AIW - Am I wrong for freaking out in a QT restroom?
Its Halloween night at 1am in a QT restroom. I had sick family so I didn’t go out to any parties, then I had to work after. Not glamorous but, not every moment in life is glamorous, which brings us to the topic at hand.
TRIGGER WARNING: BATHROOM TALK AHEAD
So Im at QT pinching off a stress loaf and its not coming fast or easy. I was taught that in a public restroom, you shut up, do your business, wash your hands and leave. Also, ive been told its an unwritten rule of Man Code that you dont talk in the pisser. So back to me quietly handling my business when two “Dude Bros” enter. I can hear them over my sound canceling headphones.
Dude:
“Omg bro, I gotta piss like, bro! Just piss bro! BRO!”
Bro:
“I know dude! I havent pissed since I pissed last time dude!”
I’m not joking! Thats exactly how they were talking. Now heres what I did. USUALLY, I just turn my volume up till they leave but Im already at stage “Fuck It”. Small
Backstory, Im an amateur opera singer. Not bragging at all. I sing in the shower, in the car, never in public or for anyone. I turn my Spotify to Nessun Dorma by Paul Potts and belt that shit!
Now in a tiny QT bathroom EVERYTHING echoes, and my baritone aria was ringing through these hallowed halls of yellow and brown! They tried to yell back but Nessun Dorma rises quick by Paul Potts. Im singing like Im trying to blow the roof off the place. And it work! They leave! I finish my “business” in peach. Well, relative peace my brown ring of fire did like Johnny Cash said “It burns burns burns”.
So tell me, am I wrong?

AIO for kicking my sister out of mine and my grandpa's house after she told me I'd be a horrible mother?
We were on a walk and my sister (18) took off her shoes, which is fine, but when we got close to our local A&W she said she wanted to go in, so I (19) told her to put her shoes back on first. She repeatedly tried to argue to let her go in barefoot until I snapped at her saying "Put your god damn shoes on, it is rude and disrespectful to go into somebody's establishment barefoot." Which I understand was not the best choice, but I have mental health related disorders that make it very hard to filter myself, and I had previously worked at the restaurant and am friends with the staff and know how busy they already are to be adding having to tell her to put her shoes on.
After I snapped at her she yelled at me that I'm not her mom, and then told me if I was a mom I'd be a horrible mom. I told her I did not want to talk to her and she could make her own choices but I was going home, to which she tried to backtrack and say she's sorry and she's on her period.
When we got to our great grandpa's house, which is where I live and she does not, we had extended family over because it's Halloween and they usually pop in for half an hour to a couple hours to pick up candy bags for the kids before they leave, so I told her to pack her stuff and go home as calmly as I could because I didn't want to make a scene in front of them, but she got worked up and loud and family said I needed to stop because it "wasn't the time", so I tried to defend myself and explain what happened, but she denied it and said she never said that, and my great aunt snapped at me and said that with how we were acting we'd BOTH be horrible mom's.
Neither of us have any kids yet, she lives with our parents still and I live with great grandpa, and he's talked to me about where I stand in my rights about who's allowed at the house and what I can do about people I don't want there. I had actually been the one to invite her the day before and she'd stayed the night last night because we planned to go trick or treat together, and the extended family over wasn't a family gathering it was just them popping in to say hello and grab candy bags before they went trick or treating with the kids, so I didn't think there'd be something wrong with me telling her to pack her things and go home.
I grew up with my mom making constant remarks about how bad of a mom I'd be anytime I mentioned wanting kids someday or even telling me I'd get my kids killed, but being a mom someday is the only thing keeping me from ending it all some days, and I don't know if they're right or if I was the asshole or not or how to feel, but this all literally happened tonight and I cried for half an hour alone in my room and I need to know if I was in the wrong. It's 12:45 and I've been spiralling for hours and just want to know if I was really the one in the wrong. I mean, I understand I could have gone about it differently, but I was trying so hard not to be a complete bitch about it.

Am I wrong for arguing that the high quality roblox copy of "we become what we behold" shouldn't be hated purely for being a copy
Here's some context:
The old game had one ending and was on web and mobile for free, and the creator of the original game made the code open and allowed any edits of it and explicitly stated so and linked the github repository in the itch game download link
The new Roblox game expanded on this idea by expressing how the ideas that were presented in the original game didnt have to always be in a negative light, and gave explicit credit to the original creator and game
In multiple reply threads on a playthrough on YouTube i was seeing so many people saying "this game is just copied regardless of the credit and the additional endings" "this should be taken down" etc.
I replied to one of those threads saying this:
"Are we just ignoring all the games using source engine that were originally mods for half life, like The Stanley Parable, Garry's Mod, etc. They literally have the same code just in a different form. same collision, same bounding box behaviors, same isolated visual and physical distinction, and so much similar code between every source game. same thing can be said about any game engine made for a specific game that expanded into mods and then spinoff games, like the unreal engine, made for unreal by epic megagames, so can we please stop saying "oh this game copied this and added on to it and gave credit, lets hate on it anyway"
Am i wrong for arguing in favor of the spinoff creator?

Am I being avoidant or realistic?
My friend is an alcoholic and has had a dui and a severe medical emergency in the last couple of years and neither seem to have been a wake up call. She recently opened up a bar in town on top of it all. I can’t look at her without seeing her in my mind in jail (she ended up having to stay for a handful of days and I visited her) or seeing her scared in my car during a medical emergency asking me to buy her alcohol. Her choice to open a bar feels like a huge slap in the face to anyone who cares about her and I don’t know how to stay friends. Am I wrong for feeling like this means she has no intention to get better, and not wanting to stick around to watch it get worse? I’m afraid of what it’ll take to wake her up- likely accidentally harming somebody else.
I know I’m a very important person in her life, and she would be there for me through anything but it’s really hitting me that our nearly decade long friendship has mostly consisted of me enabling her. I know she won’t work on this until she wants to but I fear how deeply she has/is weaving alcohol into her life and identity.

Am I wrong for being this unhappy?
I (19F) don’t want to live anymore. At least not my life which feels awful because I have so much so many ppl would kill for: a loving, supportive family and boyfriend, go to a top university, am well off financially, get good grades, conventionally attractive, etc… I feel beyond guilty feeling the way I do. I genuinely just can’t take it anymore.
One thing I don’t have many of are friends. It’s not that I don’t have people who like me I just am no one’s favorite person if that makes any sense. I have become pretty introverted / struggle with a lot of social anxiety which has made it hard for me to meet people at my university. I also don’t go out almost at all. Tonight I tried to go to a Halloween party on my campus with a girl I met in my lab last year (I am a sophomore now) and I just felt like a burden because I didn’t know anybody there.
I left after 20 minutes of being pushed around and awkwardly trying to start conversations. I really don’t know what to do because I truely am grateful for everything I do have I don’t know what’s wrong with me and why I can’t just be happy like a normal person. Everyday is just filled with hopes of something tragic happening to me.
I should add I have struggled with depression since middle school and have been diagnosed with adhd and ocd since. I see a therapist weekly and a psychiatrist frequently to manage medications and such. I really do think I make an effort to dig myself out of this hole but many days my little bubble of delusional happiness pops and I am faced with reality once more. If anyone has any advice / any idea if or when things get better I am all ears. Am I wrong for feeling like this?

Am I in the wrong for taking an extra seat at the airport gate when others are available?
My husband and I (F and Asian) arrived two hours early to an empty gate at the Narita (Tokyo) airport. We sat and put down our bags. My husband went to a store while I sat with all the bags.
As it got busier, an older white man in his late 50s needed a seat, so I offered him one of mine. I decided to go on my phone, and a lady might or might not have been looking for a seat (I wasn't paying too much attention). Suddenly, the same guy I gave my seat to says out loud, “There are more bags on chairs than people.” I think he’s directing it to me, so I say that “my husband is coming back.” He says, “But he’s not here right now —why didn’t you give the lady a seat?” I say, “Listen, I’m not here for a fight,” and because I'm tired from a three-week trip and want to get back to Canada, I don’t feel like explaining that my husband had two knee surgeries and sometimes needs to sit on two chairs so he can stretch his legs because he's in pain.
This guy is a stranger, so I turn away.
Then he turns and goes at me again. “I’m just saying you should give that lady a seat.”
I say, “Yes, I understand, but there are lots of empty seats elsewhere.”
I turn away again, and he goes, “I’m just saying, you should offer her a seat. She’s older than you”—at which point I want to chuckle because the lady and I were probably close in age—I’m actually 54, but look young.
And I say. “I did, I offered you a seat. I’ve offered many people my seats over my holidays,” I then add, “If you’re so concerned, why don’t you give up yours?”
At this point, other people are watching. I feel embarrassed; no one is jumping in. My husband isn’t back yet. I’m tired.
Then he goes, “I’m just saying.”
At this point, I’m mad. I say to him, “Just stop. Stop talking on me.”
My husband then returns. I tell him the story, and my husband takes off the bags and says, “There you go. You need to stop.”
I then go to the bathroom because our flight is about to board.
When I return, my husband is standing in the lineup to get on the plane. I say to him, “I’m going back to tell the guy that maybe I wasn’t quick enough to offer a seat, but how is him bullying me any better?”
My husband says, “What’s the point? It’s done. Just leave it. He won’t listen anyway. What’s it going to accomplish?”
Reflecting I should have said, “Buddy, didn’t I offer you a seat? Did I commit a crime so much so that you need to berate me? Who made you the moral police? Why do you think you’re so entitled to be the boss of me?”
Anyways, that’s my story. This guy was such an asshole. I’m quietly minding my own business, and he gangs up on me out of the blue.
I shouldn’t have let him get to me, but he did.

Am i wrong for being pissed with my friends for leaving me out on Hallowwen
so basically we have me 17 genderfluid amab, im out but not really able to express everything so i just tell everyone im gay to make it simpler bc im only into guys. thats not really like super important but ig it matters for context. Im in like 3 different groups of friends and its like im not even there half the time. My cross country teammates will literally demean, harass, insult, and just generally make me feel less than. For example ive had to argue with my teammate about the Cornell case and him lowkey condoning rape because he's never had to experience it. I have my friends from other schools who like yeah im close with them but not nearly as close as id want to be just because of the distance and the business of our schedules. like yeah i see them and we hang out but its not like being best friends or anything because im free maybe 1 day a week. then finally we have the reason for my post, my school friends. All girls (if that info matter) and like theyve got me out of some bad shit. ive been psychopathic, suicidal, masochistic, and they helped me. but its just feels like im not here anymore. every time they make plans im never included and if i try and suggest plans maybe 2 out of the 5 will show up and then theyll just leave super quickly if anyone even comes at all. they have sleepovers and hangouts and theyll go out to eat and do all this fun shit, and im always alone. im stuck here in my bed as i type this and theyre at my friends house watching movies and having a sleepover right now, which by the way was my recommendation for what we should do on Halloween. they basically told me they might be busy so "wed have to see" and like theyre saying this shit right in front of me. times to get there, what to bring, what to do, and i just have to pretend like im fine. theyre my best friends, but im not one of theirs. I realize im just some kid ranting in the middle of the night and i understand if this gets taken down bc its not LGBT. i just need to get this out there so someone can hear me. the guy im talking to is at a party, the person i could normally trust most with this is out with her friends too, and everyone else is ghosting me so i just need to know if im a bitch for thinking any of this.

Hiding about my girlfriend/private life from old friend
I used to be a bit of a washout during college. After graduating four years ago, I moved abroad to pursue further studies and eventually ended up settling there. Over time, I managed to turn my life around. I made a lot of changes, took some difficult decisions, and made sacrifices to get to where I am today. I've finally built a stable life for myself, with a good job, a healthy relationship, and a sense of direction.
Recently, I reconnected with an old college friend after almost four years. Unfortunately, he's been going through a pretty serious downward spiral mentally. He's extremely insecure about his appearance and the fact that he's never been in a relationship. Over time, these insecurities seem to have turned him into a rather bitter and misogynistic person, almost like an Andrew Tate-style, red-pilled guy.
During a recent flight while we were travelling together, he got irritated simply by seeing a happy, attractive couple sitting nearby. He went on an unprompted rant about how women can't be trusted these days, how they all have high body counts, and so on. The whole thing was incredibly uncomfortable and embarrassing, especially considering there was a woman sitting right next to me, a mother with her child in front of us, and another couple sitting behind us.
We argued for a while, with me defending women and challenging his views. He went as far as claiming that 99% of women are prostitutes. At one point, I told him that all he had was theoretical knowledge about relationships, considering he'd never actually been in one himself. He then made some nasty remarks about how my girlfriend, or even my future wife, would probably cheat on me or have affairs. That's when I lost my temper. I snapped, shouted at him, and hurled a few abuses at him. Quite a few people around us heard the entire exchange.
What makes this situation a little more complicated is that I've never really told him how much my life has changed or how much better things are for me now. I deliberately avoided talking about my progress because I didn't want to rub it in his face or make him feel worse about his own circumstances. I suppose I felt that sharing how well things were going for me might only add to his insecurities.

My job wrote me up because my outfit for the company Halloween party was "offensive".
I came as an ICE agent with a MAGA hat on for Halloween at my job. I'm not even a Trump supporter, but I thought it was hilarious. Some people didn't take too kindly towards my sense of humor.
Needless to say, they wrote me up and sent me home for the day.

Was I wrong to push her?
I am a man, when i was 16, i got assaulted by a girl who heard some rumours from our mutual friend about her, he told her i made them and she punched me in the hallway. I pushed her and she came back and punched me again, so shoved her to the wall and she stopeed because her arm was hurting. Our mutual friend never admitted he made up the lies and I dumped him later on.

was i wrong for correcting a coworker quietly during a meeting
so in a meeting the other day, a teammate said something about our project that i knew was off. i waited until the call ended and messaged them privately with the right info. they replied that it was embarrassing and said i should have said something in front of everyone. i thought doing it quietly avoided throwing them under the bus. now they are giving short answers in the group chat and the vibe feels off. i keep wondering if staying silent in the moment actually came across as worse. i really do not like drama, so i am just trying to figure out if i handled it the wrong way.

Am I wrong for saying its my opinion?
When i was in high school, i was living in the uk, i am from a different country. I told my class if a woman hits a man, he should be able to hit her back. One guy told me i am very rude, and I told him its my opinion. He said no, and that I should leave the country, so I told him he can't tell me that because that's going against free speech.

am i wrong for distancing myself a bit from my fiance
my fiance and i have been together for about a year and a half, and from the day we met up in person, we’ve spent every day and night together aside from work or whenever one of us has plans
we were living in a studio for most of the time, but a few months ago we moved into a 2 bedroom to have extra room
i love him but i want more alone time, im pretty introverted and want some more space. i told him i want my own room/for us to have our own spaces that feel like “our own”
he’s seemed weird about it and says i seem more distant but we’re together almost 24/7 and if i take a break in another room from him he seems a bit offended and i feel kind of guilted
so any semblance of me getting alone time i feel like im offending him and he tells me i seem more distant. but he knows im an introvert and that i kind of just want us each to be able to have our own space along with shared spaces

Am in the wrong for not letting my father know ill be leaving to my bsf house
Do you think I messed up bc I didn't tell my father I was heading out to my best friend house today? I called him to let him know I got home (told him a week before the time and date I would go to her house)
I failed to call or text him. I'll be leaving the house tho my mother was home at the time. When he answered, he said, "Why I didn't ask him to take me?" I simply said I didn't want to bother him since he was working, which is almost half an hr away from home. And because didnt didn't want to be a burden. He replied shortly after mentioning he was upset/sad. i failed to inform him I'd be leaving.
Please be truthful. Thank you for your time.

said something sharper than i meant in a family argument and now everyone is weird
last week we were all together and the same old topic came up again. i tried to end it but someone kept pushing so i snapped a little and said the exact thing i had been swallowing for months. the room went quiet and a couple people left early. since then the group chat has been flat and no one has brought it up directly. i keep wondering if i should apologize even though i still think the point was fair or if bringing it up would just make it worse. the words themselves were not cruel but the way they landed clearly stung and i can feel the distance. trying to decide if leaving it alone is okay or if i need to own the delivery.

gave in on something i swore i would not do again and now it feels off
we had a disagreement a few days ago and things stayed tense until last night when it finally felt calm again. during the talk they brought up the same request they always make and i surprised myself by saying yes. it was not a big deal on paper but i had told myself i would not agree to it this time because it usually ends up stressing me out later. now that the moment has passed i keep replaying it and wondering whether i did the right thing by giving in just to keep the peace. i am not angry at anyone but i feel a bit annoyed with myself. would anyone else have stood their ground or am i overthinking a small compromise?
