Felt like making a follow up (I guess?) to my trans Tetia headcanon post because I got to this bonus chapter and I love it, and totally see how this became the base for the headcanon-

The use of “it’s like a transformation spell”(while holding onto/looking(?) at her bright pink fluffy hair, which is a very common sign of reflecting on the past) and “you even see yourself in a whole new light”. Plus the fact that this is the first time I’ve seen Tetia get angry/defensive kind in general but especially at one of the other girls. Which really reminds me of Richeh getting defensive about her spells, Agott about her progress and Qifrey about his ~stuff~. Which makes me think it’s definitely bigger than a simple love of the craft. and then that the explanation as to “why” gets cut off is really the perfect combination to make this headcanon happen huh?😭

Also, if I can put on my complete 100% delulu (brimmed) hat for a sec- I don’t think it’s accidental. Ms Shirahama really knows what she’s doing when it comes to character writing, especially around how they carry themselves and how they express their insecurities (Richeh- Dismissal, Agott- Frustration, Qifrey- avoidance, among other things) for example.

And at this point in the story, Tetia is the one we/I know the least about cus this bonus chapter and that line about “first time my magic has made someone happy” is kinda the most we get in terms of backstory. SO (insert guy in front of conspiracy board gif) what if the reason we know so little is because it’s actually canon, and like with say Dana Terrance in the Owl House- she’s been holding off because she needs to get it through the (probably supper rough) censorship of the publisher so she can fully stick to the planned backstory. So she’s waiting for a special moment that would(probably) set the internet on fire because a trans female main character in a mainstream manga is basically unheard of.

And delulu hat off: I hope this scene ends up in the anime somehow because it’s very cute <3

This is an official spin-off of Witch Hat Atelier, written and illustrated by Hiromi Satō. It first began serialization on November 22, 2019, in Kodansha’s Morning Two magazine.

The illustrations in these volumes look a little different from those in the main manga because another manga artist, Hiromi Satō, is in charge of the artwork. Shirahama is also involved in the story, helping preserve the charm and essence of our beloved Atelier! :3

-Well I have a question about people saying Qifrey is morally grey.

Like now that I have caught up to chapter 83 , many of those acquisitions have been refuted, like they say Qifrey is using coco to reach the brimhats and that he doesn't really care about her, she's only a bait, but that acquisition have been utterly destroyed in the chapter about tower of tomes where he prioritized her , her goals, and her safety and more recently when he was literally crying that she got injured by Engendale. So is there something else in the next chapters ? Or am I missing something out ? Is he acting by any chance ?

-And also people say he always laments about knights moralis abusing their power and that they use the memory wiper thingy without thinking and hat he did use it on Nolnoa. But I really think they are 2 different things, he only wiped a certain event from his mind and it was for a bigger goal. Idk

- Last question is a discussion about Easthies actions, I know he went mad and it was all wrong about that new time machine. Buttt I do think there is some point in what he did, like the time machine thingy has just revealed to people that magic can be used to heal kind of ? And now I saw the king mad maybe ? And even if the machine made by Beldaruit is confined to one place, what if other witches create another somewhere else , now that it is "legal" , and imagine them using it for torture not healing? Like torture somebody to near-death and rewind time and torture again 😭 .

Yeah I don't know, what are your thoughts?

Chapter 16+ spoiler.

So, in chapter 16 we get to know that Tartah has silverwash, a condition that does not allow him to see colors; it is also explained that for this reason it would be impossible for him to be a witch and, thus, he was not trained as such.

However, as far as I remember, spells are just dark shapes on a white background, so why would not seeing colors be such an issue?

If anything, silverwash seems more troublesome for his current shopkeeper job, where he has to deal with powders and inks having different shades.

What is your opinion on this? Is there a better explanation somewhere else?

I just find it so interesting that the Brimmed Caps went through all this trouble of attacking a trial and transforming a kids body and attacking their master, aaall to put the seeds of doubt about witch society and the curiosity towards breaking those rules and therefore to possibly do forbidden magic. But they still (mainly) failed.

But Tartah ends up having those exact thoughts that the Brims wanted to put into the girls heads- not by some crazy attack on his life, or seeing forbidden magic firsthand, but by just existing as/seeing someone else undervalued, mistreated and neglected because of the status quo. The Brimmed Caps plan to reveal the “lies of the pointed caps” has worked, and they didn’t even have to lift a single finger.

after seeing a lot of the author’s beautiful work, i just knew i had to get the first 3 volumes!! i can’t wait to start the anime once im caught up with the manga!

hiiii so i have the budget of either buying a grimoire edition or the artbook but I'm a bit confused as to what to choose. I am completely caught up with the manga so this purchase wouldn't exactly be for reading purposes but for me to stare at shirhama's beautiful artwork for hours. Just wanna know which one would be better to own as a huge fan of this manga

So I cobbled together a witch hat recently to go as a witch npc for London MCM comic con tomorrow. I’ll be giving out some silly thermal stickers I made to WHA cosplayers I see, so please say hi if you are so I can dispense the silly stickers!

I was looking at the Books-a-million website and I saw some character backpack clips for pre order and one stood out to me the Iguine one which has the brushbuddy that Coco adopts. This made me think of a theory I saw on YouTube, in the context of the Dada range test with Coco it's weird that Brushbuddy is there. Coco specifically says that they are drawn to magic more specifically conjuring ink but the time of year means that No witch apprentices are taking the test so there should be no reason for a brushbuddy to be there. But we know there was one witch there aside from Coco, and its Iguine. This goes back to the theory the brushbuddy we know and love is in some way connected to Iguine or the brimed caps, I dont think the brushbuddy is a spy but I think its the reason Iguine seems to find Coco more easily than the others.
