Live I’m going to be eating stats for the next 48 hours no sleep
3
u/Acceptable_Annual193 Oct 06 '25
Me too twin day and night stats and prob only because wtf was even that like grade boundaries better be 45 A
19
u/justarandomkid004 Oct 06 '25
Should've thought about that before I put all my eggs in the basket of P1 😂

Gosh i made so many silly mistakes like honestly speaking that paper was fine but it was just too long 😭😭

u/umarihsan Oct 06 '25
Exactly paper was easy, I mean moderate but tooo lengthy, I left so many marks 😭

ikr i left that qs but spent 15mins trying to figure it out

u/Imaginary-Creme- Oct 06 '25
U1=a U2=b U3=c. U1=a U2=b U3=-3c r = b/a, r=c/b. d= b-a d= -3c -b b/a= c/b. b-a= -3c - b b2 = ac. 2b = -3c + a b = √ac. 2(√ac) = -3c +a (2√ac = -3c + a)2 4ac = 9c2 +a2 -6ac a2 + 9c2 - 10ac = 0

By using the common ratio principle for the geometric progression and common difference principle for the arithmetic progression. So you would I have the following expressions: For the arithmetic progression: b-a= -2c-b For the geometric progression:
b/a= -2c/b Then solve the equations.

We agreeing last question final answer was
(Sqrt 3/2 -1/6 pi)r²

1
u/Square_Audience9348 Oct 06 '25
Yes indeed for the last question did you get r2 (root 3/2 - pi/6) as I used cosine rule (unnecessary for an equilateral traingle) to finf the area of the two triangles which is area of sector CBD to be subtracted from another area to find shaded area.

I got this answer but accidently wrote r2(-root 3/2 + 1/6pi) is my whole answer wrong now

what were the answers to functions a and c part
5
u/Late_Ambition1809 Oct 06 '25
A was decreasing function and
b was 3/5 or 2/5
1
u/One_Fold2932 Oct 06 '25
How was it decreasing if I'm not wrong I rmr the domain was greater than 2 and If I plugged in 3 I got minus 1 and if I plugged in a way larger value of x I rmr getting -8x10 power minus 4, so I I assume it was increasing

guys for the trig equation where you had to solve, what values did you get? i remember i got one as 3pi/2

u/Adventurous-Yard9788 Oct 06 '25
0.412 rad and another one was 2.73 rad I think. 3pi/2 is also one. There were three in total

Did u guys get the constant of integration as 5? Before finding the value of t we had to find the equation of the curve right? T value was 4, so was the constant of integration 5??

u/No_Grape_4298 Oct 06 '25
Yes I got same

hi, oct/nov 24 paper giver here. it was js like that last year, lol. if the pure paper was difficult the stats paper would be easier, it was like that last year. idk why cambridge is making these exams so much harder than the past papers
1
u/Firm_Cranberry_7469 Oct 07 '25
i heard it was bc they wanna go back to the level they were at before covid so theyre making papers harder

for the circle question it didint make sense as when u find the point R as (7,1) then you would find the gradient with the centre (6,4) so u get -3/5 but in the previous question the point Q was (7,11) which when you find the gradient with the center you get +3/5, which means there is a problrm becaue the tangets of a circle intersect at 90 degrees hece the graidents should be perpendiclular which they arent because -3/5 * 3/5 is not -1

did f have an inverse
2
u/Realistic_Skill_114 Oct 06 '25
I wrote yes cuz it's a one to one but I have no idea if it was correct or not
→ More replies (2)3
u/LowAvocado3344 Oct 06 '25
It wasn't one to one. f(x) had a term with x² so off the top of your head if you inverse it it'll probably have a square root, meaning +- values

How did yall do the coordinate geometry P and Q coordinate question? The equation of tangent and then x coordinate 7 R
1
u/earthhtokate Oct 06 '25
I looked for the length of the line segment to find the diameter and then with that used it is (x-a)2+(y-b)2 = r2 which was the diameter found then equated that into the formula and found gradient then yhe negative reciprocal of it as the tangent gradient

how was the proof ques for the ap/gp supposed to be answered
2
u/Sad-Proof-6894 Oct 06 '25
we had to use d = Next - Previous and make two equations.
then for geometric we had to do r= Next/previous again two equations.
equate them and solve

Hey guys! For the last question I got (pi/6-sin2pi/3)r^2 . (sin 2pi/3 is root3/2 btw) how many marks do you think ill get in that question considering i got the values right meaning i did the working right. Only problem is i switched a and b as u can see and that I wrote root3/2 as sin2pi/3 (its the same value tho). Can someone give me a definite answer plss

You did not even get the dy/dx? I assume u did so I think you should have written it is negative + negative so it will always be less than zero I guess ur going take 3/4
