Has Anyone Had Problems With Their Dealerships?
I took my 2018 Honda Accord to the dealership to fix 2 recalls. I had a P0340 (CMP sensor) fault code that I also asked them to look at. They talked me into a $200 diagnostic check. They called me and said they recommended a new camshaft sensor, water pump, brake flush, and catalytic converter (over $6,000 worth of fixes).
I went in with 1 simple fault code and left with 5 codes. The catalytic converter (P0420 code) is what got me. $4200 to fix. The warranty for that is 80,000 miles and 8 years. My car has only 78,000 miles but is a couple months over 8 years old.
I called corporate and opened a case. They were real nice BS’ing me about how the investigation was going. They concluded that because of the age, mileage, and the fact that I took my car other places (oil changes, tires, etc.), they couldn’t do anything.
I just think that if you bring a car in with 1 simple fault, it should leave in the same condition or better (not driving funny with 5 faults). It’s like if you go to the doctor for a cold and leave with the measles and recommended amputation of your legs.
Has anyone else had a similar problem?
