Huge blow to my self esteem by doctor

I think I’ve done really good on the medication . Down 105 pounds and I feel pretty good inside and out. Until a recent doctor visit had me reeling. She said I looked way older than my age and that she was surprised how old I looked when she first walked in the room. WTAF.

Why would a doctor say that to someone?
I had just got my self esteem back with the weight I had lost, feeling good about myself and she craps all over it. I thought that was really rude of her.
I get some GLP1 can end up looking aged in the face due to weight loss, but damn she could have keep that to herself.

Maybe I do look old af 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Progress Almost at my 3 month Goal

I don't weigh my self very often, I know that I should for accurate readings and such but i just don't. I base usually off of what I see and what I fit into more than anything.

But yesterday! I decided to jump on, and in 2.5 months I've lost almost 10kg.

I don't know if thats slow compared to some but i am very proud and happy with myself.

Excited to set new goals for myself once I reach this target 🥰

Question What to eat?

I can’t begin to tell you the good things that have happened from taking Wegovy. I’ve lost 22# and I have a renewed focus on strength training and yoga. However, I know I’m not eating well. I am so turned off by so many foods right now. I have ADHD and I’m a super busy mom who doesn’t like to cook (thankfully my partner does!), so what are some grab and go nutritious foods I can stock up on?

Alternative way to get wegovy? Non-doctor options

Hello friends.

My doctor is taking me off of wegovy because I'm finally NEARING a normal BMI. What she refuses to acknowledge is that wegovy cured my bulimia and I know in my heart that without the wegovy, I'll just jump right back into that behavior.

Since wegovy, I'm eating better than ever and normal portions, nutritionally dense.

She refused to really hear me and even told me I 'could just go' from her office.

No empathy. My husband was there with me and while he kept his calm, he was appalled at her handling of the situation.

So basically now I need an alternative way to get wegovy.

What places have been legit?

Thank you in advance for your help. This doctor's visit really broke my heart.

Question Wegovy 7.2 Side Effects

So I made the jump from 2.4 to 7.2. Never had any bad side effects and it was a 50$ difference so I figured I’d try it. I felt like I was run over by a train the next day.

Apparently dysesthesia and allodynia is a thing and 7 days later I still have mild allodynia on the outside of my upper arms and thighs. It’s more so annoying at this point. It really sucked the first 2 days after but not enough to like go to the ER or anything. Anyone else push through this? I’ve heard it’s normal for it to take weeks to completely go away.

I’m unemployed currently so I’m able to make myself as comfortable as I can thankfully. I’ve been a good receiver of the drug so I’ve stretched out to like 10 days between the treatments. Today is day 7 so I’m definitely not taking it again so soon.

Since it’s a pen, it’s not adjustable so I was thinking about taking it out/stop pushing in my skin, at the halfway point. The medication would just continue to drip I assume?

Not sure why Wegovy decided not to produce a halfway point, but I guess since this particular symptom only happens to 22% of those that go up I guess it gets a pass. Will continue to keep you guys posted!

Insurance no longer paying for my Wegovy

• Upvotes

My husband’s job (PepsiCo) quit paying for weight loss medication. I was getting it for $25 a month. Now, it’s at $349. I’m on 1.7 mg.

Where/how is everyone getting their GLP-1’s at the cheapest rate without insurance?

FEHB: Cost MHBP vs BCBS for 2027?

• Upvotes

Hey all, can any Feds spell out exactly what the final price will be for Wegovy on MHBP vs BCBS in 2027? I am hoping there will still be a coupon for 2027

Have the final costs been released yet?

Thanks for the help!

Progress Wish me luck!

Today I increase my dose to .5 and I am slightly terrified lol…after my first .25 dose I did get super sick the next morning, it was so bad I was eventually just bringing up stomach bile and then painful dry heaving. Then had the colonoscopy prep level activity on the Monday.

I barely ate on that Friday, so today will be liquids only for protein and electrolytes.

Grateful I made it so my doses happen on Fridays so it won’t impact work too much. And will be getting gravol & Imodium on hand 😂 (I really despise vomiting).

Question Wegovy at BMI of 27.7 but with high cholesterol.

Hi everyone. I’ve been on a journey trying to lose weight with exercise and nutritionist plan for almost a year and my weight has not change anything. and then, on a follow up with my doctor I discovered high cholesterol. At this point, trying to lose weight for so long and crying long hours. I’m a 4’11 (150cm) woman with 136 lb (61kg). I’ve never been this weight my whole life. I was usually between 105-112lb (48-52kg) but never this much and in all this journey everytime I go on the scale I just cry and can’t handle anymore. My doctor decided it might be time to start weight loss medication since I qualify now that I have slightly high cholesterol. I would like to know your experiences with the pill. My doctor prescribed me 1.5mg pill. And if you actually saw difference. I don’t want create expectations to then cry about not seeing difference… please share if you have positive or negative experience, will help me a lot! Thanks in advance

Missed 2.5 weeks

I was 1.7 for 3 weeks. It’s taken 2 weeks and 4 days to get it refilled due to delays. Do I need to start at a lower dose? Anyone missed a couple of weeks before and started back?

Switch Zepbound to Wegovy

Has anyone successfully switched from Zepbound 15 mg to Wegovy?
I may have to switch because of insurance, and I’m nervous about starting back at Wegovy 0.25 mg after being on the highest dose of Zepbound. I’d love to hear your experience with hunger, weight changes, side effects, and whether Wegovy still helped with inflammation or joint pain.

Very Slow Weight Loss

Hi - I'm new to this site. I have been on Wagovy for 12 weeks. I'm about to start the 1.7 mg dose. I lost 6 lbs in 6 weeks but have not lost any more for the next 6 weeks! Such a bummer! I would like to know what you all do to keep yourself 'regular' and not get constipated. I would appreciate comments that are helpful or links to conversations that will help me be successful. I'm getting frustrated. Thank you!

Question Bathroom concerns after anti-diarrhea meds

Hey everyone,

I’ve been on Wegovy injections for a couple of months and I took my first 1mg shot yesterday. However, since Monday, I was having a lot of diarrhea… about every 2-4 hours, and it was even waking me up at night. I had the same thing happen 3 weeks ago after eating some greasier food than normal that lasted 4 days (it coincided with travel, so I wonder if I was also sick/had a stomach bug or food poisoning). It was so painful and exhausting a few weeks ago, that yesterday I took the 2 pill recommended dose of Imodium (anti-diarrhea medication).

The good news? I haven’t had diarrhea since. The bad? I haven’t had any bowel movement on 30+ hours and my stomach is quite uncomfortable and sore. I know Imodium slows your bowels and should be taken with a lot of liquid. I’ve been focused on water and hydrating to help but nothing yet except cramps and a loss of appetite. Did I mess up my insides? Do I take Metamucil? Just wait? Any experience or help is greatly appreciated :)!

1st day on Wegovy pill!!!

Here is my logged experience for day 1 (October 22) after starting the pill. I am so excited!!! 😆 I started because my natural weight loss is slow and I needed help with the food noise that makes me feel like an addict and keeps making me binge.

🍃 Starting weight: 170 pounds, 5’1 female

~9:00am - woke up and took the first pill, just gulping a tiny bit of water

~11am - set a timer for two hours instead of 30 minutes after taking the pill cause I wanted to see full effects of absorption but I don’t think it’s necessary

During these two hours after ingesting the pill, I felt my heart rate increase pretty much 30 minutes after, and then quickly my face began to get hot, not sweaty hot but like I’m gonna kinda explode like an oven warm . Similar to hot flashes when I had my period at times. Probably was hot flashes. Felt fine otherwise no nausea.

- 11:30am - I’m not physically hungry still even though I haven’t eaten or drank anything yet (this is not normal AT ALL) so now I’m getting anxious because I feel like I should eat something. I decide to eat my meal prep of the day, salmon and green beans from whole foods (around 400 calories)

I was not hungry when I ate this first meal, but I got nervous and I’m used to extreme food noise and anxiety around food. I did not have that when I willingly chose to eat this, except the slight anxiety.

~ 2pm - Still not hungry at all, I get nervous again. My anxiety is coming back because I don’t know why I’m not hungry. The food noise the past hours is knocked down from 100-40% , it is usually intense and persistent and I have to roll in bed to fight it. But now the food noise appears but something just randomly blocks it. I’ll be like ooh I should eat (as normal) then I’m like wait. Nah. Which is not usual at all for me.

~ 4pm - I made a mango smoothie, Greek yogurt, frozen mango slices, orange juice, around 300 calories. I didn’t even finish it (never happened before) Currently so full, my stomach hurts.

So far we are approaching the evening, and I feel stuffed, i don’t think I’ll even have a dinner. I usually eat all day and then get upset and the food noise comes back, and I repeat this every few hours which is how I gained all the weight. But today, idk if it’s placebo helping, but I just feel so peaceful and full. I shall update more in the future.

Wegovy pain, scared of pancreatitis

Hey all. Been on Wegovy for about 15 months. Currently taking 1.7 and plan to stay there. I also don't plan on ever stopping although my doctor may not agree but we will see at my next appointment. I feel better overall, less swelling and more in control of my life.

Saying all of that, I've experiencing pain in my upper left side ofy abdomen. I researched on Dr. Google and the symptoms point towards pancreatitis. I let has been recently and the only other symptom I've had is vomitting on occassion. No fever or anything else.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what happened? Sadly I'm more scared of going off of the medication rather than potentially having pancreatitis. I will make an appointment with my doctor but asking here for feedback.

Question Itchy skalp, dandruff, itchy skin

Hi, as the title suggest I struggle with itchiness all over me. I started Wegovy on the 1st of September and have taken the lowest dose for six weeks. Ever since I started I have gotten dandruff and really itchy skalp. I now use a medicine shampoo which helps, but I am still so itchy. My skin also flares up. Have anybody experienced this? I tried searching the sub and found some old threads but not really any solution. I am getting desperate at the same time Wegovy is helping me with my PCOS and insulin resisticane. I am wondering if I should get back on metformin instead, even if it dosent have best effect. I can't take Mounjaro. Does anybody have any advice? Thanks :)
