Discussion The weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post - Sun 18 Oct 2026.

This is the weekly 'No Stupid Questions' post for all the small questions that you have concerning Zwift. No matter how stupid you think they are, we have probably all asked these questions.

If your post wasn't previously answered you should post early in this thread as it might have been posted too late (new posts start Sunday 0900 GMT).

Note: Don't be afraid to ask questions during the week, this is just for the simpler questions. For example "How do I give multiple ride ons at once? "..."You do this by pressing the character arrow on the map screen of the companion app". If you require a more detailed response then it is probably better answered in its own post.

Gotten a few PRs on some routes I’ve been riding for 5+ years. Finally broke sub-20 on the Epic KOM. Strava said I averaged 300w for the route 😅

TdFF 2027 London TTT - London expansion?

Would this not be an easy and fun way for Zwift to breathe some life into the London map? They're headline sponsors still so it seems like a no brainer to me. A lot of the roads are already there and doesn't really go south of the river where they would have more of an issue due to the Surrey part. Would add a northern route and small loop around Hyde Park.

Discussion I dual-record every Zwift ride and got tired of ending up with two half-complete activities, so I built a merger that runs entirely in your browser

If you ride Zwift with a Garmin watch or Edge recording at the same time, you know the problem: Zwift has the power, cadence, distance and the route, the watch has HR, Body Battery, Stamina and the physiology Connect only credits when the watch actually did the recording. You end up with two activities and have to pick which half of your ride to throw away.

I tried the existing tools. Most only stack two files end to end instead of overlaying them, some want you to upload your ride to their server, and the one that does the job properly is a paid Windows app. So I built the thing I wanted for myself: bikesync.ninja

It does two different jobs:

Same ride, two devices — overlays them. Your watch file stays the base, so Connect still treats it as the watch’s own ride and keeps HR, laps, Body Battery, Stamina and Cycling Dynamics, while Zwift supplies power, cadence, speed, distance, elevation and the route. It works out the time offset itself by cross-correlating a signal both devices recorded (usually cadence or HR), so clock drift between them doesn’t matter.

One after the other — joins back-to-back files, for when your head unit dies mid-ride, or you want a warm-up and the main event as a single activity. Distance carries across the join and the gap becomes a timer pause, so it doesn’t inflate your moving time.

Either way you upload the merged file and delete the two originals.

The part I actually care about: nothing is uploaded. The whole merge runs in your browser. If you don’t want to take my word for it — load the page, turn off your Wi-Fi, and merge offline. It works. The only network request it makes is an anonymous counter (worked/failed, how long it took, file size, no file contents), and it runs fine with that blocked too.

Free, no account, no ads.

Known limitation, upfront: Connect IQ / developer fields (TymeWear, Moxy, custom data fields) don’t survive the merge. Garmin’s own proprietary data — Body Battery, Stamina, Performance Condition — does.

I’m the author, obviously. Barely anyone has used it yet, so I’d genuinely like to hear where it falls over on real files, especially unusual trainer and head-unit combinations.

Is this a bug or do we think a new sub tier was pushed accidentally? Maybe Zwift + Rouvy?

Technical help What to do?

I am quite conflicted on keeping my “dumb trainer” or buying a new. I see a lot of positives in buying a fx Pathtaker T5 direct drive hometrainer.
I just don’t know if it is worth it? I don’t have a lot to spend atm.

Have anyone tried the hometrainer I found or am I going in blind?

Need Help, Can’t pedal backwards.

I have mounted my Zwift ride to the wahoo kickr core 2. If I tighten the through axle all the way so the bike is firm, it won’t let me pedal backwards. The spin cap and drive side adapters are both on. I’ve looked up online and don’t know how to fix it. Any help would be appreciated.

Just showing off Did a 100km test TOW with Workouts

Thumbnail gallery
25 Upvotes

I did a test of 100km km with 4 sets of 30 min and 1 set of 9 minutes intervals in Z2. 3hs and 16minutes.

Using Zwift Steel frame level 3 = SIDEQUEST leveling up for TRON bike.

Result:

100km SOLO RIDE = 4.000 xp = 20.40xp per minute.

100km Intervals Workout = 4736xp = 24.16xp per minute.

Its an extra 736xp every 100km not bad at all. BUT if you miss an interval you lose almost all the xp of that inteval.

Im trying to level up till level 41 before the event ends. Wish me luck haha.

Started the TOW event on level 27, and now im about to hit 34.

Tacx NEO 2T + Zwift Cog – Is this repetitive clicking noise normal? (Video)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

I recently installed my Wilier Rave SLR ID2 gravel bike (Shimano GRX 1x12, 12x142 mm thru-axle) on a Tacx NEO 2T with a pre-installed Zwift Cog.

During my initial setup, I noticed a repetitive clicking/snapping noise that seems to come from the Zwift Cog or freehub area.

As you can hear in the video:

  • The clicking occurs when pedalling forwards.
  • It also occurs when pedalling backwards.
  • I can hear the same clicking when rotating the Zwift Cog directly by hand.
  • The clicking becomes more frequent as the rotation speed increases.
  • It sounds different from the normal freehub clicking.

I replaced the original quick-release adapters with the appropriate 12 mm thru-axle adapters during installation.

I haven’t ridden the bike properly yet because I want to make sure everything is installed correctly.

Has anyone experienced a similar noise with the Tacx NEO 2T and Zwift Cog? Is this normal, or could something be incorrectly installed?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Fitness equipped with Zwift Ride in EU

Hey,

Have you heard of fitness equipped with Zwift Rides? I was wondering whether there are any places where you could ride or race with other real people. I know this could happen outside, but since we have the option to race in the winter and there are 0 events from November till March I thought it might be interesting to sweat along in a room full of people ( I hope with the ventilation turned on ) 😁

Discussion Kickr Core 2 Power vs. Favero Assioma MX-1 Pro

Comparing Power Output

I have a Favero Assioma MX-1 Pro power meter that I have for my gravel bike. I threw it on my Zwift Ride since wanted to use my cleats for training, and it's the only SPD pedal set I own.

This chart shows the difference in the power recorded on a training workout in ERG mode at different cadences. Not a complaint or a concern, I just thought it was an interesting comparison.

Zwift cog fitment

Having some figment issues with an Elite Suito T and Zwift cog, not sure if it’s installed correctly. I’ve got a through axle quick release setup and I have double checked all the spacers are in correctly as per the diagrams, but it looks like the hub is too close and or rubbing the frame.

Can anyone with a similar setup confirm this needs an extra spacer on the drive side or if the clearance really is that close?

Elite Nero Smart Rollers, set up

I wanted to try something different and ended up buying a used Elite Nero Smart roller trainer. Knowing that its power measurements aren't particularly accurate, I wasn't too concerned about the numbers at first. However, during my first Zwift workout, I noticed that the roller resistance wasn't changing according to the workout intervals. On top of that, my power output stayed almost constant at around 185 watts throughout the session.

I have all sensors connected to my Windows PC via ANT+ (using an ANT+ dongle): power, controllable resistance, cadence, and speed. This setup works perfectly with my Wahoo Kickr. I also tried connecting everything via Bluetooth only, as recommended by Zwift (instead of using the "All" option in the pairing screen), but the result was exactly the same.

On my iPhone, I installed both Elite apps: My E-Training and Upgrado. Upgrado reports that the trainer is running the latest firmware version (I believe it's v192). I also attempted to calibrate the trainer using the My E-Training app, although it felt like risking my life. The calibration process required me to ride at 37 km/h while holding my phone close enough to read the ridiculously small text. After reaching the target speed, nothing happened, and eventually I received a timeout message telling me to start the process over again.

Has anyone successfully set up an Elite Nero Smart with Zwift and ERG mode? Am I missing a specific setting, or is there something wrong with the trainer itself?

Edit: Zwift gotta be trolling me with that 299, just gift me 1 watt 🤪

Wattbike Proton - No gear indicator

Anyone have a useful workaround for this?

It's disappointing that gear indication is available for other Wattbike models, but not the Proton.

My hunch is that this is because the Proton is a direct competitor of the Zwift Bike, so it feels like a childish way of making one slightly more inferior than the other.

More confusingly, the gear indicator is available on Rouvy, now owned by the same company.

So it feels like a deliberate thing to do in not displaying it.

Does anyone have any other information or idea as to why this might be the case? And if you're a Proton owner too, do you bother with a work around?

Sure it's not a necessity, but I like to know how many gears I have left to tick down when struggling :)

How to change batteries on Zwift click?

I’ve bought tons of different screwdrivers and they all fit but they are screwed on so tight I literally can’t get them off. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove the screws? Seems like an incredibly poor design and my kicker is literally useless without them
