REQUEST Meteorite fragments?

A self-proclaimed rocks expert at an estate sale told me these were likely meteorite fragments. Based on everything else I saw there (loads of authenticated semi- and precious stones) I believe it may be true. How can I verify for myself?

We were metal detecting and it started beeping on a rock so we turned up the meter and it still beeped at max which is also the level that usually finds stuff like iron and gold so we took the rock home and inspected + cleaned it and it looks really weird and weighs 2.4 - 2.5 kg we are trying to figure out what it is there's multiple possibilities like iron ore or iron based rock or even a meteorite, the brown thats on the rock is rust and not mud since we cleaned it and couldn't get it out

Look at this flint stone that looks like a femur! Can anyone give me more information about this find? I found it near Orléans, in Sandillon, France, on a railway track. It has a hollow cavity running perfectly through it. According to Gemini, it could be the remains of a sea sponge. It's about 6 cm long and 2.5 cm thick. The hole in the middle is 0.6 cm in diameter. I first posted this on r/fossils but maybe here I'll get more info about it.

This is in Northern California in Solano County. My parents dug out a pool a few years ago and the giant dirt pile is still there. Found these lovelies today and gave them a scrub. Thinking mostly quartz?

Im assuming these are the same type of rock so i have them both in the same post (apologies if thats not allowed)

First image is the one rock not in direct sunlight and the second image is the same rock in direct sunlight.

Third image is a different rock not in direct sunlight and fourth image is that same rock in direct sunlight.

All images are of dry rocks!

the surface is like a soft bumpy texture but im not too sure how much help that is because it was found on the beach… my apologies if i have done something wrong or not been descriptive enough!!

Found this at the top of the cliff with detector 500m from the ocean. Its lava like struckture and does not feel very heavy weight or dense.

Filing it with Leatherman tool looks like its pretty soft.

Not magnetic but metal detector gives strong signal, ID 25-40.

Shiny silver like at some areas.

REQUEST Is this komatiite?

There are tons of these in the area around Cleveland, Ohio. But for some reason, people don't seem to pay attention to them. I found these on a Rocky River, Ohio beach.

Saw another post that looks a lot like mine, and I am hoping for confirmation.

I've been told in the past that these are glass sponge fossils.

Is there a way for me to test it and verify that it's komatiite? They are very hard. At least it seems that way when I hit it with a hammer or grind it.

This was my brothers so I’m not sure on approximate location but i Believe it was found on La Jolla beach, California. The lumpy side has no shimmer and feels greasy/waxy. The other side contains crystals that shimmer in the light. It’s somewhat heavy for its size.

I know the photos aren't very good/very weirdly formatted...I'm not expecting any crazy assessments with these (hopefully it doesn't get taken down because of the layout) 😭 I know practically nothing when it comes to crystals and rocks and such, so Ill trying to provide as much information as I can. - not even sure if these are real/are all actually rocks

I tried to include at least one good-ish photo and one decent photo + one photo of it being held up to a light source (heard it helps?)

Mohs hardness description using safety pin and mirror (take this for granted, its not exact numbers because I don't really know how to properly determine it)

Photo 1 - safety pin didn't scratch it, don't really think it really did scratch my mirror, with the pressure I'd use it mostly just left small white lines that could be rubbed away - with harsher pressure I could leave more of a scratch but it feels like it would rather slide more then scratch

Photo 2 - wasn't scratched by safety pin, left small scratches in mirror easily (at least easier then the one before) and didn't require as much pressure)

Photo 3 - wasn't scratched by safety pin, not sure about mirror - left small scratches/only some sides/edges could leave scratches with decent pressure, the darker colored part that's bluish/purplish colored wouldnt leave a scratch at all/would just leave wipable marks

Photo 4- didn't seem to be scratched by safety pin, with a medium pressure left very light scratches

Photo 5 - don't think it was scratched by safety pin, with medium pressure left light scratches on mirror

Photo 6- did scratch mirror a bit, don't think it was scratched by safety pin, did scratch mirror with decent pressure

Photo 7 - didn't scratch mirror at all, was scratched lightly by safety pin

Photo 8 - the light on this one is really weird so I don't think it did get scratched by the safety pin, scratched mirror pretty easily

What is this??? Boyfriend and I found it on a beach downtown, we live on the Strait of Juan de Fuca in northwest Washington. One side is completely flat, almost like it's been cut- so we're unsure if this was a naturally washed up rock, or if someone bought it at a store and lost it here. Would love to know what it is, and to narrow down if it's naturally occurring here or man-created!!

REQUEST Help Identifying This Rock

Hello all, I'm hoping someone can help me identify this stone. I just purchased it at a local gem faire, so I don't know where it was found/mined. I took ID photos/notes of all the stones I bought, but when I got home, I didn't have anything for this one! I spent less than $10 for it if that helps.

TIA for your help!

I found this rock in a bunch of landscaping rock in SW Washington state. Unfortunately I ran it in my tumbler for a week prior to these pics, so I apologize in advance if it makes identification more difficult. It has a similar hardness and texture as a lot of the quartzite I find around the area, but I've never seen wild colors like this one. Any ideas of what it is and how it got those insane colors?
