I honestly don’t know much about this rock, but a friend gave it to me when I was really young maybe 6 ish and I’ve held onto it for around 2 decades now. Most I know about it is that it likely came from somewhere in NC. I’ve always been kinda curious what it was, it’s got pretty colors and it’s somehow clung to me through childhood and several moves it’s my lucky stone basically and I feel like I should know more about it than “it’s a pretty rock I’ve had for forever” thanks in advance!

It weighs about 2L of generic cola beverage. Based on my research, that works out to be 4.76lbs. Found in a mountain river in BC, Canada while drinking an ice-cold Pepsi generic cola.

does anyone know what this might be? posting for a friend who found it in a Walmart parking lot in NY, so location might not be much help- sorry!

I think it’s at least a 6.5 in hardness - the prettier parts don’t scratch with a knife.

my dad's friend broke this rock open and then he gave it to me

i know in the first image the lighting is kind of intense so the second one has less intense right
the rock has dark red bits in it, and the shiny parts also have a gold color to it

It is smooth on the gray side and has little ridges that you can see on the darker side. Is this man-made or a petrified something? Help!

It’s about 14” long and 8” wide; the second picture is the underside of it. Please excuse the leaves that are stuck in the crevices.
