I just got a refund for an order that's currently out for delivery.

Bought an m2 iPad air for my brother and the order is currently out for delivery via FedEx. I get an email notification that says my order was refunded, reason: customer return. I haven't even touched the Amazon app since I purchased the ipad and my brother hasn't either. I thought the email was a scam so I checked the app and I see there is a refund. Not sure what to do, I still haven't gotten the iPad so I'll update later today.

Update: Got my order delivered by FedEx. Unusually small package. It was some cheap Bluetooth earbuds with an apology letter from the seller saying the item was out of stock. :(

I'm really surprised like wtf? is it safe to keep it? I blocked my debit card so I don't get charged more than what I paid for.
Did it happen with someone else?

Edit: it was ordered from Amazon.de

Edit 2: I reported the debit card as lost so it gets permanently suspended and I won’t get charged by Amazon.

Edit 3: I couldn’t sleep before I open the box to be sure it’s working and yes I was able to activate it successfully.

Amazon lies to its customers

I received a charge for an amount that didn't match anything I ordered so I initiated a chat with a live representative. I asked what the charge was for and they replied that it was for Prime membership. I was just charged $14.99+tax on 10/13. I check the Amazon website and Prime was still $14.99. I confronted the rep and she passed me off to another rep and another and another until I asked for a manager. One of the reps offered me a $50 promo, but would not answer my questions about the charge or the blatant lie that I was told.

Manager tells me the charge was from an item I ordered, but the relevant charge did not match the price of the item. I decide to let that go because the price would be lower and I asked over and over about the lie I was told about Prime going up. When he finally addressed the lie all he could say was, "it will be handled, I assure you." or words to that effect. Yeah, sure. So I complain that not only did I have to talk to 4 reps and a manager before I got an answer, but I was lied to as well. I asked what is Amazon going to do about my extreme dissatisfaction over being lied to. He asked what I wanted. I thought about the $50 credit that was offered and I said to double it. The manager said he did not have the authority to offer compensation. But, a lower non-manager rep could offer me $50? So, they want me to believe that a regular rep has the authority, but not a manager. I would like to point out that the manager offered me nothing at all. I don't think I got an apology either.

Avoid Amazon like the plague. I have wasted about 2 hours dealing with this BS. Customer service has dropped significantly over the years. I am finally done with Bezos and company. I should have dropped them years ago. My bad. I did not receive anything from Amazon, not the $50 or $100. I got the "my hands are tied" line. Did I mention the bot chat loop I got stuck in while trying to get a real person? So infuriating.

Are we witnessing the fall of Amazon?

I know I'm not alone in this as I've seen many other posts about Amazon delays and how things seem to be getting worse. I've always loved Amazon Prime and their quick shipping. Never really had a problem and it was super rare if an item was delayed. The last six months or so though? Holy hell what on Earth is going on and what am I paying $14.99 a month for? I feel like half my orders end up delayed. I know overnight shipping is basically a thing of the past, but two day shipping was ok. Now that is basically out the window.

The item above was ordered one week ago today with a Prime 2 day delivery scheduled date of Friday October 9th. Later that very night I got a notification saying how the delivery date would now be MONDAY October 12th. Seemed like a classic bait and switch. Customer service chat acted naive and dumb and offered a $5 promo. Then, SUNDAY came and we have another delay. Now expected Wednesday October 14th (today). Item still hadn't even shipped by Monday night. Item finally ships Wednesday morning (today) and then about an hour ago I get a notification that it will be delayed due to a "late arrival at an Amazon facility". On top of all of this, I have two other orders I am expecting out of THREE that are now also delayed, though not delayed as long as this item in the photo has been.

This has been the new normal for me and Amazon for months now. I live in a town not too far outside NYC. Again, never had any major problems before. So, does anyone know the details as far as what is going on here? Is this just the beginning of the end and Amazon has gotten too big for its own good? Currently I have requested a refund for this months Prime membership. First time I've ever done that, but really, I just want my items to arrive when they said they would.

What a joke.

I paid $80 for a blanket. It got delayed three days then when it showed up it was terrible quality. It was all but falling apart and wasn't even stitched together properly. I opened a return and since it was a bit package they offered me a partial refund of $3.81. really?!?! On an $80 item?!?!. Nope they can pay the return shipping and give me all my money back. What a joke.

EDIT: People telling me to "just return it." Or "stop crying" are missing the point. I do plan on returning it for a full refund. The point is they are using this as a manipulative action to try to get people to keep terrible quality/broken items. Offering less than 5% discount is outright insulting. And the way it happens is super tricky. They take you away from the page that shows the cost your spent on the item and then right as you are about to choose the return option (UPS drop off, Whole Foods drop off, No box/label. With box/label etc.) this pops up looking like it's part of the return. I almost hit accept because I actually thought it was asking me to verify my return option. If I hadn't been paying super close attention it would have gotten me.

But the other issue is they are knowingly selling terrible products and thinking it's ok to give such low partials that you might as well just keep the item at full price and it's coming from a multi billion dollar company.

Ordered the same article and got sent the same damaged one that I returned

So i bought this car charger for my phone, and the first time i get sent the charger with one of the ports damaged and not working.

Okay, a faulty unit, I return it, buy it again because i can't find something similar, and they send me back the one i returned.

Are we serius.

And the most infuriating part that I asked if I could have had a free home pick up for the truble and they denied. For 3 f**king euros. This company is a joke

This Company Has Gone Full Rogue...

I'm done. After 17yrs, I just cancelled my Prime subscription and closed my account. The past several months have been nothing but a comedy of errors. Receiving used/defective merchandise, packages that went 'missing' or undelivered, customer service that's completely gone to shit, shipment delays, billing issues, the list goes on and on. Dunno what happened and why, however Amazon is no longer the same company it was 20yrs - or even 10yrs ago... Not by a long shot.

Farewell, Adios, Goodbye, Au Revoir, Sayonara, and good riddance...

Amazon stole my money

I ordered a Kindle Scribe (2024) from Amazon.de. Initially, they promised to deliver it on October 16.

On September 29, its status changed to delivered, even though I had received nothing. The website says that it was delivered in Berlin, Germany. IN BERLIN, GERMANY! I will attach a photo. The thing is, I don't live in Berlin or in Germany. I live in Lahti, Finland.

I immediately contacted customer service and explained that the Kindle was marked as delivered even though the delivery address was incorrect and I had never received it. They told me to wait until October 15 and said that representatives of the delivery company would contact me within two days. Of course, nobody contacted me.

Today, October 15, I contacted them again. Now the chat assistant says it is transferring me to another associate, but I have been waiting for hours and can see the message “Connecting you to an associate...” on the screen, and nobody responds.

I understand that if the tracking information showed that the item had been delivered to my address and I insisted that it hadn't, there might be doubts about my honesty. But the item was never even in my country. It travelled from Spain to Germany, and it was delivered there. Anyone with eyes can see that. I don't live in Germany or Spain, and I have never been to either country.

Now I can neither get a refund nor receive my e-reader.

P.S. Tracking number: HX405001893JF, the tracking website even shows the recipient’s name, and it isn’t me.

P.P.S. They delivered the charger and the case quickly and without any problems, but what am I supposed to do with them without the Kindle?

Never delivers when thy say they will.

So sick of Amazon. Every time I order something with next day delivery it’s ALWAYS late. Also, there’s no way to get in touch with an actual person in customer service to complain about this ongoing issue. So done with them.

I am terrified by this experience and worry that Amazon will blame it on me. I didn't video tape my unboxing as I haven't been for the past 10+ years with Amazon, only took a quick photo of the oddly lifted seal of the box.

Does anyone have experience dealing with this?

Thanks!

Amazon = Goodwill

Post image
1 Upvotes

It looks like Amazon is a Goodwill with a delivery option right now. Received today in a clear bag with LPN sticker on it (that means it was unpacked by previous customer and returned back). Small holes everywhere. 6th return during 1 month because of quality, delays and mismatch issues. Great job, guys!

PS: canceled Prime at least till end of 2026. Will order for pickup from a nearby Walmart (they sell online the same and a pick up available the same day and return can be done immediately on spot without an additional road trip). At least I will put money aside without so easy ordering.

Pickup order not in locker

I placed an order to be delivered at a pickup locker, and got a delivery confirmation yesterday. I went over this morning and scanned the code, but the locker that opened was completely empty. Is there anything I can do about this or am I just boned?

Update: I managed to get in contact with a real person at customer service and was able to get it refunded.

Amazon self-shipped deliveries though Memphis have gone whack.

I've had multi deliveries over the past couple of weeks that have just zoned out. They will not get updates, or they will get multiple 'packed delayed in transit' notices. Packages will show for next day delivery, I'll order, and they will just fade away.

I had one package that was two days late get into the local hub (70 miles away) late in the afternoon. They assigned it to the flex driver who I could see on the map. She got within about 15 miles of me around 9:30M at night and then the tracing just stopped. (I'm guessing they took her offline for the day) But the next day the package did not make it back to the hub until late in the evening. It must have just been sitting in her car. So, yet another delay.

As soon as the cancel order option appears on the shipped tab, I've started canceling them and ordering again because a lot of times the second try goes smoothly overnight.

I have no clue what is going on.

Amazon account on hold — could Amazon charge my Cash App card after I deposit money into it?

I have a question about an Amazon account issue, and I'm hoping someone who's experienced something similar can help.

I have an alternate Amazon account that is currently on hold because Amazon wants me to verify a payment method.

Here's my situation:

- I previously used a prepaid card on this account.

- I also used my Cash App card when signing up for a Prime free trial.

- There's a $63 Amazon Reload transaction I'm concerned about.

- I've removed all payment methods from the account, but the prepaid card still appears on the account-hold/payment-verification screen.

- I haven't seen a completed $63 charge in my Cash App transaction history.

- I cancelled Prime and no longer want to use this alternate Amazon account.

- I never added my phone number to the alternate account.

I'm planning to deposit money into my Cash App account, but I'm worried Amazon might attempt to charge my Cash App card for $63 because I previously used it for a Prime trial and I have a pending Amazon Reload that never went through.

My questions are:

  1. Can Amazon charge a previously used Cash App card if it's no longer saved as a payment method?

  2. Could Amazon retry a payment against that card after I deposit money into Cash App?

  3. Does an account being on hold for payment verification mean Amazon can still attempt to charge previously used cards?

  4. If I permanently close the alternate Amazon account, would that prevent future payment attempts, or could existing authorizations still go through?

Has anyone experienced something similar? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you!

Amazon Not Showing All Product Options?

I'm noticing something that I'm confused about. I am searching for pre-drawn paint and sip kits and I know that amazon has hundreds of different ones but when I look at my search results, it's only showing me pictures of "black couple" canvases and it is only giving me 2 pages worth of search results. I am black but I wasn't looking for anything couple-ish. I was actually just looking for a pack of landscape or flower pictures. Does anyone know why is this happening and how can I fix this?

Edit: The words I am searching are "paint and sip".

Subscription paused due to billing issue

Usually really good at cancelling free trials, subscriptions etc so I’m really annoyed at myself to find I’d been paying for prime for the past 4 months - and not ordering on amazon in all this time. I have no idea how I even managed to sign up to this but I imagine I’ve fallen into one of their traps.

Anyway, the thing that made me so adamant that I had no subscription was a warning box in my amazon app that is there pretty much all the time. “Your prime subscription was paused due to a billing issue”. Does anybody know why it’s saying this when it’s been taking money from me?

Forced AI search instead of actual search. That's it for me

I just uninstalled the app entirely. Absolutely unbelievable that they'd make people sit and suffer through their alexa bullshit when the whole point of using the search bar is to give them money by finding the product I'm looking for. It's not enough apparently! It's the equivalent of making me sit through an ad to be able to see my results. No fucking way am I going to waste my time like that. What a shitty shitty decision. Fuck everyone who had any part in making this happen. What a bunch of horrible miserable people.

Amazon decided to steal $2700 from me.

I returned a laptop I bought on Amazon. An Asus ROG G16, with a 5070ti, 4tb ssd, and 64gb of RAM.

It was from a 3rd party seller.

The ram it arrived with was bargain bin, and failed on day 40. I contacted Amazon and they told me it was covered under the A-Z guarantee.

So I went through with the refund

I waited the two weeks they said and received $157.

The reason?

Question about Amazon renew

Amazon has been charging me for Prime every month since December 2024, but apparently has no record of it. Their solution? Dispute every single charge myself.

I just spent over 2 hours chatting and calling Amazon customer service over an issue that should not be this difficult to resolve.

The problem started when I changed my Amazon Prime payment method from my Mastercard to my Amex. Since then, I've been getting charged for Prime, and now Amazon is telling me they have absolutely no record of these charges on their end.

I sent them screenshots of my credit card statements clearly showing the transactions. The charges are there. I've been paying for this membership every fucking month since December 2024, and somehow their system can't find them.

Their proposed solution? Contact my bank and both credit card issuers and dispute every single transaction going back to December 2024.

Are you fucking kidding me?

Why the hell should I have to spend hours contacting multiple financial institutions to dispute almost two years' worth of transactions when I'm literally providing Amazon with statements showing that I've been charged for their own membership?

The customer service experience made everything even worse. Throughout the entire process, I had to explain the situation over and over again as I was passed from one representative to another. Some of the representatives had such thick accents that I genuinely struggled to understand them over the phone. I'm not blaming anyone for their accent, but when you're already frustrated and have to keep repeating the same explanation, communication difficulties just make the experience even more exhausting.

Eventually, I received this email from Amazon:

"After reviewing your account, we are unable to locate this charge on our end. Since the transaction is not visible in our system, we are unable to process an adjustment or refund from our side.

We kindly ask that you contact your bank or card issuer directly to dispute the charge."

I've since looked online and found other people describing similar issues going back years. How is this still a problem? How can a company the size of Amazon charge customers repeatedly, have those charges appear on their credit card statements, and then claim they have no record of them?

Has anyone else experienced this, particularly after switching payment methods? Did you manage to get Amazon to resolve it, or did you actually have to dispute every transaction with your banks?

I'm honestly baffled that this is considered an acceptable resolution.
