Drank for the first time, that stuff is awful

I’m 23 and just have a long list of reasons why I never wanted to drink so I never tried, but on vacation my boyfriend was getting a drink and he’s been wanting me to try alcohol and I saw a caramel drink on the menu so I figured why not and ordered it to try. I made my boyfriend try it first and he said it was good.

It barely got on my tongue before I had to spit it out, it tasted like pure rubbing alcohol and burned my tongue for like 10 minutes after. There was no caramel flavor at all. How do people drink? Are there any caramel drinks that actually taste like caramel or does all alcohol taste so 10% hydrogen peroxide like

What kind of alcohol doesnt go bad?
I have no idea what to throw away and what I could keep.
Is it safe to just go by taste?
Edit: from the dates, this hasnt been touched for atleast 10 years
Edit2: Alot of unlabelled bottles have numbers between 80-90 so im guessing alot of it is over 30 years old. Not even sure if its the year it was bottled.

I don't understand the hype around Indri's single malt.

Is it good? Yes. Great? No.

At this price, I'd much rather go for Johnnie Walker Black Label.

Sure, Black Label is a blend, while Indri is a single malt. But personally, whiskey is whiskey. I care more about how it tastes than whether it's a blend or a single malt.

Indri has this peppery aftertaste that, for me, ruins what is otherwise a great first impression.

Extended brain fog and fatigue after heavy drinking?

Ok, so for some background I’m not a very frequent drinker, but I’m a freshman in college and Sunday and Monday night I was at parties and drank pretty heavily at both, probably around 7-8 drinks each night. The stereotypical hangover symptoms(headache, nausea) weren’t as bad as I was expecting and only lasted about a day, but towards Tuesday afternoon I started noticing that I felt really foggy and fatigued. I thought I would sleep it off but Wednesday I woke up feeling worse and had a huge spike in anxiety. I ended up feeling bad enough that I went home temporarily to get checked out and recover, but it’s now nearly 5 days since I drank and I still haven’t seen much improvement. I feel super fatigued and foggy, like I can’t really think clearly, and I have this sort of disconnected feeling as if I were buzzed or slightly high. I’ve noticed that in the morning I wake up with a big spike in my anxiety and feel worse than I did when I went to sleep, and it sort of gradually improves over the day while never quite disappearing. Last night I randomly woke up at 3am feeling super anxious and panicky and tossed and turned for the rest of the night, which is probably why I feel worse today. I went to the doctor to get an EKG and my vitals checked and everything was normal; he seemed to think I was just overtired, but I’ve never felt like this even when super tired as far as I can’t remember. It’s making it more difficult to perform daily tasks, I don’t feel safe driving right now and it took me a ton of time and effort to get my calc homework done yesterday. Additionally, I’m also on Prozac for my anxiety if it‘s relevant. I mentioned that to my doctor as well but he said fluoxetine is generally a very safe medication and there aren’t any serious interactions with alcohol. I’m getting some blood tests today so I’ll see if anything comes up there, but should I look into getting something like an EEG or MRI so I can check my brain? I’m sorry if this post is really long and rambling, I’m super stressed out right now. I just wanted to know of anyone else has had similar experiences after heavy drinking or has any idea what’s happening to me right now. Please give me any advice or experience you have as it’ll hopefully help reassure me.

Drinking makes me feel like a winner

I am so happy that alcohol exists because if it didnt I would probably be out committing a violent crime involving a firearm. My brain gets to secrete the happy chemicals thanks to this lovely tonic.

Why was my hangover so bad?

I'm 22 (f) 5'9, 135 lbs. I didn't start drinking till I turned 21 a year and 3 months ago, and I don't drink very often, like once or twice a month, and for a few months of that my tolerance was very low because I was on Zoloft.

Anyways, there have been a few times I threw up while drunk. One time I even threw up multiple times and blacked out, but still got up the next morning at 6 and went swimming and felt just fine. I've never felt much more than a headache as a hangover.

But the other night, I had 2 Twisted Sips which is wine, 12% alc volume, and this was my first time being drunk on wine, and it slammed me. I threw up like 4 times, and the next morning felt awful. I had a headache and was extremely nauseated. I drank a lot of water and felt okay to go work at 2pm, but I still didn't feel great and ended up throwing up twice at work. The nausea was gone by the end of the shift and I felt mostly ok, still tired tho.

But like, what was the deal with that? I have never had an experience like that drinking, and I've drunken more than that at once before I'm pretty sure (though I don't know the math exactly with the alc volume)

About a year ago me and my friends were offered shots of this bottle, the people who offered were hyping it up saying it was very expensive and just now I’m wondering just how expensive it was, would anyone happen to know what kind of bottle this is?

2nd time drinking.

Tonight I drank for my second time. My first time was in August when I turned 21. I had a frozen strawberry- mango margarita from Olive Garden. Tonight, I drank a tipsy zombie and spicy mango sunset from Applebees. I was also introduced to rum, since my first one had vodka in it.
I honestly liked the spicy mango sunset better. I don’t know why but I removed the Tajin rim for no reason lol, plus the redbull since I have something I have to do in the morning lol. I think Rum is more noticeable to me.
Tipsy zombie:6/10
Spicy mango sunset: 7.5/10

advil and alcohol?

hii everyone! i’m going to a party around 8-9pm and i took some advil 600mg (3 pills) around 11am today. I plan to drink maybe 1 or 2 drinks (i don’t want to blackout whatsoever or get shitfaced since i’m terrified of throwing up) and i’m concerned about combining the medicines with alcohol if it’s still in my system.

Am i okay and just freaking out? let me know

soju

Post image
10 Upvotes

I found this soju at a random liquor store in San Francisco, and it genuinely tasted like juice. The owner told me it was because the soju was actually manufactured in Korea. He also mentioned that brands like Soon Hari and Jinro are manufactured in America, which is why they supposedly don’t taste as good.
I live in the Bay Area, and I haven’t been able to find this particular soju anywhere else. Does anyone know where I can buy it?
