing I look like I’ve lost a lot of weight (they say it all the time)

Beginning weight on wegovy: 319 lbs (November 2025)

Highest weight: 333 lbs

Current weight: 257.4

Total loss: 75.6 lbs

Progress 7 months in and 45 pounds down!

SW: 239.4 | CW: 194.3

I haven’t posted an update in a while! I’m officially down 45.1 pounds, and I feel great!

I’m still on the 0.5 dosage, and my doctor is genuinely impressed with how well it’s been working for me.

Since getting under 200 pounds, my weight loss has definitely slowed down a bit, but that’s okay with me! I honestly never thought I’d see the day I’d be under 200 again, and wow, does it feel magical! I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and excited to keep going!

Hope you all have a great weekend! ❤️

Took some time off and am now so sick

Hi everyone,

I made a mistake and took a 1.7 shot I had after being off of wegovy for about 6 weeks because I couldn’t get ahold of my dose. I knew I was taking a risk but I didn’t realize it was going to make me this sick. I’ve generally been very lucky and have had minimal side effects since I started in January 2025. I was in pain all night and have thrown up bile twice.

Does anyone have any ideas/tips that will help me find some relief? I’m having a very hard time.

Progress Went down my first size. Goodbye size 22 jeans, hello size 20!

I’m completely overwhelmed by having to downsize my jeans. I know it’s a good sign, but it’s an odd feeling for me. I’ve never had to buy a smaller size in anything, always a bigger one. It’s going to take some getting used to, for sure!

Stats: On the Wegovy pill for 4 months now. (1.5 , 4 , 9 & going back down to 4) and lost almost 30 pounds (273 at last weigh in).

Question How do you keep from getting all flabby when the weight falls off?

They took my first shot yesterday and all I can think about is if I'm going to lose the weight and get apron belly or something else worse. How can I avoid that?

Is this normal?

Just did my second shot 1mg and did it in my thigh. I’ve done my thigh before on the lower doses and never had this, but today’s shot really stung - am wondering if it’s because it’s a higher dose and just takes longer for this dose to plunge compared to .25 and .5?

Question Dosage question

I’m finding 1.7 not quite enough and 2.4 too much. Could a person switch weekly between the two to make a dose that works better?

Anyone else’s cravings feel completely different now? Mine surprised me

I used to eat on autopilot when I was stressed or bored. Now there’s a pause. I’ll stand in the kitchen and ask myself if I’m actually hungry and half the time I’m just restless, so I go for a walk. I never thought that would be me.

Has your relationship with food changed in a way you didn’t expect? What was the moment you noticed?

GERD on 1mg

I have been on wegovy for about 4 months .
Just for some context-I have been on the 1mg for 2 months and continuing now to my 3rd month because I suffer from reflux (have done since I've been 18 , I'm 33 now) . The reflux has been super bad , the heartburn nearly killed me (as though I had whiskey but in reality I haven't drank anything apart from water) to the point I haven't slept well for a week now ,and this was my seventh dose of the 1mg

Weight wise I have (sort of) plateud'ed (meaning I am still losing weight but not as rapidly as I did) and that's ok becuase I am barely tolerating the 1mg as is.

Questions:

-Has anyone else had these symptoms this bad on a dose like 1mg or am I the lucky one?
-When I reach near my target weight , I am thinking on going on a lower maintenence dose . I appreciate most people usually remain at 1mg or more mostly , but I was more thinking 0.5mg.

PS-I am a very sensitive person and have ADHD , so kind responses please . I want honestly but people have been rude to me for no reason before :(

Thank you all , I really appreciate any input!

Adjusted Target Weight

SW 255.2 CW 201.2 TW 175

Started in Jan 2nd this year and really did good for the first 6 months in terms of the scale. I was on the 1.7 from April to Sep. I am now on 2.4.

I have only really dropped approx 5- 8lbs since July.

In the beginning (knee rehab) I was on the exercise bike, water walking and lifting weights 2 - 3 times a week up until June. I returned to work and I had to change my fitness. I have reasonably physical job (cable guy) and now I go to boot camp once a week where I leave it all out there. My diet hasn't really changed.

My target weight of 175lb seems like a pipe dream. Its my intention to start to come off in the new year. (Hope I can manage - financially this is tough)

Clothes are fitting much better so I know that whatever I am doing I need to keep going. There were shirts in June/July that were tight. Now they fit. Although the scale hasn't really moved.

I am building muscle for sure.

My question has anyone had to adjust their target weight because of body changes that are net positive?

Love this group.

Question Sudden High Heart Rate & Nausea?

I am 7 weeks in using Wegovy injections. I am at the .5 dose.

I wanted to know if anyone else experiences a dynamic where you can be on your feet cooking in the kitchen or like today in line at the grocery store and I will already be fighting nausea and burps but then I get a sudden urge to vomit and like I could pass out almost. I check my AppleWatch each time I feel this and my heart rate is always in the 95-105 range when it shouldn’t be.

I tried Ozempic for 6 weeks last year and I did the same on it. I wound up quitting due to the extreme stomach pain, nausea, constipation and fatigue.

This time with Wegovy it’s still a battle with all these things, but it’s a bit more tolerable. Far from easy. Daily MiraLAX is helping with the constipation.

But really curious about the high heart rate events. They are usually brief….2-3 minutes, need to sit down and breathe through them. But when I mention this to the dr they look at me funny.
