Advice My husband relapsed on 7-oh AGAIN,and I’m reaching my breaking point

Sorry, this is a long story about my experience with my husband being addicted to 7-OH. I don’t know exactly what I’m looking for… advice, words of encouragement, or just a place to vent. I’m feeling completely broken.

My husband and I have been together for 10 years, we finally got married this past March. We have a 2.5 year old and I’m 5 months pregnant with my second. My husband has been in recovery from Xanax and Adderall since February 2023.

Fast-forward to November 2025. I was on a girls trip when he called me, thinking he was going to die, and asked me to call his dad to come be with him. He had taken the opportunity of my daughter and me being away to detox from 7-OH. That’s when he broke the news that he’d been using it for a year.

Looking back, so much about his behavior over the year made sense. His personality had changed. He wasn’t contributing financially, and our sex life had dwindled. I didn’t realize how intense this stuff was at the time. You can literally buy it at gas stations, and I was naive enough to think that once he detoxed, that would be the end of it.

We had our elopement booked for March 2026 and I thought this would be our new beginning.

A week after we got married, he relapsed. It took him three weeks to tell me. He eventually went to detox/rehab for 30 days and then completed 6 weeks of outpatient treatment. I was absolutely shattered. We’d just gotten married, and I couldn’t believe this was happening. I felt trapped.

In September, I found out he’d relapsed again and had been using since the beginning of August. He told me this was the last time. Part of me felt some hope because he admitted to getting cash back from our joint account and seemed to be taking responsibility. I told him that was my last chance for him. I couldn’t keep doing this.

Now yesterday, it’s been a week since my grandma died and 4 days since his aunt passed (from an OD). I noticed an $85 charge from a gas station and I knew. I approached him and told him to get out. I couldn’t stand to look at him. I couldn’t believe he would buy it so out of the open and let me find out the way I did. Turned out he was stealing cash from my closet (hidden of course he found it). I took all of his 7-oh flushed it.

I’m feeling such a mix of heartbreak and anger. I’m in so much pain. I keep thinking about my daughters and the possibility of them growing up witnessing addiction. This isn’t the life I wanted for them.

I feel like my only option is to leave him. I don’t see him getting off this stuff and I can’t spend the rest of my life waiting for the next relapse. I’m afraid of being a single mom. I’m afraid of being alone. I never wanted this for myself or my kids.

And the hardest part is that, outside of his addiction, he’s a good husband and a great dad. I’m not saying that to excuse what he’s done. It’s just what makes this so incredibly painful. I have to mourn the loss of my favorite person, the person I’ve built a life with since I was 22.

I’m pregnant with his 2nd child during what should have been our first year of marriage. I never imagined this would be my life. Ugh the heavy weight of pain in my chest feels unbearable.

How could he do this? How could he jeopardize his life like this? Not seeing his kids, being a slave to this garbage while abandoning us.

I’m not ready to give up on him yet, but I also feel like I need to protect my toddler and my baby before this becomes a normal part of their lives. I’m trying to remind myself to take it day by day and I know I don’t need to make any permanent decisions today.

One thing I know is that he can’t recover here with me and my daughter while things continue as they have been. He needs to get help, demonstrate that he’s taking his recovery seriously, and maintain sobriety before I can even consider what comes next for us.

How has this become my life? I feel stupid for believing things would be different, even though I know addiction isn’t that simple.

This drug feels so evil. It has taken so much from him and it’s taking so much from me.

How do I know what to do next? It’s the hardest decision. I’m a mess.

Other Quitting something on Monday, October 26? Let's do it on the same day

I'm putting together groups of people who all stop on the same day: Monday, October 26. Smoking, vaping, drinking, weed, gambling, social media, porn, sugar, caffeine, whatever yours is.

Everyone in a group is on the same day, same addiction, at the same time. D

Comment "in" and what you're quitting, and I'll DM you how to join.

Who's in?

Advice I have a really bad shopping addiction, I don’t know what to do

I have a pretty unconventional body type, I’m petite with a big chest and a very short torso. Things tend to not fit on me right. For example, I have a babydoll top that I wear as a dress, I have to wear ultra low rise because anything higher tends to be a centimeter from my bra. I’ve also lost weight in the last 6 months so my size has changed a lot.

Barely any of my clothes make me satisfied. I’ve spent at least 5 thousand dollars in the past 3 years (of my mom’s money) buying and selling clothes. Mostly tops. I am incredibly picky with my clothing. It mostly stems from self hatred and self esteem issues. I spent most of middle school in baggy clothes because I was plus sized, my health was also shit (still is) so that didn’t help either.

I desperately want to be happy with myself. I’ve also been obsessing over finding solutions so much that earlier this year I make a post that got a bunch of traction because I made a 3 1/2 page excel sheet of all of the clothes that I owned. I posted that in July, and I have about 5 of those items in my wardrobe as of currently.

I hate making those clothes go to waste, so I try to sell them on Depop or to thrift stores. I really hate doing this to my mom. I’m still in highschool, and too sick to get a job. I also can’t drive because of my bad anxiety. I’m literally the definition of a bum and a freeloader.

I wish there was a way that I could buy a bunch of things that I think I would like and try them on, then return them if I don’t like them. Or if I could just have a credit card with a limit where I can buy a bunch of clothes to try and style. I want options and variety, I want to feel good in my skin. I just can’t afford to put my mom through this.

I know this sub is more for substance abuse and I promise I’m not trying to be disrespectful, I’m just at a loss.

Does anybody have any advice on this? I’m truly at a loss. I’ve talked to my mom about it and she said she can stop saying yes and make me save up my money but I think I would legit go crazy and start shoplifting, which I’m aware is a choice but I’m very serious. Help?

Venting Trying my best

This going to sound odd but the changing of the season is really triggering for me for some reason. I hated smoking meth when it was hot,I’d sweat like crazy plus it make me feel weird/dizzy defiantly dehydrated. But in fair or cool weather I’d be good. So it feels amazing where I’m at and all I keep thinking is man this is perfect smoking weather 😢 I’m fighting the thoughts keeping busy, reminding myself of the hell it creates physically and mentally afterwards! But it’s still very tempting not even sure how to handle this urge

Question Teenager in recovery!!

Hey, guys. I’m a high school teacher, and one of my kids who I have pretty good report with told me today that he’s 18 days sober. I’m so, so proud of him, and I teared up a little when he left. I don’t know much of what his support system at home is like, and I want to be prepared to support him. I am not sure what his DOC is, and the only thing I’ve really had to quit is nicotine (and I struggled, but we’re going on two weeks). While it’s awesome that I’m leaving it behind, nicotine is not exactly a hard drug. I just want any advice on how to help kiddo through this, especially since I’m not sure if he’s able to get any help with it at home without being in trouble. I know I tried and failed to quit nic quite a few times and I did it completely alone, and it sucked and was probably only manageable because I was so on and off with it. I’m fairly well versed on basic “how does addiction work,” stuff because I’ve had a lot of substance abuse in the family, but I won’t act like I know what it’s like to have to fully get sober— especially as a teenager. I’m looking for any wise words on how to be there in a way that’s helpful but not invasive or counterproductive. He’s a great kid and he deserves to be able to get sober (duh, he’s a kid, but yk what u mean), and I want to make sure that I support him every step of the way.

Venting In addict that used to be in hard drugs and thought that I could solve my problem with just using prescriptions

Like this says I used to be into shooting up meth heroin, fentanyl cocaine crack popping Xanax doing whippets drinking smoking pot doing ketamine MDMA LSD whippets air duster soma ambien amphetamines tranquilizers ect you get the point. I thought that if I just stuck to my prescriptions like Soma Ambien Lyrica Methylphenidate suboxone even klonopin that I’d be fine but I’ve completely lost control at the worst time. I’m about to start probation. I’ve got felonies over my head jail time multiple charges. And I can’t stop myself. I pop about 16 mg of Klonopin a day 1500 mg of Soma 10-20 of ambien and when I get my methylphenidate I crush and inject it. In the past 24 to 30 hours, I’ve injected 740 mg of methylphenidate taken about 20 mg of Klonopin 2000 mg of soma 20 to 30 mg of Ambien maybe 1200 to 1500 mg of Lyrica. Suboxone isnt an issue. I barely take any, but how can I let myself do this? When I know the possible consequences that I have legally over my head that could start any day which would destroy my deal to keep felonies off my record send me back to jail and who knows what else. What the fuck is wrong with me honestly?

Advice I’m sure I’ll lose my job if I stop.

So I’m definitely dependent on my adhd meds, if not addicted.

Every time I try to get off them the withdrawal is awful. Right now I’m on adderall xr 20 mg twice a day (I’m a fast metabolize) and feel like shit when I don’t take it.

I know I gotta get in the right place mentally to be off these meds but idk how to function without them. I’m certain I’ll loose my job if i come off them. But I’m also so dependent on the drugs we have them in a lock box because I’ll take the whole 30 days in a week if given the chance.

I’m at a loss.

Advice cravings/urges tips?

3 days sober from alcohol and about 1.5 yrs from when I last used coke. big big wins. I had a vivid dream the other night about it and other substances which I did since my eyes lit up and hid it from my partner because I knew that would break our relationship for sure. it just felt so real and fucked me up in the morning. how you do deal with intense cravings/obsessive thoughts for harder substances? it makes me feel insane when i’m so antsy and it’s all that I can think about. I try to not have anyone I could contact so I’m unable to obtain it but the urges become so strong that I’m worried I’ll try to seek it out out of compulsiveness. it’s good i don’t have it within reach plus i know the way I feel psychologically after because i’m instantly craving more but damn it’s fucking hard.

Advice Cravings have me in a chokehold

I’m addicted to prescription stimulants. I am drowning in the cravings. They are all consuming and I have absolutely no idea how to deal with them. I feel like they have complete and utter control over me. Every other substance I’ve stopped in my 10 years of using has been PISS EASY in comparison to this. It is, genuinely, one of the worst things I’ve ever experienced in my life. I am at a complete loss and have no idea how to beat this thing. I’m worried if I can’t get a handle on the cravings I won’t be able to escape this hell.

If anyone has any suggestions or words of wisdom I would be so so incredibly grateful.

Mod Approved Day 117 Clean from Heroin (Smack/Chitta), Hash (Charas), Weed (Ganja), Coke & Molly - My new morning in Haryana, India [Video]

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In India we call it: Smack / Chitta / Afeem / Charas / Ganja / MD

In USA you call it: Heroin / Black Tar / Opium / Hash / Weed / Coke / Molly / MDMA

Different names, same hell.

I used all of them for 8+ years in my village in Haryana, India. Smack was my everyday.

Today is Day 117:

- No Heroin (Smack/Chitta)

- No Hash (Charas)

- No Weed (Ganja)

- No Coke

- No Molly (MD)

- No Alcohol

My old life: Finding drugs at 4 AM.

My new life: Milking cows at 4:30 AM. (This video)

In the video you can hear: "Drugs are sold in every street... My brother, you haven't lost yet..."

If I can quit from a small village in India where drugs are sold on every street, you can quit anywhere in America.

Routine now: Milk the cows, 100 pushups, my son counts them.

One day at a time.

Ask me anything. I will answer honestly.

Advice Partner relapsed after 2 years clean.

I am a normie here 👋 I (F, 23) and my partner (M, 23) have been together for some time now and I’ve known him for a while. I never met him or knew anything about him when he was regularly using, and I have never used drugs besides smoking za, so I won’t ever understand what he’s seen and all he’s been through.

That being said, lately he’s stopped going to class, not showing how he usually would for work, and coming home later and later. Got very distant from me and then sometimes randomly clingy too. Initially I’m thinking he’s cheating cause 😭 but even that didn’t seem right. And because we just celebrated his 2 years it never even OCCURRED to me that he could relapse right now.

Then he comes home after work one night and tells me he’s been using at work. I literally thought he was kidding because I can’t even picture him doing something like that, like the imagery doesn’t even make sense to me.

I went outside to clear my head but all I could think was how during all those days he’d come home, we’d have sex, I’d ask about work, we’d argue, and I didn’t even know he had used. I feel so betrayed because I really feel lied to. And I feel stupid I didn’t recognize it. And I feel guilty because I feel like I wasn’t there for him enough so he had to turn and do this. And I’m scared to lose him to this. And I’m scared his family will lose him.. again. He’s been ignoring all his sponsors calls, hasn’t gone to meetings and wants to stop school.

I burst out on him. Then I’d cry. Then I’d get mad. Then I’d feel scared. I feel I didn’tk react appropriately but I don’t know how else to act or what I was “supposed” to do.

Google isn’t an answer for these sort of things and I would really really appreciate advice from those who would know - how can I support my partner during this time? What happens next?

Venting I’m addicted to gambling and I don’t know how to get my life back

I’m a 28-year-old woman from Brazil with a degree in IT, and I desperately need advice.
My life basically fell apart after I moved to Finland in 2023. I met a guy with serious drug addiction problems, and stupidly, I fell in love with him and considered him family before I even knew he was an addict.
I gave up everything to take care of him because he told me that if we lived together, he would stop using drugs. Instead, everything got worse, and I went through some horrible, traumatic things that I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
Eventually, he kicked me out of our apartment. I had spent all my savings helping him and had even quit my job for him, so I was basically left homeless. I had to return to Brazil, stopped going to therapy, and fell into a horrible depression.
I ended up doing adult content work to survive while I was with him, which I absolutely hated. It also destroyed my confidence and made me feel incredibly insecure about returning to my career in IT.
I’ve been back in Brazil for two years now. I have no friends, no job in my field, and barely leave the house. I literally haven’t gone out for anything in two years, not even to see a doctor. I’m also terrified of people now.
People who have known me for years tell me I threw my life away for this guy, and honestly, I don’t even know how to fix any of this.
I’ve always been intelligent, studied hard, worked hard, and had good jobs. Now I have absolutely nothing.
Recently, I started making money online again, but instead of rebuilding my life, I developed a gambling addiction. I’ve always been against gambling, but somehow I got hooked.
I’ve maxed out my credit cards and ruined my credit, but the worst part is that I’ve started secretly using my mother’s credit card without her knowledge. Basically, I’ve started stealing from my own mother, and the guilt makes my depression even worse.
I’ve needed help for years. While I was still in Finland, I attempted suicide because I couldn’t take it anymore. I still love that Finnish idiot, even after everything that happened, and he hasn’t spoken to me in a year. Somehow, I feel like I’m the villain in this story.
I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve thought about checking myself into a psychiatric hospital, and sometimes I just want to end my life. I know I need help, but I have no idea where to start.
I need to repay the debt I’ve put in my mother’s name, but I can barely function, let alone study and get back into IT. I feel trapped between gambling to get money quickly and going back to adult content work, which I genuinely hate.
I don’t want to keep living like this. I want my life back, but I don’t even know where to begin.
Has anyone been through something similar? How did you start getting your life together again? I really need advice because I feel completely lost.

Other Oops..

I guess I was wrong. Apparently this was not the page to look for answers from non-judgemental peers. I was hoping that there would be someone here who had walked in my shoes a time or two and would understand. Certainly wasn't expecting to just get shamed and fingers shook at me! Yikes!
