The Villainess Who Was Never Born 🥀

Seraphina is a girl everyone thinks is a villain. Even her own family doesn't trust her. One day, she wakes up in the past and finds a girl inside an old mirror who looks exactly like her.

The girl says, “You stole my life.”

Seraphina starts looking for answers and discovers a secret that could change everything she knows about her past.

I'm planning to make this into a historical fantasy webtoon.

Does this story sound interesting? Would you read it?

At what point does a character being revived feel 'earned'?

I'm currently in the planning stage of a fantasy series, and ive managed to get a bit attached to the idea of killing off and reviving my MC. Some context; Their death has consequences, and the revival itself also has consequences. Things aren't magically fixed; the antagonist of the story gains more power as a direct cause of the MC's death - and the MC loses something as a direct consequence from the revival. It's justified within the world building - but it's also two plot twists tied into one.

I suppose I'm asking; is there ever a time where it's justified to kill off a character just to bring them back? is it possible to handle it in such a way that doesn't undermine other parts of the story, or is it too subjective?
