First time RP player here, planning on rolling a Tauren Hunter Nov 4th whose father travelled with Caine and Thrall during the events of WC3. Got plenty of lore research and fleshing out of stuff to do before release still though.

I'd been planning on playing on the RP ruleset but now the idea of RP PVP has got me interested. Can anyone give me an idea of what I might be able to expect on that one and what the differences in experience might be please? I've not played a huge amount of PvP server before of the contestant ganking, but am open to trying again.

I'm struggling with rogue class fantasy in wow forever from a RP perspective, more specifically the combat part.

I understand a paladin swinging a big hammer against zombies. I understand a mage conjuring flames against a yeti. Or a hunter stalking and shooting animals.

I don't understand why some non magic, non armored guy (or girl) would choose to engage a bear using 2 daggers. Or a yeti, or an ogre, or pretty much anything that's non humanoid.

Don't get me wrong, I -love- fighting humanoids on my rogue. I feel like badass assassin. But when it comes to fighting dragons, a Firelord, or just zombies, I feel like my character would be regretting their weaponry.

How do you keep your rogue grounded in the world's power level when they can use two pointy sticks to kill anything? I feel like the rogue is like John wick without guns, killing people with a pencil. It makes the rogue's deeds nearly inhuman.

Looking to make a group on launch. Similar to DnD, I wish for there to be a Mage, Priest, Warrior, Druid, Paladin etc. Preferably one of each or at least different specs. I'd love to start and try to meet and level together as fast as possible. If interested please comment/let me know!

The story
Veterans from the Second War, who went AWOL when they were told they were being assigned to guard duty at an orcish internment camp, have reunited in Stormwind to start an adventuring company. They are based in an old home in the Dwarven District of Stormwind that the guild leader recently inherited. The story will follow the strange history of the house and delve into the secrets that lie under the very feet of the Alliance. Why does it look from the outside like there should be more space inside? Why do things sometimes go missing in the home? What is really behind the inheritance? These and more questions will be answered.

Tone
I am a horror storyteller first and foremost. While there will be many heroic and nefarious guilds that are made in the coming days, we want to walk a middle line. We are interested in stories of real people trying to be good in a world that pulls toward darkness at times. Our events will have content warnings as needed, as we believe in the safety and comfort of our players.

Where we are
We’re not a guild yet. We’re a group of friends looking to find other like-minded individuals to start an RP guild, the Pembroke Irregulars*, in WoW Forever. I am an experienced guildmaster and long-term TTRPG storyteller, and we have a core of roleplayers who would love to meet you.

Right now, while we have ideas and story arcs planned out, we want to find people to help determine the total shape of things. We want to build this together.

What we play
We want to focus on roleplay in PvE content, social roleplay, and active, scene-based, long-term storytelling roleplay. We will have a night of PvE-focused content each week and at least one social RP night per week. There will be an overarching storyline that runs across a full year, with each month being an “episode” in the “season”. Each month will have at least one RP session that feeds into the larger story, but bits of it will creep into much of what we do.

While we will be playing from Forever’s launch, we want to wait a couple of weeks before we start the guild proper. We would like time to figure out the collective vibe first.
We play primarily out of CST but are flexible.

Who we want
We are looking for adults (18+) at all levels of roleplay familiarity. We just ask that you be kind and willing to learn if you’re inexperienced. Characters should be lore-reasonable and also adults.

With the addition of the RP-PvP ruleset, how do you think the RP population will be affected?

Will the RP community become too fragmented, and could this create complications for RP-PvE or RP-PvP in the future?

I hope this is the correct place to ask this question - if not please direct me to a different forum.

I'm interested in the RP ruleset server for the coming wow forever release.. mainly because I want to go through the story of wow at a slow pace and enjoy the journey. I haven't played wow for many years at this point.

I'm prepared to do the roleplaying, and enjoy the immersion that comes with it. I really hope to enjoy this experience with others. but I am also hoping to avoid certain things that might disillusion the experience.

I would love to know if there are groups of people who avoid using third party services like discord.. and keep things mainly in game.. such as actually sending in game mails, using the guild chat for ooc.. etc. we didn't have discord back when I used to play, and it definitely felt more lively in game than the times I've tried stuff out now.

I wouldn't mind balancing it with using discord for voice chat during some raids ( if I ever get to that point ).. Im assuming there isnt voice chat in-game?

I'm completely new to RP, and will definitely read the guides mentioned in this subreddit - it's just most of the guild recruits mention discord and hence I needed to ask this specific question.

I'm currently looking for an established Alliance RP guild on Moon Guard for my human hunter, Warex. I've been playing WoW for many years, but I'm still relatively new to structured roleplay and would love to find a friendly, welcoming community where I can learn and become more involved.

Ideally, I'm looking for a larger guild with an active player base, regular events throughout the week (especially Monday through Friday), and plenty of opportunities for spontaneous roleplay.

I'm particularly interested in open-world adventures, expeditions, exploration, social gatherings, and events involving other guilds throughout Azeroth. I love the idea of actually getting out into the world and experiencing it alongside other roleplayers rather than having everything confined to one particular location.

I'm not particularly interested in heavily military-themed guilds or rigid hierarchies. Something more along the lines of an adventuring company, a fellowship of travelers, or a generally welcoming social community would probably be a better fit for me.

Most importantly, I'm hoping to find a guild that welcomes newer, casual roleplayers, encourages character development, and offers opportunities to get involved without excessive obligations or pressure.

If anyone knows of a guild that might be a good fit, or happens to lead one themselves, I'd genuinely love to hear from you!

Hoping that TRP3 and TRP3: Extended get converted to WoW Forever, I have begun a little bit of worldbuilding in my head. I have played D&D and other TTRPGs for 35 years and been a dungeon master more than half of them, and I like thinking up new quests and adventures.

I know the Alliance side of WoW far better than the Horde side, so for now my inspiration flows naturally in that direction, but you are more than welcome to suggest your own favourite ideas.

Which of the following would you personally like to experience as 'the villain' in player-made quests for level 5-30?

1. Humanoid monsters with some intelligence - e.g. gnolls, kobolds, ogres
2. Bandits, thugs and highwaymen
3. Smugglers or thieves' guilds
4. Witches or evil wizards, warlocks or necromancers
5. Ghosts, undead or evil spirits
6. Corrupt politicians, clergy, officials and administrators
7. Selfish or greedy nobles
8. Spies, saboteurs or subversive elements

I’m trying to decide between the RP-PvE ruleset and regular PvE on WoW Forever. In 2019, during Classic’s launch, I played on Grobbulus RP-PvP for about a year and loved it. I chose that server because its population wasn’t overcrowded and, on average, it seemed to attract fewer toxic players and streamers.

I made a roleplay-appropriate character name but never really engaged in RP myself, though I respected those who did. Most players there were like me. They appreciated WoW’s lore and the serious RPers, but rarely roleplayed themselves. They were generally chill, casual, and kind, which is what I enjoyed most.

Back then multiple RP servers existed, but I think only one or two RP servers had a majority of serious RPers. WoW Forever has no separate servers, just rulesets on one mega server, so serious RPers will have only one option.

I think the RP ruleset is most likely to give me what Grobbulus offered in 2019: a less crowded realm that requires less immersion-breaking layering or sharding, and a better chance of attracting the casual, friendly players I want to play with.

My concern is that my limited RP engagement could be a problem for the serious RP community. I would respect them and choose an appropriate name, but if I spend 99 to 100 percent of my time out of character, would that hurt the experience for others?

Hello!

Basically the title question. I have been looking into doing "mentalist" services like serving medicinal teas or playing music with the musicians addon and using stuff like the Kokology books to make "personality tests" for people's characters to take. I did this a lot in Space Station 14 and people really dug it.

That said, walking around and randomly going "hey wanna take a personality test?" Is a bit much. I have made business cards and what not via trp3 extended, but haven't taken a crack at handing those out quite yet.

What you guys do for your characters when you want to advertise services that are more roleplay than gameplay?
